A Few Updates
I totally stink at updates. My phone constantly has outdated apps and let’s not even touch my wardrobe. Seriously, don’t touch it. It might disintegrate.
We just have so much going on in our lives right now. I’m not complaining, there are many blessings in the busyness! For the most part, though, I just try to focus on one tree at a time so I don’t get overwhelmed by the forest.
But even though I might feel on top of things, you might be feeling a little lost. So let me show you some trees!
If you are new to this forest, hello! Some of you have found our site through Pinterest or She Reads Truth, or through this month’s Cooking Light Blogger Spotlight. Welcome, and I hope you like what you see!
I know our Recipage can be a little overwhelming by the sheer number of recipes, so I’ve added another tab for our Most Loved Recipeas. We’d suggest trying these first!
And for you long-time readers, if I’ve omitted some of your favorites from this page, please speak up so I can add them.
Many of you have also been asking about when our second book, More Peas, Thank You comes out. We’ve still got awhile to go, but we do have an official release date: March 19, 2013 (and rumor has it you can already preorder on Amazon, if you are so inclined).
And we have a working cover I can share as well!
Purty.
One more update, we are just a few weeks away from the Influence Conference, October 11th-14th in Indianapolis.
We’ve added a breakout session I’m leading about meal planning and healthy eating for busy individuals and families. Isn’t that all of us?
You can still get a ticket to attend or you can enter to win one here today!
That’s it for now, back to my blessings and busyness and outdated clothing. Thank you always for reading!

Is this cookbook vegan like the last one? I loved the first Peas and Thank You. Can’t wait for the second one =]
Kate, the recipes are the same as the first book…all vegetarian with vegan/non-vegan options given for the dairy products. Glad you enjoyed the first book!
i’m not even going to start on my wardrobe – YIKES!
i absolutely love the cover! it’s so beautiful and clean…wait a sec, just like y’all!
seriously, so pretty
Thanks, friend. So excited for your next chapter too!
Oh. I will be at that breakout session!! Cannot wait to hug you!
I just put all the materials together for it today, Kacia. Get ready to take notes! (and hug me)
I preordered as soon as I found it on Amazon….. (Is it sad that I kept checking on there for it!
The cover looks AMAZING!
And I SO can’t wait!!!
SO happy for all the wonderful blessings you are receiving my friend.
Thank you, Tonda. Tonight I’m celebrating and giving thanks for your good news, though. <3
You and me both!!! God is good through the best and worst parts.
There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t thank him for all his glory!
I definitely was blessed during my treatments…. I learned SO many valuable lessons from that time.
You are so right. And one of the greatest gifts is that you can look past any anger or resentment and see that.
I was JUST thinking about you and wondering about Book Part Deux! Can’t wait!
You were thinking of me because I was thinking about you! I nearly pulled Chris out of the shower to show him the Facebook pic of your proud daddy in bed on Sunday with his crew.
Congrats on the Cooking Light feature, Sarah, that is awesome! And the second book – I just can’t wait! And I love the title.
Thanks, Cassie! I have been a long-time reader of Cooking Light, so it was a fun treat!
“New York Times bestselling author Sarah Matheny”!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I peed my pants a little just reading that! I mean that in the nicest way possible (and i guess no one should touch my clothes either…). How exciting!!! Woo hoo – thanks for the update!!!
Thanks, Kelly. I think you’ll really like the recipes in this new book!
I have no doubt!!
Toffee Bars need to go on the new page! Seriously.make.them.all.the.time. I use it as a base and go crazy with mixings — blueberry coconut, apple walnut, cranberry almond. Looooove it
Hip hip hooray for the book news!! More peas for me, please.
Oooh, thanks Rebecca, I forgot about those!
Congrats on your second book, if you can judge a book by it’s cover (which we all know is the right way to go about things
), your cookbook is going to be beautiful, amazing, & tasty.
I so wish I could attend the Influence conference. A few of my favorite bloggers will be there, but alas, not in the cards this time around.
Janae, I’ll take good notes and bring you up to speed! Thank you for the sweet comment.
Congrats on the official release date – that is awesome! Great cover – ties in to the other one but has it’s own uniqueness. Super crisp, clean, very pretty. You’ve got to be SO excited!!
Thanks, Averie. Hope you are having a great week!
oh that conference sounds wonderful. I’d go just to hug you. Thats ok, right? and congrats on your cover! and cooking light! Blessings all around!!
I’m always okay with hugs.
I just pre-ordered it on amazon!
Thanks, Penny!
Um, how cool is it that your book says “New York Times Bestselling Author” on the cover of it?! I squealed when I saw it.
Also, I hope I win a ticket to Influence.
That would make my life. I still have a layover in Denver, you know…
You are blessed! Thank you for the updates. I hope you are doing well. xoxo
And you too, Britt! I’m reading, every day!
I am reading your first book & I love it! I love that is full of personal stories! I want to try every recipe (not my normal reaction to vegan cookbooks!lol)! Can’t wait to see what’s in your second! Best wishes!
Thank you! You’ll like this new book just as much–promise!
Almost a year ago since I last saw you in person and got your last cookbook signed! Can’t wait for Vegfest this weekend. And can’t wait to see the recipes in your next cookbook!
I know! That was so fun meeting you.
Congrats on your official release date! So very exciting. The title is perfect!
I wish so bad I could hear you at Influence! Will they record the sessions? I could be your own personal cheerleader. I get all my moves from Gigi.
You should add Noodle Salad with Peanut Mmmm Sauce to your Most Loved Recipeas page – it’s my favourite!
Oh yes, great addition! Thanks, Emily.
Oh my First of all Congratulations on official Release Date of your Second Book! Wow. Secondly, i dont know why i thought you were going to announce a third Little pea…Clearly i Need an early night!
That would be wonderful in it’s own right…but no.
Yay for your next book! You are rockin! And I would definitely add your apple chocolate cake to your sweet list! I have never had a cake so full of healthy stuff and turn out so amazingly good. I can’t stop thinking about that cake! Ha! My thighs show the proof!
I was torn between making the PB bars or the chocolate apple cake for company this weekend…now you’ve really got me questioning myself!
Yay for the new cookbook coming soon. I love the first one, so I can’t wait to see the 2nd.
Thanks, Michelle! I think you’ll be happy with it!
Congrats on the Cooking Light feature, Mama Pea! That’s great! And I’m so excited to see the new book when it comes out. For the record, I’m terrible about updates too. I’m only just updating my iPhone software right now, after having been reminded by iTunes for 2 weeks that a newer version is available. One day maybe I’ll learn!
I updated last night thanks to this post. It took about 2 hours and I’m not sure I see any really significant changes. You’re good.
Congratulations on Cooking Light! How awesome! I’ll have to pick up that issue next time I’m perusing at Barnes and Noble. Can’t wait for the second book AND my greek veggie burger for lunch today
They are even better leftover (I know from experience). Enjoy!
Congratulations on Cooking Light! I had no idea! The new book cover looks great – and it matches the first book’s cover too! Will there still be the stories and pictures and such in the new book? You know I can’t wait to see it! Aaaaaannnnnd, I’ll plug it again, Washington, DC on the book tour!!!
Yes, there will be stories and pictures throughout…though I think both have improved a lot! I would love to come to DC! Who knows what the future holds?!
Congratulations on the second book (which I will be preordering) and for the Cooking Light feature (which I will look for)! You are so blessed! If you want to come to St. Louis on a book tour, I will be there! I can bring my stained and rumpled yet well-loved Peas and Thank You cookbook.
Unfortunately I won’t be able to make the Influence Conference as I lead a Bible study on Sundays and am already missing the next week, and I don’t want to miss 2 weeks in a row.
Bummer! But I totally get it!
Love the cover!!! It looks great
Love the cover and congrats on being featured in Cooking Light! You really are changing lives by making it do easy – and delicious- to be healthy! I so admire you Sarah!
Teri, you’re making me blush. Love you, friend.
I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I am to know I can preorder the book already
I truly can’t wait for the next peas and thank you book, our family loves your blog, recipeas and books Mama Pea!
Congrats on all the trees growing in your amazing forest
Ana
Thank you, Ana! I always appreciate your kindness and support.
That issue of Cooking Light has been sitting on my coffee table for a while…I am so excited to read it now! What a great gig–they are lucky to have you!
Love the cover and so glad you went with that title. It was my first choice
Thanks, friend. I think of you and your little family often
How exciting to see the working cover of the new cookbook – I can’t wait to get it! I haven’t been a cooking light subscriber for a year now, so I didn’t realize you were featured there too. Very exciting stuff in the pea household!
Second book?!? How did I miss that announcement?!? So proud of you, friend!
Yup! Thanks so much, girl.
Wow! Isn’t that title interesting! I suggested almost that same title to you on Twitter last year! Mine was a bit different suggestion of “More Peas, Please”.
To think I was part of the final outcome is cool!
I actually didn’t get the final vote on the title–but this one is just fine! Thanks for your suggestion, Kel.
How awesome to have “New York Times bestselling author” and your name in the same sentence!
Woohoo! Looking forward to reading your new cookbook! Your first one is one of our coffee table features btw
Ummm, did Cooking Light misspell your name?!?!
Ha ha. Yup.
Pre-ordering for the Pea Project, of course. (And I’m quite pleased with the amount of alliteration in the previous sentence).
“New York’s Bestselling Author”
HOW FREAKING COOL IS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oops. forgot the word “Times”. it’s early am for me. :S
but still!! so amazing to see!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hee hee. I knew what you meant.
Happy Friday!
Congrats on the new book!
Eeeee!! I’m so excited! I’ve almost made every recipe in the first book! <3
Hi there! I try to read your blog when I have some extra time! I love your creativity and humor. I had a spaghetti squash sitting around, so I made your spaghetti squash casserole. I used all vegan ingredients, and unfortunately, I have to say it did not do the spaghetti squash justice. Maybe I should have omitted the daiya cheese… Anyway, take care!
I wish I had your recipes available when my daughter was little (she’s 16 now). I think she may not have turned out to be such a picky eater if I had your clever recipes at hand.
