Follow The Star
Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21
I am a planner. A color-coded-calendar, checklist-on-the-white-board, multiple-alarms-set-for-ungodly-hours, scheduled-it-two-weeks-ago-and-set-a-reminder planner.
It goes without saying that the next few weeks leading up to Christmas are meticulously planned so things go off without a hitch.
Tonight, our plans got hitched.
Tonight, we followed a star.
We marched in the dark and the cold behind three wise men.
We were visited by an angel.
With frizzy hair, runny noses, wet, soggy jeans, frozen toes and huge grins,
we met the Savior of the World.
I pray this is what my children keep in their hearts at Christmas.
I pray this is what I keep in my heart every day of the year.
Forget my plans, as carefully laid as they may be.
His plan is better.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
