Cooking with the Kiddos Giveaway!
Spring Break is upon us.
We have plans to sleep in, to not pack lunches and to do irresponsible things like stay in pajamas until noon, go to the movies in the middle of the day and stage spelling quiz shows with luxurious prizes in our living room. (Lulu just spelled funny with an “e.” At least she was writing about me. And she spelled, “absolutely fabulous” perfectly. Good girl.)
But Spring Break also means I have two extra bodies in the kitchen.
Just how I like it.
Today, we were fixing a Strawberry Mango Chickpea Salad with Cinnamon Vinaigrette to deliver to our teachers at school (who are still there for conferences).
I appreciate the help.
Even if it comes with a side of sass.
But part of the key to getting kids (and/or the people we love in general) to make healthy food choices is just that—getting them involved in making those choices.
Letting them take ownership and pride.
Pulling back the curtain and helping them see that whole, real foods can be delicious.
Not just helping them see, but letting them taste for themselves.
I want to inspire you to let your kids (or significant others, friends and family) come in the kitchen and cook with you. I have a whole bunch of recipes to inspire you on our recipe page, but also in our first book and now our second.
How about some luxurious prizes?
Each prize pack contains:
- One insulated cooler bag;
- One stainless steel tumbler with straw;
- One glass fruit infuser water bottle; and
- One copy of the yet-to-be-released More Peas, Thank You.
To enter, get in the kitchen! Bring your camera, your kiddos (or your significant others, friends, family, pets or, yes, even stuffed animals) and cook up your favorite Peas and Thank You recipe.
Snap a pic of your budding chef in action and send it to me with a caption to firstname.lastname@example.org, via Twitter @Mama_Pea, or message me on Facebook before Tuesday, March 26th (book release day!).
I’ll select five winning photos at random and post them here on Tuesday!
Sound good? Good.
And don’t forget, we have a live Facebook chat on the Peas and Thank You Facebook page this Friday, March 22nd, when we can, well…chat. The chitter chatter starts at 1 p.m. PST/4 p.m. EST. We did this last year and it really was a blast!
Have a fun, “funney” and absolutely fabulous rest of your week!
