Our Favorite Thanksgiving Recipes

Wow.

How is Thanksgiving only one week away?!  Didn’t I just devote a week’s worth of posts commiserating over the end of summer?

For our holiday, we’ve got ourselves an invite to my aunt’s house, and I’m pegged to bring the cranberry sauce.  That’s it.  Nothing more, nothing less. I dig it.

And with the week off of school for the girls, we’ve got a full calendar of sleepovers, library dates and bumper bowling all lined up.  Oh yes, we bowl.  Don’t make me break out my wrist brace. (Okay, I don’t really have a wrist brace.  But Christmas is right around the corner.)

We are all set, but in case you still need to fill in a few blanks in your Thanksgiving menu, here’s a few of our favorite recipes that just might hit the spot:

I was thinking about making those garlic herb smashed potatoes this weekend – loved those last year!

I hope Gigi’s recovery is going smoothly. My dad had a major operation the other day…it really puts life in perspective, you know? It’s these situations that make me realize how important it is to cherish all of the time we have together. I hope you have a wonderful weekend before Thanksgiving and a wonderful Thanksgiving too! ENJOY the time with your girls and your family! :-) Hugs to you!

  13. Alia Joy says:

Oh yum! I’ve been looking for a good recipe for Spicy African Peanut Stew after I had it a few years ago. I doubt I’ll do it for Thanksgiving this year since we’re keeping it super simple but it’s on my list of things to make since the weather is cold and stews and soups take over my meal plans.

  14. kaity says:

looking through your recipes you posted i feel ive made close to all of them lol (chickpea dumplings was my dinner its my FAV!!) and i loveee your corn millet pudding its so easy and my fam loves it which is a plus

  15. I made your old fashioned pumpkin pie last year. Actually my hubs made it. He was home the day before Thanksgiving while I was at work. I was shocked when I walked through the door after a long day to have a homemade pie on the stove. Let’s just say we HAD to taste test it that night. YUM! Making it again this year!

  16. Paije says:

We are big bowlers too. No shame!

I was wondering what happened to your pumpkin loaf with white chocolate chips? I made it 2 years ago (I think?) and it was amazing. I just can’t seem to find the recipe now!

  17. Jacquelynn says:

I just forwarded your gravy recipe to my brother’s girlfriend… She just asked me for a vegan gravy recipe yesterday, and I know she will love yours!

  18. I included some of these yummy looking dishes in my Thanksgiving Recipe Round-Up this year – Keep up the good work.
