Snapshot Sunday: The Great Rescue
A Great Rescue is underway.
Now that all the tallies are coming in from “Heath Day” (including our car wash’s $849.00!), we’re discovering he is getting so very close to having his adoption be fully funded.
It is, in a word, miraculous.
The miracle isn’t just in the number of complete strangers that came by and left generous donations yesterday, many without even having their cars washed.
The miracle also isn’t just in the number of volunteers who showed up to hose down cars (and each other), to help watch enthusiastic kiddos, or to bring amazing baked goods, bottled waters and encouragement.
The real miracle is in the fact that across the country dozens of people organized car washes, pancake feeds, garage sales and other fundraisers for a sad, lonely and scared little boy thousands and thousands of miles away.
A little boy they have never, nor will likely ever, meet in this life.
A little boy who has no idea that someone, many someones, very far away are fighting for him, are loving him and are totally devoted to his rescue.
That is a miracle.
A miracle I feel fortunate to be witnessing.
I hope you have had a restful Sunday and that you know that you are being fought for, you are being loved and Someone is totally devoted to your rescue too.
A new She Reads Truth plan starts Monday and I couldn’t be more excited! Check here for the new plan announcement when it goes live and here for how to get started with the study. If you are curious or even intimidated about how to join in the plan or just need encouragement, send me an email to email@example.com. I’d be happy to walk you through it so we can start sharing together!
