It Bears Repeating: Sunrise Service
Originally posted April 24, 2011
Overheard on the stairway this morning.
Before the sun had completely risen.
Before a single plastic egg had been hunted.
Before a single jelly bean had been eaten.
Before a single chocolate bunny lost his left ear.
A quiet little voice squeaked out in the silence.
“Thank you, Jesus. For all you did for us.”
–Gigi, Age 5
Amen.

Aw, that’s so sweet. Amen indeed! Happy Easter to the whole Pea Family!
What a precious story. Thank you for sharing with us! Happy Easter to you and your family
PS I made your sourdough bread for our big family dinner today. Just took it out of the oven and it smells AMAZING! It’s taking all of my willpower not to break off a chunk right now. Can’t wait to share it with my family.
That did bear reapeating!!! Love this!
So sweet! Happy Easter!
Amen and Happy Easter!

The price has been paid! Happy Resurrection Day! May God Bless all.
So lovely. It amazes me every day that God would have sent Jesus to die on the cross even if I were the only person on earth. What a wonderful God He is!
Blessings to you and your family!
absolutely beautiful. thank you gigi for telling it straight. and thank you Jesus!
Precious! I love the pic!
Happy Easter! We had your lasagna for dinner tonight. Super yummy and a great way to offset that sick feeling you get from eating too much of your kid’s Easter basket.
Beautiful. This truly warmed my heart!
Happy Easter to you and your family!
Out of the mouths of babes…..
This post truly gave me goosebumps.
I’m so thankful for the second chance we got from his sacrifice.
Happy Easter my friend….. You’re raising a great family.
Out of the mouth of babes…..

Happy Easter to the Peas!
Aww, so sweet! Amen is right!
Love it! And very thankful Jesus gave his life for all of us!
I don’t even have to be Christian to see what a beautiful snapshot in time this is. I’m sure Gigi will be tickled pink to revisit this childhood moment that you recorded for her, someday when she is all grown up. I hope that your Easter was filled with love and spiritual fulfillment, both last year and this year. <3
So precious! Hope you’re all having a blessed Easter.
So cute:) What a nice way to start the day. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Easter! Still enjoying Passover. Recovering from our first Seder on Friday night and the second on Saturday. Four cups a wine every night takes a toll, ahahahha:)
O when is your new book coming out? I cannot wait to get more meatless dinner recipes:):):)
Shara, the pending date is April 2013. I know…it’s a ways out.
Who do we bribe to make it happen sooner!
Man…….that is a long time…..well it will be worth the wait:):) I am sure it takes a while to do editing, create the layout and get the marketing plan together, and get it all to come together. I am sure it is so exciting for you, but they are really putting you through the ringer with a year long wait for publishing.
That is so great. She knows the true meaning!
This post has to be the best one you ever posted!! He lives!!!
That is so sweet. I wish we could all see live through a child’s eyes.
awe…love this…what a perfect start to the day. Sounds like you are one amazing mom and pea daddy is one amazing dad. Keep up the good work!

Love this! So sweet! Such beautiful girls you have. I hope you had a wonderful Easter celebration!
I’d love to see some of my favorite bloggers participating in this! A food blogger bake sale to end childhood hunger, such an amazing cause… http://blog.foodnetwork.com/fn-dish/2012/03/28/share-our-strength-food-blogger-bake-sale/
Thanks for the link, Alexis…I’m looking into it. It looks like there is a sale in Portland that maybe I can be a part of!
Yay I am so happy to hear!! Share Our Strength funded part of my graduate thesis research, and I love all that they do.
