Another One Is On Its Way (GIVEAWAY)
Do I seem like I’ve been a little scatter-brained lately?
Are you suspicious that I’m so determined to give up caffeine?
I haven’t even told you that I’ve been going to bed before 10 pm every night. My DVR is so confused.
Pea Daddy found it odd that I bawled and sniffled for a good thirty minutes this weekend after watching the “Dear Sophie” Google Chrome ad featuring home videos, photos and emails a dad has sent to his daughter over the course of her childhood. (Have you watched this? It should be both illegal for hormonal women and mandatory for new dads.)
The explanation for all of these things is really simple—there’s another one on its way.
Another book that is.
And I’ve been staying up too late, drinking too much coffee and getting all emotional while we were trying to secure the deal. But now, the deal is done, and the fun begins.
Coconut Cream Donuts
Super Spinach Salad
Kung Pao Tofu
Meatless Meatball Subs
Thin Mint Cookies
…and many, many more.
We don’t have a title yet. We don’t have a release date. But we do have a plan:
Lots of totally new recipes.
A few of your favorites. (Mmmm Sauce, anyone?)
Many Pea family stories.
Plus the added feature that each recipe will indicate whether or not they are freezable, lunch box-friendly, an economic value per serving, lighter in calories and fat and if they were inspired by a famous favorite.
I am already having a great time putting this new manuscript together, and I have to tell you, we’ve been eating some really delicious food. (See pictures above.)
But there would be no second book without the first, and all of you who have supported us by buying the book, telling others about it and coming here every day. So for that, I want to say thank you!
What better way to say thank you than with dough balls? (Is there any other way?)
![]()
I’ll pick one winner at random from the comments to receive a batch of dough balls of your choice (original, light or gluten-free) and an autographed copy of our first book.
![]()
To enter, just leave a comment including one thing you’d like to see in a second volume of P&TY, be it a recipe, a feature or more pictures of Pea Kitty. (Yeah, that’s not going to happen.)
I’ll announce the winner in Sunday night’s post.
Good luck and have a great weekend!

Omg, I thought you were going to announce you were adding another pea to the family when I first started reading this post! Congrats on the second book! Wow! (I guess that might be sort of like adding another pea to the family, no?) Hmm, in the next book I think I might like to see more soup or crock pot recipes, since that is about all I can think about now that fall has arrived. Can’t wait for it!
Lots of recipes with pumpkin! You probably already had that planned…..but I needed to say something to win some dough balls and the book!!
OMG, I am SO EXCITED! I can’t wait! *throws confetti* The first book is ah-mazing and I know book two will be just as great. Thank you for giving us easy, healthy recipes for feeding our families.
Get it Mama! I am so proud, I won’t lie I thought you were having another baby. Please reproduce more
LOL! I’m not saying never.
My donut pan will be anxiously awaiting the recipe for coconut cream donuts. Yum! Would love to see more one pot/crockpot meals. Congrats on book 2! =)
I’m already drooling for the thin mint cookies. That’s all I could ask for.
However, if I MUST make another request, it would be a peanut butter mousse pie. A former colleague brought her homemade one to a work potluck and it was the only time I’ve ever been sad about staying away from the things in mousse.
PS = I am so excited for you – congrats!
Have you made the Funky Monkey Pie? That’s peanut butter mousse at its finest!
a pumpkin smoothie!
I’d like to see some vegan main dishes that are spin offs of homestyle cookin’. My husband would be a happy, I mean happier man. Btw….Your tortilla recipe was perfection! My kids loved helping.
Thank you!
WOOHOO!! Can’t wait! You might just make me a vegan yet…..
Congrats on the new cookbook deal! I’d love to see more fast, easy recipes with few ingredients. Also, more quickie lunch ideas. Yep, I said quickie.
I would love some freezer/make ahead meals! Or meals that make a lot!
Yep, I thought it was baby pea #3, too- good one!
I’d love to see quick meals, like 30 min or less, or crockpot meals!
And thanks for everything that you do!
Congratulations! Love the new categories. Looking forward to those coconut doughnuts for sure. Would love some slow cooker or rice cooker breakfasts with different grains – toss it in when you wake up, eat it after you’re dressed.
Oh I like Natalie’s idea…any kind of mousse pie vegan style would be interesting!
Omg! I’m so so so excited. Big congrats to you! Please add more recipes with kale, it’s my new fav. Oh and maybe a peach cobbler recipe. Yeah, that sounds good
I loved your first book; the stories, the recipes, and the pictures. I think I’d like to see more of the same.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I don’t know why I didn’t say CONGRATULATIONS I’m so happy for you here.Oh, no, I do know why. Because I just saw giveaway, refused to read the whole post so that I could save it for the morning (when I always read your blog) and filled out the giveaway part so that I wouldn’t forget. Now that I have read your whole post, and actually know what is going on, I can say that is awesome!
I love your baked goods recipeas. I have a dayhome and love vegan baking with them so they can eat all the batter they like without any raw egg concerns.
Definitely more “home cooking” type recipes!!
I’m so excited! I love all the awesome recipes you make, but the stories made the first book even more special. i’d love to see that in the second book too. Congrats
So completely excited for you!!! CONGRATS!!! You really deserve it. The sneak peak looks great!! Ooh gosh…I can’t think of what I want to see in the 2nd book…packable veggie lunch options??
I would love to see a nice Paella in the book. I’m Puerto Rican, but my mother can’t be bothered to try making a vegan Paella. You’re one of the few authors I think would be able to get it right.
BTW, my father LOVED your Spicy African Peanut soup. He asked me to make a double batch. He has never been as enthusiastic about anything I’ve made as he has been about your fabulous soup.
Awesome! Those donuts look AMAZING.
I would always welcome cute pictures of cats, but since that’s not about to happen… More drinks would be nice! And desserts/sweet stuff, of course. ;D
wow, congrats on the new cookbook. I would love to see more muffin recipes.
I’d love to see more dishes low in calories. I love the idea of including tags indicating freezable, packagable, etc.
I LOVE your book. I love the stories. The pictures are beautiful. And I’d like a ‘p&ty ‘ version of seitan, homemade (Do you do that?!?) maybe you just work smarter, not harder, and you buy it. Like a sane person.
LOVE!
You sure have a way with words! Thought you are expecting another baby pea!
I would love to see: nutrition facts (not so much calories or macronutrients, but more vitamins, omega3s, iron, etc.); entertainment ideas (suggestions for which dishes work well together) esp for various holidays.
SO EXCITED! You go, Mama Pea!
Ooh yes, I forgot to mention, there will be a special section with menus for holidays, occasions, date nights, etc.!
Oh, love that idea!
I’m excited for that too-I would really like suggestions for menus for holidays, date nights, anytime, so I know what dishes go well together.
This is so exciting
Congrats!!! I would love to see more crock pot and freezable meals!
I’d love to see more quick meals that can be made for a lot of people – - I have 5 roommates and would love to be able to cook for them all!
YAY! Congrats! I’m so excited for a second book, I love the first so much!!
I think it would be cute, going along with your labels of if something is freezable or lunch packable, a “kid approved” label (ones that will be great for little-ones and maybe little stories about why Lulu and Gigi love them), and a “man friendly” label for recipes that are sure to please the guys in our life.
And totally not related but I wanted to tell you. My dad is not a huge meat eater, but he has never tried tofu. He was looking at it funny as I prepared your tofu dippers the other night and when I asked if he’d like to try them he said he’d pass. The smells they made as they broiled must have changed his mind because he came over and asked if he could have a piece. And then a second! ;p
Yay! I love making tofu converts.
I would love to see more raw recipes!
“Dear Sophie” is a total sob-fest (I guess I fall into the “hormonal women” category). Congratulations on the book! Can’t wait to get my hands on some more genius recipes.
I would love to see more easy options for lunches to pack! (especially ones that are inexpensive, or can be prepared early/frozen!)
I tried your tofu dippers this week, also, and they were delicious. But hey, I already like tofu, so there wasn’t much convincing to do
I’m really happy for your success, especially because it means more entertaining reading and great recipes for me! When are you going to be on the Next (Vegan) Food Network Star? Or get your own special at least? I’d like to see comfort food classics in the next book!
Thanks, Susan. (blushing)
Wow!!! Congrats…love the first book! I think you should put in the Zucchini Quinoa Lasagna! It’s very yummy!
Already planning on it, Karen!
Congrats! I’d love to see more “wannabe recipeas” – I love your chickpeas and dumplings recipe. The dumplings are so. so. good!
Congratulations! Your book is one of my favorites and I cannot wait to have another one to pour over! In your your next book I am putting in an official request for banana cream pie. It’s delicious and I need to learn to make a vegan version.
You should make the Funky Monkey Pie!
Congrats on the 2nd book! You may have already done this and I missed it somehow, but I’m thinking spiced pumpkin doughballs for the next book… It must be autumn
Congratulations!!! I’m so happy for you, getting another book deal two months after the first release!
I love the product key you have already! I’d love to see a vegan cheesecake recipe
or good lunch bag options, I’m always struggling to pack something delicious and nutritious for the hubby, he can’t take leftovers because there’s no microwave at his work!
Congrats! So happy for you! I’d love more recipes for basic stuff. Like a plain waffle recipe, stuff like that. And as much text as will fit because the stories from the last book were hilarious!
Congrats on the next book! I’d love to see suggestions for roll-over meals where something can be made for one meal but doubled up for future meals. I guess one quick example might be those meatless meatball subs if you said “double up on these to make the meatless meatball casserole on page x” or something to that effect.
Would love to see some seasonal, quick fix, healthy recipes! Congrats on the second book deal!
Congrats Mama Pea! Can’t wait to see the new book.
I would love to see some breakfast recipes. Quick and easy weekeday morning breakfasts that get us out of the cereal/waffle rut!
Ahh thats so exciting!! So happy for you and your family
I would love to hear more about Gigi and Lulu’s interaction with other kids about being vegetarian, if it’s a big thing to other kids/ how they explain it or if thu even talk about it a lot with them?
Whatever ends up in it will be fantastic I’m sure!
Gosh, you already think outside of the pod I don’t know if I can think of anything! Maybe some simple, quick, and budget-friendly(<– Hm, sounds familiar, right America?) recipeas for this broke college student!
I admit, I thought another pea baby was on it’s way, as well. Well, I guess your books are your baby, too. Congrats! I just adore your recipes and share them with everyone. My favorite recipes are yours that use veggies only (not a huge fan of tofu, setan, ect…). Your lentil enchiladas, quinoa lasagna, and chick pea tacos are staples around here. So, I’d more of these types of recipes.
I’d love to see as many low-cost recipes as possible!! Im a broke college student but still want to eat healthy! (and delicious-but you’ve got that part covered
)
Wow! Congrats! I would love to have a feature that has some “meals” in a pinch, like when you only have a few minutes to throw together and inhale a healthy and satisfying lunch before running out to pick up kids, heading to sports practices, etc. and need more than Triscuts and hummus or a protein bar. Maybe could apply to quick dinners as well?
I love that video too, and I cry at anything like that (dang Sarah McLachlan and her animal commercials).
CONGRATS! I’m very excited for you, and all of us, really.
what I’d like to see? you change the name of the meatless meatball subs… to just… meat ball subs. get it? a SUB for meat balls, and… well, it’s a sub.
I actually have a post ready to publish in October (usually not this organized – it’s for Vegan MoFo) and it is just that – “meat ball subs”.
I know, the wit is staggering.
You so funny.
More Gigi and Lulu stories! they are awesome and hilarious
Yaaaaay! Another book! I wish is was coming out right away.
I’m excited to see some “Pealightful” recipes, especially perhaps some lightened up baked goods/desserts (?) as that’s my favorite thing to make. Also, more tofu recipes would be awesome…that Kung Pau tofu in the above picture looks delish, so yes please, more like that.
Also, kudos for giving up caffeine…not sure I could do it, as coffee is pretty much my morning ritual at work. Maybe someday…
P.S. My oven broiler does not work (bummer!!)…any other suggestions on how to cook tofu minus the broiler?
I don’t have a broiler either, so I cook it on my Foreman grill! Winning!
WOOHOO!!!! I am so excited for yet another P&TY book. I would have say that I would like to see more breakfast recipes, I say this because breakfast is what my husband and I really try to just enjoy when the weekend comes and I can’t even keep track of how many times I have made your pancake and waffle recipes, delicious. Also, more stories I love the stories. Good luck!
I have your book and I love it, congratulations on your second book! I am Argentine and would love to see a vegan version of spinach empanadas in your second book. Thank you!
Wow, already a second book and I haven’t yet gotten around to buying your first. I guess I need an autographed copy
. I would love to see a meatless “moo shoo pork” style recipe.
I would LOVE to see what you can recommend for the destitute, time-strapped college student for an easy and filling meal to bring to school and chow on between classes! I hate having to buy food on the fly!
Congratulations!! That’s absolutely amazing news!
I would lovee to see easy to make and not time consuming bfasts/lunches/dinners
Personally, I’d really like to see some great, healthy sugar free dessert recipes (maybe even raw?) – and by sugar free i mean none of any kind – maple syrup, agave, stevia, etc. That would be awesome!
Not another pea in the pod?
Congratulations! Happy news indeed. I love the candid family photos in your first cookbook, so personal that you took most of the photos.
Looking forward to purchasing another Mama Pea book! i just gave my BFF her very own copy of your book for her birthday and she loves it! I would love it if you included even more of the basics in the second book- I’m new to the kitchen and really appreciated how you broke down the seemingly simple stuff in the beginning of the book (like how to press tofu correctly!). Knowing these helpful tips has given me courage to try so many of your recipes. And I really, really, really want those doughballs!
Yay! So excited for the next one. Would love a hearty, bean chili recipe that my husband would LOVE.
(I sold him on your recipes with your lasagna from the 1st book.)
Congrats! I’m looking forward to the new book. I would love to see a Wannabe recipea for Mojo Bars. I love them, but my wallet doesn’t!
If you could put in a section that focuses on reinventing leftovers, that would be so great! (Being a college girl, and cooking for one, I end up with too many leftovers!)
Mama Pea! I really love your blog and I’ve been wanting to buy your book ever since it came out but a college student don’t really have much spare change you see. Recently, I’ve been trying to slowly transition from a meat-lover to a vegan. It’s very hard for me but your blog gives me a lot of ideas to strive to live a meat free life. You made it possible that being vegan doesn’t mean you’re going to eat bunny food for the rest of your life but it could be just as good (or even) better than meat dishes. Maybe in the second book you could add recipes that are student friendly where there aren’t as much ingrediants or not too long of a cooking time. Anyways, I really really really hope I could win.
I would love to see more protein packed recipes
I thought book first and baby second. Chili recipea, please!
I would love to see more pictures of your family life! Pea Kitty too! It makes your cookbook unique.
I would love to see more finger foods/appetizers, for entertaining vegan-style! I am so glad that I found you, just when we decided to make the leap to a plant-based diet for our family. You have made this sometimes intimidating journey so much easier and made me laugh along the way. Good health to you and your family, from me and mine! I can’t wait for a second book!
YAAYYYYY!!!!!!
This is AMAZING news!! Not that I expected any less from the great Pea household! You should definitely work your Sweet Tater Tot Casserole into this one… along with Mmmmm Sauce of course!! They’re to die for and have (unashamedly) been made 3 different times in my kitchen in the time span of 3 weeks. 0:)
And don’t forget to add the Pumpkin Curry with Tofu!! Yummm! Also I’d LOVE if you shared a vegan Pumpkin Pie recipea…. yeah, I have a slightly unhealthy obsession with anything and everything pumpkin
SO excited for P&TY part 2!!!
Is it wrong that when I was suckered into your punch line I was thinking, “Oh no, she’s never going to have time to post anymore!” But I’m certain I would have found it in me to be happy for you. Eventually!
For book two I want more slow cooker recipes! We made the slowcooker chickpea curry stew last night (fabulous!) and I prepped enough chickpeas to do the strawberry mango pumpkin spice chickpea salad tonight (also fabulous). While reading the comment about the girls doing shots of salad dressing my hubby almost shot a chickpea out of his nose. You’re so funny!
Yay for you and your cute family! I’m so happy for you and your success! We love you over here at our house (in Troutdale– we’re neighbors!) We just had your Mmmm Sauce tonight on enchiladas and love it…like I licked my plate afterward kind of love it. I would love a copy of your first book and am excited for you next book too! I would love to see a Thai Green Curry dish– yum!
Omg! How exciting!
I’d like to see some “quick” recipes that don’t require many ingredients.
YAY!!! so excited for you! well for all of us really… im already a Peas and Thank you addict lets just add more to that addiction shall we
lets see.. how about some more recipes from others that have been modified by you. Maybe ones that we have grown up with or have been passed down from generations but dont eat anymore because its laden with fat, meat, dairy etc….
i have a few i would love for you to look at (hint hint nudge nudge)
oh and btw… i survived the day without a coffee but man was i bobbing for apples during anatomy lecture.. my instructor actually told me to lay my head down and nap.. hes pretty cool haha
I would love to see more recipes for one person and recipes to fool my meat loving husband. He has agreed to not eat meat as much, but says he never gets full/satisfied with veggie/grain only meals.
So excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I vote for more whole foods recipes without processed foods, lower fat/lower sugar options, oil-free salad dressings…but yeah, even if you didn’t do any of those things I still would be really excited about this. I loved the recipes in the first book and have made around 20 of them already.
To be completely honest, though, the one thing I could do with less of is the crude humor and innuendo. I hope you don’t take this as offense as I do think you are a funny person and a great writer, it’s just the one thing that keeps me from sharing and gifting this to people. I really hope this doesn’t come across as mean or judgmental. I just want to share these amazing recipes with more people and not have them get offended.
Oops! Typo: “as *an* offense”
Yayyayay! I’d like to see some crockpot meals!
Congrats on the new book! I’m always looking for new ways to get more greens in my diet – so those recipes are definitely most welcome!
I’m so glad! I hope it comes out soon because I love the first one. I guess I really better get a donut pan now.
Yum! I want to eat every one of those things right now. How about a vegan popover or Yorkshire pudding in the next book?
This is such amazing news!! Does it all feel real yet?
I’d love more gluten free recipes. I hate n
This is supposed to say I hate not being able to tolerate gluten.
I also hate hitting enter too soon.
Hi Mrs. Pea! Great post. I want to make Thin Mints RIGHT NOW! I have peppermint chocolate already in the fridge… In the next book I would like to see workout-friendly recipes for someone who is getting into shape. Maybe “workout” smoothies for before or after. I do BeachBody workouts and their famous Shakeology claims to help you have more energy and lose weight. A vegan version of that would be my dream!
Thank You! xoxo
Nixie- Beachbody is coming out with a vegan version of Shakeology! I am vegetarian and have been doing Shakeology since January- it’s fabulous! Your coach should be able to tell you more about it. If you don’t have one, let me know because I just happen to be one!
Congratulations–I’m so excited for your next book! I’d love to see some seasonal recipes (case in point–pumpkin for fall!), and recipes for the vegan who doesn’t like tofu (I know, I know).
YAY!!!! I’m SO excited! Book number 1 is AMAZING, I’m sure book number 2 won’t disappoint! Can I pre-order it right now?!?!?
I’d like to see more snacks, and more of those lunches that you send to school!
I would love to see some delicious vegan bread recipes such as banana bread and pumpkin bread!
Just more donuts!!! How about an all donut cookbook?
I would love to see some recipeas that are college/dorm room friendly! Maybe some more salads or no-cook meals!
My husband and I were just wondering if there would be a second book any time soon. How exciting! Congratulations on your success.
I would be happy to see more lentil recipes. I love lentils. And your lentil “meatballs” from book one are AMAZING! I have no doubt you can work some incredible lentil magic.
Thank you,
Jenny
More gluten-free and soy-free recipeas! And more recipes with peas. And a picture of the girls dressed as peas. And you dressed as fakin bacon.
LOL!
Congratulations! How very exciting. I would love to see more packable lunch ideas in the new book. And maybe some ideas for eating on the road. You did a good job summarizing how you feed the family during your trip to Hawaii. Good luck!
We are going on a trip next week (including Disney again) so hopefully you will have more ideas then too!
Oh! I’d love to know about traveling menu/ food ideas! I know I already answer, but this would be great too! Have fun in Disney (so jealous, we’re going in March). Are there many options in the parks?
Yay!!!!!!!! You had me at Thin Mint Cookies! So excited for you, maybe another pea someday too.
I’d love to see some slow cooker recipes. I’ve gotten the bug…who doesn’t want to throw ingredients in a pot during naptime and have them magically become dinner 8 hours later? yes, please! hooray for book # 2!
I think it would be super fun & educational to add a season to when the main veggies/fruits are available– maybe a page in the index sorting your recipes by seasons? Nothing too invasive but a different way for you to categorize and for readers to select recipes! Or maybe just having yumm sauce as a side with everything? Maybe I’ll just keep that one to myself…
Congrats! More quick lunch/snacks on the go recipes would be rockin’!!
I would say I’d love to see an amazing mac-n-cheese recipe, but lulu’s mac-n-cheese covered that; a great burger recipe would also be nice, but better than ever black beans burgers covered that……I guess what would be best to see in mama pea cookbook #2 would be exactly the same magic that makes your blog and cookbook #1 so endearing to so many people!!
Thank you for all that you do!!!
Easy Peasy Granola Bars?
Congratulations!! I can’t wait for the second book. I would like to see: crock pot recipes, more dips/dressings, and anything with quinoa. Yay for book #2, so exciting!
I very recently found your blog and would LOVE to win a copy of your book! As for what I’d love to see in a new cookbook – I’ve been on the lookout for quick, healthy breakfast and lunch ideas for work and my son’s first year of school.
And I also vote for crock pot meals! Anything to help make our busy life simpler.
Congratulations on your second book deal!! Since I have a such terrible sweet tooth, I’d love to see more wonderful treat recipes in P&TH #2. But honestly, your stories are my favorite part of your blog because they make me smile and laugh – and we all need more of that in our lives
i’d love to see more doughnut recipeas
Crock pot recipes……PLEASE!! Congrats!
CROCKPOTCROCKPOTCROCKPOTCROCKPOTCROCKPOTCROCKPOTCROCKPOT…
I don’t got no time for fancy cooking!
random thought – why is there an “i love beef” ad on the side of your page? that’s a foodbuzz advertising fail…
Congratulations!!!! How exciting! You are officially superwoman in my book!!!!!
Here is what I would like: more pea stories, more recipeas, more of everything!
Congrats on the book!
I would love to see more yummy (and healthy) dessert/treat recipes! Thank you for all the amazing ones you’ve already given us!
Oh my peas! I love love the first cookbook, and I can’t wait for the 2nd! Thin mints!!! so excited. I also love the idea of the indicators for pealightful or freezable recipes, etc. I’ve been in need of some good portable snacks lately, so maybe something like that? Ooh! Also, maybe a holiday recipe section? Stuffing, cranberry sauce, etc? And maybe some desserts made without sugar, and with alternative sweetners like maple syrup? I’m asking for too much, I know I will love everything in the new cookbook no matter what!
Congrats!!!!!
I had a feeling this was in the works and congrats a million times over!
Things I’d like to see more of…
Whatever your little heart desires
If you want to tackle vegan + gluten free baking, I’d love to see that. But it’s YOUR book and whatever is in it will be stellar.
Congrats! How exciting!! I LOVE your bar recipeas… like the KIND bar and Nutrigrain bar remakes… so keep those coming =) I am also excited about the lunch-box friendly meals!
I started following you because of my cute daughter in trout dale. We love you. I am excited about the thin mints!! I am probably most interested in entrees that non vegans would love as well. You do great. Lots Of yours have passed the test.
Okay…I so thought you were going to say you were pregnant again. Lol!! I love the lunch box ideas!
Oh my goodness, I totally thought you were going to say you were pregnant too.
he he! I’m sooooo excited for you’re second book. Yippee! And so cool that each recipe will have those new labels, etc. I don’t know what I’d love to see because everything I see I love. Maybe a new puppy in the mix? Ha ha ha!
Congratulations PeaMama. YOU ARE TRULY A ROCK STAR!
I’m so proud of you. You don’t need no stinkin’ law degree! lol
I say you can never have too many soup and salad recipes. My favorite things to eat. I love farro, so lots of recipes featuring farro in soups and salads would be really great. Thank you, thank you, and thank you, Rock Star Pea Mama!
I’d love more tofu recipes/marinades/stir fries. I’ve always loved tofu in any form, but had never tried it broiled until learning about it from you. Now I can’t go back. And I’ve been trying all of your recipes that involve tofu! I love the marinade for the spicy tofu tacos, the teriyaki sauce, etc. I’d love to try even more!
How exciting!! I think it would be great to have a section of Gigi and Lulu’s favorite recipes! I love reading stories about your girls they’re hilarious
I’m so happy for you! Congratulations! I love your book! I love your blog!
I would like to see more naturally veg ethnic favorites like Indian dals, asian inspired rice noodles, etc.
Omg best give away ever! I’ve been dying to get your first book but being in med school has put me in a tremendous amount of debt so I haven’t gotten one yet though id LOVE one.
Anyway, maybe some quick meals and or seasonal things? Ie valentines day cookies, halloween themed treats, vegan thanksgiving dinner, etc.?
Yay! More desserts, please! P&TY has a bunch, but I always want more sweets!
I’ll gladly share my spinach empanada recipe, and other Pea-friendly recipes, for a palatable vegan cheezcake recipe.
For those of us who share food with non-vegans, your recipes are life-saving.
And your stories keep us going, so PLEASE keep sharing the Pea family anecdotes.
I’d love to see more recipes that are fast, easy and flavorful for a quick weeknight dinner for one! I love your recipes.
Sarah!! I’m soooo proud of you! I absolutely ADORE your first book and your blog (in fact, since I started late, I’m going back through all the pages. I think I’m at 179!
)
I love all potato recipes but would LOVE a vegan scalloped potato recipe, especially with the holidays coming up. I realize this may not happen for Christmas 2011 but maybe a future Christmas!
(((HUGS))) ~ Molly
Oh, my peas!!! Yay!!! And kung pap tofu??? Yummmm. I think you should put a jack fruit recipea. Or something Greek.
Grrrrr. I hate you autocorrect. Kung pao tofu.
I’ve never commented before, but I love the 1st cookbook and make the tortillas all the time. They are so insanely good/easy. Great directions. In your next book I would love to see more recipes that are “grocery store” friendly AND cheap. I’m originally from the Midwest and I’m always looking for recipes to share with people at home who want to cook for me when I’m visiting. Although we have Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods in my hometown, my boyfriend comes from a place where tofu is exotic and vegan margarine still hasn’t hit the shelves of the closest grocery store. A lot of cookbooks require things that you can’t find there, like srichara or… well, tofu! Oh–and if you could share BBQ ideas, that would be fabulous!
How exciting! Congrats! I’d love to see more dessert/baked goods
as well as high protein meals/snacks
HOORAY!! That’s such GREAT NEWS!! A big CONGRATS to you!!
Those photos look terrific — can’t wait to try the Kung Pao Tofu! As for ideas or requests, how about more seitan and crockpot reci-peas?
That commercial gets me all choked up too! Why am I not doing that?! You are lucky because your blog and book are basically that.
As far as recipeas go: Cake pops! And more savory grain dishes, please. And in reply to one of the previous comments: don’t leave out your innuendos and suggestive humor, it’s what makes your book yours and one of the reasons I would gift it… Aside from your truly fab recipeas! Thank you!
i would love to see more snack ideas, such as on the go granola, crackers, etc. thanks!
I’d love to see things I can bring for my work lunch, that are easy to make, easy to transport, and that pleases the pallet of someone who isn’t used to beans, tofu and other things that might show up in a Vegan diet
Yay! Can’t wait for the next book! Congratulations! Would love more quick and easy weeknight dinner ideas. And of course desserts!
YAY! Congratulations! I’d love to see sections on specific ingredients. For example: Eggplant or fennel or beets (root AND greens), etc. And of course desserts. Can never have too many desserts.
I am really excited for you!!!:) Are you going to use the same publisher? I really liked the first book because it gave good short cuts. Making un-cheese sauce from scratch takes time and you offered a great short cut using the Daiya and tofu:) Since I do not have children yet(but are planning a family in the near future) I would like to see more things for packing school lunches. That is something that I worry about for my future kids. Packing things that they will want to eat and not trade for something better. Also maybe a blurb about your exercise routine and how you work it into your day would be great to. Also maybe you could talk about your self more and how you keep your self put together. I know with my friends that are COOs of there families struggle with this. It would be nice to hear if you have a routine if at all.
I dont know if I can wait for that second book! That kung pao tofu loks mighty tasty. Your cookbook is one of those unqiue ones that can please meat eaters and vegos alike.
Oh my goosness! This post just made me so happy/sad at the same time. Happy=i want kung pao tofu now. Sad=i can’t have kung pao tofu now.
i would love to see as many stories, pictures, and chocolate recipes as possible
Congrats! That’s soooo exciting! I’d love to see some more ways to make pasta interesting. I love pasta!
Also, what about seitan? Are you ever gonna get into that? Not sure how I feel about it. Looks tricky…. Anyway, congrats again. I’m thrilled for you!
Congrats on the second book! In the next book I would like to see fewer soy products. I would also like to see some more crock pot recipes!
I agree, not a fan of too much soy. Maybe on the recipes where soy products are used an alternative choice could be offered?
I love the book so much! I would like to see more slowcooker recipes and restaurant revamps. I am really looking forward to the next one!
i would LOVE more recipeas that do not include packaged brand name items, as they are unavailable in my country! Thank you
Dessert recipes that use beans! I always find those the most fun to make but only have a few good recipes.
I’d like to see normal pictures of you and the fam, not the photo shoot perfect ones,
what do you Really look like after a full day, baking and cooking dinner??? Lol,
good luck, Seems like the first book is doing great!! I don’t ever cook, (i only have a kitchenette, and a very limited budget) but if I did, I’d buy your book,
I’d also like to see many more Gluten Free recipeas!
CONGRATS!!! I’m a visual person and would love a picture of the dish next to the recipe more frequently in the next book. Call me lazy, but I hate turning the page
Yes, I agree…I definitely want to do it this way for the next book!
Along those same lines, it would be great if the title of the recipe was written again after the story about it. I often had to flip back once I got to the actually recipe to remember “what was this for again?”
Hello Pea Mama!!! Congratulations on the new book deal!!!!! That’s awesome!!! I am a newbie to your blog and I have to say I just ADORE you and have had so much fun reading your posts over the last few weeks!!! I think you are my long lost twin sister ; ) A friend “introduced” me to you (your blog) because of it’s name… I actually have a Children’s Yoga & Health Education business called “PEAS BE WITH YOU,” :Great minds… ; )
Any who… My suggestion for the new book is that it be spiral bound… (I like my cookbooks to lay flat when I’m cooking) just an idea ; ) Thanks for the opportunity!!
Take care and good luck with the process!!! ~ Danielle
More pictures. I’m a recipea-a-phobic, so pictures of everything, the way you do on your blog is appreciated.
Love your book, love your blog and love you. I’d love to see more hilarious stories and of course great recipeas.
But what if I want more pictures of pea kitty?? Honestly, I just love reading the stories about your lovely family, and as long as there are lots of those in the book I’ll be a happy camper!
Yup, it will be a blend of stories and recipes, just like the first one!
More seasonal recipes and some sugar and stevia-free desserts.
I’d love some more soup recipes. They are my favorite thing as the weather cools off
YUMMM!!!I I would love to see recipeas with quinoa and peanuts! I love the combo!!! I also love your book and would be ecstatic to have the new one!!!
Congratulations on the new book!
Slow cooker meals and soups, stews and casseroles. I live alone and like to cook once and eat for a few days (good thing I don’t get food bored quickly!).
More tofu in its various forms.
And pumpkin. Definitely pumpkin!
Do I win now?
As much as another pea would be sweet, another book tastes way better.
Seriously, I’m so happy for you. I’m glad the powers that be [and get you to sign book deals] see that you’re just as awesome as we think you are.
congrats!!!
i’d love to see more quick, soy and gluten free recipes – i’ve been cutting WAY back on both for the past few months (my body doesn’t process either ingredient very well), and i’d love some new, creative ways of working with the restrictions
Congrats on the next book!! I love your recipes and blog, so I can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us! I’d especially love to see more entree ideas that are soy-free, and dessert recipes that are low in sugar.
Good luck writing and creating!!
I would love to see some seitan – you’re big into tempeh, which is great, but I’m a seitan fan! Tricky for GF folks, but it’s so yummy!!!
The prospect of book #2, very exciting. Congrats. I would love to see some more soup recipes and maybe some featuring Seitan, as I am afraid of it. I’m convinced you can make me like anything.
I would love to see more Fall/Winter inspired recipes. I have already bookmarked all of the ones you’ve posted on here but is there such a thing as too much pumpkin? I moved out to Arizona from Ohio almost 2 yrs ago and I get incredibly homesick during the late months of the year. Also, I do most of my cooking and baking in the “cooler” months here as it is just too hot to fire up an oven when it’s 120 degrees outside….So maybe some more no-bake recipes (especially desserts… I have a sweet tooth.)
The more recipes the better! I’d love to see some quick recipes – or slow cooker meals – and maybe an icon indicating recipes that take less than 45 minutes start to finish.
hmm…maybe some recipes for snacks (crackers, etc) to keep on hand? or quick and easy meals requiring minimal ingredients. i’m all about convenience!
Oh gosh, how exciting!
I’d like to see some crock pot friendly recipes! I’m in grad school and trying to transition into more veggie meals, and don’t have the time to cook anything expansive a lot of the time – so some crock pot meals would be _great_!
Gluten-free vegan and kid friendly/husband friendly are what I am looking for. (Not that I’m looking for a lot, mind you!) With a vegan, a gluten-free kid, and 2 omnis living in one house it’s nice to have things we can all eat together!
hey Mama Pea..Im writing to you from a hospital bed.. I had a huge flare of ulcerative colitis, but while in here I have had alot of time to peruse your blog.. IM in LOVE.. I started out weighing 370 pounds. I was diagnosed with uc when I was 16 years old. pot on steroids and gained weight to 370 pounds..
well my nephews was sitting on my lap years ago and he made a comment that changed my life.. he kept pointing at my 370 pound belly saying baby. trying to explain to your nephew your not pregnant. he must have been about 3.. he said than you just fat..
talk about words to bring life changes into my life.since than I HAVE released close to 200 pounds.on my own.. no surgeries, no diet pills.. just nutritious eating.. mostly plant based.. I gained a few pounds back when I lost my father to cancer and copd in July this year.. I took my mom in which suffers from a stroke. so I have alot on my plate, but I am determined to continue my journey and finish it and I think your website will be a great resource.
I eat a plant based diet with a few meats and seafood, but I am cutting out meat more and more.. I love almond milk and agave is my choice of sweetner. I have 50 more pounds to lose to become a healthier person. I eat very different from my family.. I will choose a apple over a doughnut.. does that sound weird? a good salad.. I make a spinach salad with crasiens, oranges, spinach and almonds so good. meat is becoming more a condiment than a main attraction
i cant wait to continue to read your blog and learn more.. my dream is to become a wellness and health coach.. help people see that they can release weight the healthy way.. no tricks, no fast fixs.. I want to open my own wellness center and help america revolt against unhealthy eating and learn to eat healthy , exercise and live longer lives..
I am really loving your style, your blog and your view point in helping me validate to myself its ok to chose a different style of eating.
as to what You can add . absolutely nothing Your amazing.. you put your heart and soul into this blog and your recipes and share with the world your views on a healthy delish nutritious way of eating that can change lives..
so thank you for being You. thank You for making me see im not wrong in my way of eating .. just because I choose to eat different.. its ok.. its my way of eating and I dont have to justify my choices to anyone . its my life.. you may not share my way of eating, but it doesnt mean its wrong.. Im just different and You know what.. I am fine with that!
Many prayers for you, Lyneta. Follow your dreams and keep working hard for your health–you deserve it!
thank You MamaPea.. I really look forward to trying your recipes.. if I had a printer I would print everyone of them.. would buy your book, but right now money is really tight with taking mom in along with hers and dads bills.. its been rough living in a household that shares nothing you believe in by way of eating, but I am staying true to what I beieve in.
want to set good examples for others to follow.. for anyone that wants to have a good health site.. if you dont mind this is where I log my foods and hold myself accountable.. the founders are firm believers in eating as much plants and unprocessed foods as you can
the site is Peertrainer.com.. it a great place to log foods.. seek encouragement or a swift kick in the bum.. whatever you need.. just wanted to share..
well my scope is in the morning and Im thirsty and not allowed to drink and looking at all your recipes im hungry.. only clear liquids all day.. so Im off to sleep..
blessings to you and your goals to reaching america and helping it become healthier.
MAMA!! I think the only appropriate response to this news is AW YYEEEAAAH! I can’t wait for more Pea family stories and anecdotes! I am so pleased for you!!
I’d love to see some “man friendly” lunches. My husband will eat vegan if I fix it for him and I’d like to send him to work with vegan lunches so he’s not tempted to go out for lunch.
congrats mama pea! i’d love to see your version of panera’s cream of chicken and wild rice soup ; )
Congrats on your book #2! I can’t believe it’s happening again so quickly, seems like you just published this one! I’d like to see a whole section devoted to new dough ball variants :p and slow cooker meals!
Breads and scones
Some nice healthy pastries
I think my husband would like to ship our kitties to hang out with Pea Kitty. Let’s just one has a unique ability to jump on his… Manly parts several times during the night, and the other one is a bit weird. He’ll trade for hairbally Pea Kitty.
I love the first book and would love some husbandwhohatesveggies type of recipes!
Peas peas peas pick me!!!
Poodles so excited i forgot to add that I would love to see more snackies for little ones’ lunch boxes! Great soups would be great. And Mexican flair food.
Congratulations on the second book! I can’t wait to see your new recipes. I would love to see some recipes for make-ahead packable lunches, and easy slow cooker meals. Also, more donuts!
Congratulations!!! You deserve it all and more. Can’t wait to add the second book to my what can now be a Pea cookbook collection. If possible I would LOVE to see a recipe for paella and recipes that utilize stevia. I’m really sensitive to sugar, but just can’t seem to get stevia to work in baked goods. Would love to see your take on it!
It would be awesome to have more quick, school night dinners that can be reheated again and again. Also, it would be nice to have measurements for the nutrition facts, like 1 cup. Some said 1 cookie, others said 4 servings. I love the book though and I am definitely buying the second one just to hear the stories
. Well, not just the stories, the food is amazing as well!
Very exciting news. My fiance and I are loving each and every one of the recipes we try and they truly are expanding our horizons, vegetarian-ily speaking. I enjoy the anecdotal stories and really appreciate the photos with every recipe. I think it’s so helpful to see how the recipe’s creator intends the dish to appear!
You totally got me!! Congrats on the second book!! I’m a huge fan of GF recipes, but I love all your recipes!!
Congrats on the new book!
I’d like to see lighter dessert recipes..or maybe optional substitutions to make them lighter. That would be really handy when baking for my diabetic family!
CONGRATS!! That is so huge! But really, they’d be stupid not to work with you on a second book after your New York Times Bestseller- on the first try!! You should be SUPER proud, and we’re so excited to be on this journey with you (again)!
I request more make-aheads, and freezer meals, one-pot dishes, and crock-pot meals! And more version of Mmmm sauce, because i can literally put it on anything and it will almost make me forget that there isn’t any bacon in it
Wow congrats, I can’t wait for this next book!! I’d love some more soups!
MY prayers have been answered. Another book on its way!! Because of you and your ‘book’, I am changing my family over to ‘yourside’. Best part is, we are all feeling better, and looking better. Love the idea that you will note if the recipes are able to be frozen, good for lunches, etc. That I NEED! So, thanks for working so hard on your newest edition to your family.
no way….a 2nd book?!?! yes please! and in the next book….maybe more specific on the serving size. like if a cup of soup is xx amount of calories, then say that rather than it serves 4. i dunno…i’m just so excited for a second book!!
Love the first and can’t wait for the second! I would definitely say the mmm sauce should be in there. We use it on everything. I’ve even used it as a base for a really quick curry by adding some coconut milk and simmering it together.
I love the foundation type things like broiling tofu, roasting chickpeas (love!), and the tofu chocolate ganache. These are great because they lead to other dishes by tweaking seasonings which really encourages a non boring vegan lifestyle.I love that I find myself using the book as a reference for oven temps and measurements one night, but then exact recipes (dough balls!) on another night. It’s these interesting techniques that keep me coming back.
Well that and the promise of new donut recipes hehe.
oh yay!!! Congrats! I would love to see nutritional data for the recipes
Please replicate the Starbucks black and white cookie. I can’t even find a non-vegan recipe of it. IT. WAS. AMAZING.
Btw…I use ur Sunshine salad dressing at least once a week, and turn one person onto it. It’s so freaking good! Non veggies LOVE it!
I would love to see kid friendly recipes, if my 2-yr-old sees any veggies in his meal he says, “that’s salad, Georgie no like salad” FRUSTRATING. Love your blog, you are hilarious!
Congratulations – I can’t wait for the new book!
Anything you make would be great. New sandwich ideas are always welcome!
Honestly Mama Pea — I LOVE my P&TY (Round 1) cookbook, so – I’d love it if you just keep doing what YOU do best… and I’m sure we’ll all love Round 2 as well!!!
Super-excited for you!!!
Congrats!! Would love to see anything really! Everything always looks so delicious.
Well, I’m a cat lady so I wouldn’t mind more pictures or features about Pea Kitty.
Congratulations—so happy for you! I love that you are tying in the freezable, pealightful, etc categories. How about a re make of whole foods chocolate chip scone. I’m sure I will love everything in the new book…just like the first one
Looking forward to the new book since the first one might soon become the only cookbook I have from which I have tried all the recipes. Some of the cookbooks I have just sit on the shelf.
More GIgi and Lulu stories! I love all the ballet-football-school chronicles
Love the first book–I think I got some people hooked:) This may sound silly, but I bought a pressure cooker and would like to use if for something–any good recipes for that would be fun!
Hearing the news of your new book just made my Friday that much better!
I’ve had your Mmmm sauce with your Summer Succotash Quesadillas for the past 6 six nights…I’M ADDICTED
I would love to see different versions of sauces like Mmmm sauce or different Mmmmm sauce flavors. I’d also love to see more smoothie recipes.
ah good luck! i still haven’t gotten a copy of the first, but when i plan to, i have a feeling it will become my cooking bible
Already looking forward to the next book!! I love the idea of having the icons, too. I know it will be filled with delicious recipeas and halirious stories. Keep doing what you’re doing and it’s sure to please everyone
Hurray! I’m so excited. Everyone at work already knows these recipes by heart! I’m THAT girl that opens her lunch box in the teacher’s lounge at lunch and has to explain everything she’s eating because everyone is interested. Then they’re really interested when I tell them its all vegan!!!! I’d love to see some more lunch ideas. I struggle with what to pack! I’ve eaten the Green and Red Lentil Enchiladas everyday this week!
I even had to bring in an extra serving one day because my co-worker was dying to try it.
Congrats!
This comment might get lost among the masses but I just wanted to say congrats! I’m so excited for your second book (even if I haven’t got the first… but would really love to add it to the collection)!
If my opinion could help, I’d love to see recipes like your cake pops (even though they were a little sacrilegious for you to turn good cake into balls) because you 1) you make it look feasible to do 2) they’re hella expensive at Starbucks 3) you turned something loaded with butter and far much healthier!
Keep up the great work Mama Pea, I’m reading your posts on a daily basis and I love your inspirational quotes- add a few of those in there too!!
Pa: I’m quoting you in my blogpost tomorrow at littlemisslocal.com
do you prefer mama pea or Sarah Matheny?
I guess I prefer my name, but you can call me whatever you want
Sorry to hear about your Disney pics being deleted- I’ve done that before and its not a good feeling, but you’re comedic approach to the situation made me smile =)
Here’s the post I quoted you in: http://littlemisslocal.com/2011/10/01/frenchspiration/
Thanks, Justine! I’ll check out your post!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! congrats on the next cookbook!!! Your becoming a regular betty crocker;) I already have your cookbook but i want another one to give to a friend:):):):)
My local chinese restaurant makes the best hunan tofu! Im sure its loaded with msg and all that jazz so i tried to make it myself based on other recipes i found online but its not the same sooooooo I’d love for you to attempt it:)
Sooooo how long do we have to wait?! Love the icons! Maybe shopping lists? Congratulations to the whole Pea family!! I think you need to call that radio host back and remind her what a successful woman looks like!!
congratulations on book #2, sarah! woo hoo!
keep up with the corny jokes (that is a compliment, btw) and puns – they make you, YOU!
I’ve just found your blog and I love it! You can never have too many desserts in the new cookbook!
Soup, pumpkin recipes, desserts, and Mmmm sauce.
Congratulations! My husband and I are not vegetarians but we are trying to transition to more meatless meals. One of our favorite things is quinoa. It would be great to see more meals (savory or sweet) that include quinoa.
Congratulations!!!! You are a superstar:) wish I didnt live in Australia so I could try win some dough balls..but alas will just have to whip up another batch..
Congrats on the new book! Well done you!
More slow cook recipeas please and obviously more of your gorgeous girlies. My daughter thinks they are her own personal friends now that we have the book out and open on the kitchen table all the time…..x
OMG- I am SO excited about the new book. Please consider some gluten free recipes… maybe gluten free tortilla or wraps. I love making wraps, but haven’t found any good gluten free ones yet. Thanks so much, I’m sure the new book will be amazing.
Pumpkin cookies, pie, bread. It’s that time of year and you could do it up right !
First of all, so excited! Love the first book so far and planning to buy a few as gifts for Xmas. I was surprised that mmm sauce wasn’t in the first one, so definitely a must for the second! Love the family stories, pictures, and meat substitute meals (the nd is still adjusting to the idea of eating less meat). Can’t wait for book #2!
I’d love to see a lot of holiday themed lightened-up recipes!
How very exciting! Congratulations. I would love to see more muffins for me. I love the baked goods but really the part of the first book I use the most is the dinners and lunches. Those wonderful hearty dishes that I can give my husband. He eats them, loves them, and he is full after. I am a to a point where I can make most sweets and bake goods vegan but dinner dishes. No way!
Congratulations on the delivery of your second book. I’m looking forward to seeing your new bundle of recipes. Remember to get your rest! I’d like to see more crockpot recipes.
Woo hoo! I would like to see more cookie recipes
Congrats! I can’t wait for the next book. You should see the cover and pages of the first one, it looks like i have had it for years (I am a messy cook)!
Slow-cooker recipes would be great and I love the idea of having meals labeled as ‘freezer friendly’. Higher protein meals/snacks would be great, I know it might not appeal to a larger audience but as a long distance running and active woman I have a hard time hitting my ‘protein quota’ w/o getting overstuffed on vegi’s;-)
omg, this is just plain wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited! This is such a great news. If the second book is anywhere near the first book… then it is definitely going to be another winner! I bet whatever you put into it, all those lovely family stories, yummy recipes, that is all I am hoping for
congratulations! i would like tosee a veggie cheesesteak!
Yay I’m so excited you’re planning on writing another book! I would love to see some more recipes with sweet potatoes- I love them so much, I just can never think of anything to do with them besides bake them or make “fries” out of them!
Thanks!
I love your creative ways! Can’t wait to get started on new recipes! Thanks for your time and energy thoughtfully put in every page. I’m always in search of lunch box fun, if I had to make request
OMG congrats!!! I am so excited for you! I haven’t had a recipe fail yet with your cookbook or with the recipe’s on this site.
) I love that most of your recipes serve 4, the food feeds my husband and I dinner and then lunch the next day. I find your recipes very easy and quick to whip up….so I would like to see more of that. Some more cork pot recipes would be good. I’m sure whatever is in the new book, the recipes will all be amazing!
Congratulations!! For your next book tour, your people (I seriously just typed peaple…
) better be booking you on Ellen!!!!!
I’m excited to see more lunchbox recipes because I pack for me and my honey almost every day.
LOVE your book, made tofu for the first time with it and haven’t stopped since:) Can’t wait for the new one!
Wow! Congrats! Can’t wait for book #2. I’d love to see more crock pot recipes. Having two teachers in the household doesn’t leave much time for cooking at the end of the day! And some “man friendly” recipeas too…some things my football coachin’, McDonald’s lovin’ hubby will eat too!
I’d definitely like to see more “hearty” favorites that are sneakily vegan.
My SO isn’t a big veggie eater, so making 2 meals is sometimes a bit trying.
I don’t know if this fits conceptually into the New Book, but a meal or two where you could make it vegan, and then had a little stepping off point to potentially add meat to half of it — that would be sweet, heh.
Congrats! I started crying watching that ad…and I don’t have kids! Can you re-do monkey bread? Its seriously so amazing, but also seriously unhealthy!
I’m so happy for you !! I absolutely love the book. Since I think the book is perfect, I think I’d like to see the cost per meal so people can really see how affordable all your recipes are
Congrats Mama Pea! I’d love to see some more traditionally meat dishes remixed as vegan. My husband is considering dipping his toe into the vegan pool, and more “meaty” dishes might help him make the decision!
More lunchbox recipes would be great!
Congrats! I’m a self-proclaimed breakfast obsessor, so I’d love to see tons and TONS of breakfast recipes. And I’d also like someone to drive me to the beach so I can eat said delicious breakfast recipes while watching the sun rise over the ocean. Can your new book do that, too? …Pleasesayyes?
Congratulations, superwoman! I’d like to see an entire chapter dedicated to the time your publishers flew out that Aussie blogger Wayfaring Chocolate to spend a week in your kitchen…
Wow a second book deal? 2011 has been an incredible year for you and your family- many congratulations!
I would love to see some more crockpot recipes now winter is just around the corner…
Perhaps you could give Lulu a special segment where she gives each of your recipes a rating between 1 and 5 pickles?
I’d love to see more ideas for things I can pack in my lunch.
I’d love to see some recipes that are quick to prepare and/or some that use a limited number of ingredients. Those types of recipes always appeal to me for the middle of the week dinner options!
How wonderful! Congratulations!!
I’d enjoy more recipes without gluten, soy, and corn. I’d also appreciate a couple easy meals that can feed a crowd. Thanks so much – you’re so great! Blessings to you!
Congratulations! That’s so exciting. I’d love to see more fabulous pictures like the ones above!
Ok can I admit I don’t have the book yet. But i picked it up at my friends house the other day and hope to get a copy too. Your story is so inspiring. I love the stories you tell before the recipes so those would be great in the second addition. And maybe some holiday inspirations…
I love quick and easy recipes.
Oh my heavens I really thought you were going to say a baby!!!
Another book is just as exciting though. I would love to see more meat in your next book. LoL, totally kidding. I honestly can not think of one single thing. I loved everything about your first one. The pictures, the stories, the recipes. If you made another one exactly like the first, it would be just perfect.
Yay for another book!! I saw your book while out and about (in the Florida Panhandle) this week and got so excited. It was like a “Hey, I know her…” kind of moment. I guess I spend more time reading your blog than I thought. All your recipeas look delicious and I’m excited to see what you’re cooking up for this next go round.
I am interested in the recipeas that you send to school with your daughters (kid-friendly recipeas). I have a two year old and a baby on the way, and the main driving force behind me wanting to eat the “right” way is so I can be a healthy momma to them. While my husband isn’t interested in selling out to the vegetarian/vegan lifestyle, I really want my children to have a better start than with the Standard American Diet. I’m encouraged to see that your girls are happy, healthy and eating what you cook for them.
I would also be interested in budget-friendly recipeas. Seriously, seeing the rise in food cost literally from week to week is depressing. I refuse to fill up on the cheaper processed crap, but still want to be excited to eat dinner.
Well wishes on your upcoming project(s)!!
oh good stuff! I am excited! I’d love more GF recipes. COme on, lets see how much more creative you can get. Is that even possible?! haha.
I would love to see more gluten free recipes!
So exciting!! Those coconut doughnuts look amazing- please pass me one through the screen
hmm….. I would love to see more recipeas that can easily be frozen.
Congratulations on book number 2! I’d love if you put more baked good recipes in this one – like scones! I am in love with your Starbucks-esque Pumpkin Scones!
Can’t wait. It looks like you have it covered but I’d love to see lots of packable salads, good for lunches for my older kids, in the second book!
I’d love to see some dinner recipes that make for good leftovers for lunch at work the next day!
Congratulations!! So excited!
Some recipes I would love to see are a healthy, mushroom risotto,
Cornbread and veggie chili, and BREAD PUDDING-chocolate, pumpkin…..any will do!
Good luck!
Can I be totally picky and ask for a few more gluten-free recipes as well?
Congratulations on the success of your first book and the upcoming second! I am thrilled for you (and a little selfishly for myself since I really, really, really want more PATY books)!
Honestly, I can’t think of anything I’d like to see more in a second version. It was awesome the way it was! I guess if I had to pick something it would be more pumpkin recipes
There’s never enough of those!
in the second book I would like to see more pea kitty..haha just kidding:)…..I would probably want a whole book full of your mouth watering looking desserts!!…crossing my fingers on you telling me my wish will come true
I think that anything you add to a second book will be awesome. Congrats, Sarah!
I’d like to see a few meals that can be made ahead / frozen for future use, for those on the go go go!
Congratulations on your second edition! I love your blog and all your recipes…so just more of them would be great! Always looking for new favorites!
Congratulations! I’m so happy for you! I think the key that you are planning to provide will be super helpful. I never know what is freezable! Another idea is to section recipes by season. I rarely see that in recipe books, but when I do stumble upon such a book, I find that feature really useful, especially since we have a home garden. Congrats again!
See how excited I get? I skipped right to the comment section to congratulate you without answering your question.
I would love to see lunchbox friendly options. I always find packing lunchboxes a challenge. Our school is peanut free so that adds an extra challenge.
I would like to see…..more doughballs. Congratulations on the second deal. If I don’t win this copy, I am going to Amazon to purchase mine because I think this book is necessary in my kitchen. Also, I love how the “vegvalue” icon is a pig!
Congratulations! I’m excited about the new features, especially the freezable icon. I would love some more baking recipes!
I am so glad. I loved your first book, and your humor, and of course the recipes! The lentil meatballs are fabulous so anything you put in your second book will be good so I will buy it no matter!
Great news! Congratulations to you! We vegans and our nonvegan friends and family are loving book 1, it is entertaining and the recipes ROCK! We would welcome anything from raw vegan to slow cooked recipes with not too sugary sweets and desserts. We have been especially diggin the kind/protein bars and have been creatively using other seeds, nuts and dried fruits in delicious adaptations of your recipeas. Thank you so much for being around and sharing your yummy goodness, Mm Mm Mm <3
Yay! I’d like recipes that could keep in the fridge for a while since my freezer space is limited.
Yay! How wonderful! Excited especially about the “lunchbox friendly” and “freezable” sections
. And more baked goods, always
.
Congratulations! Maybe a section featuring after school snacks? And and more crockpot recipes!!! Crock pot recipes would be great!! Can’t wait for the second book.
I’d love to see more omni-pleasing meals, like the ones your hubby goes crazy for. I’m trying to convert mine, and he’s so picky!
CONGRATS! I knew you needed to have another book, at least thats what I thought, but I didn’t know how soon you would be working on it! OMG the mint cookies!!!!! Those look so good!
All your ideas for the new book are great! I would say either maybe add a holiday section for recipes to cook for holidays, or slow cooker recipes!
Congrats on this girl! You will have another New York Time’s Best Seller, no doubt in my mind!
xoxo <3
Congratulations on another book!! Guess the coffee will be a staple until the book is done. haha. Your cookbook
is one of the most interesting cookbooks ever…..it’s a book, a blog and it has great recipes too!! I bought one
for my friend too and she loves it! I would love to see a tempeh chili recipe and some crockpot ideas. I would
also like to see some information about tofu….I really didn’t think it was good for you to eat all the time. I thought
fermented soy was better (tempeh)?! I don’t really like tofu so more recipes without it would also be enjoyed!
Good luck.
Yay, I can’t wait! I never in my life thought I’d enjoy tofu, but you changed that!
I’d like to echo previous comments about more crock-pot meals – as an insanely busy graduate student on a crazy schedule, the crock pot is one way I can make sure to still eat healthy (and avoid the oh-so-prevalent temptation to just go out to eat every night).
Or some easy way to search for recipes based on the season – right now I’m definitely craving a lot of pumpkin!
Also, some more recipes with a spicy kick – be it a good hot and sour soup or a pasta with a zing, I’m a sucker for spicy stuff!
Can’t wait for the next book!
Whoops, forgot to say CONGRATS!
I don’t usually like to mess with perfection, but if something had to be added I’d say more toddler friendly finger foods.
Thank you for making me a blubbering idiot at 7:30 a.m. That Google Chrome ad was PRICELESS.
Anywho, I’m so excited for you scoring another book deal! I would loooove to see a few recipes that are dorm-friendly eats (i.e. raw and/or don’t involve anything but a microwave). That might be departing from your book’s theme but if you could work it in there, us college students would be in Heaven!
Congratulations on doing a second book! I went to the store to get your first a while back and they didnt have any
I would love to win this copy (and the cookies, obv) – Something I would like to see in your cookbook is definitely freezable meals!
Yey on another one on the way! My husband and I are huge college football fans who tailgate and love having people over for games, so I would like to see your perfect “Football Saturday Spread” that would satisfy both meat eaters and veggies alike.
Yay!
That’s so exciting! I’m loving freeze-ahead meals right now, so that’d be great!
Thanks for the giveaway!
although this will probably drive up the price, i’ve always appreciated cookbooks with a spiral binding so it can play flat while being referenced during cooking as opposed to weighting the pages with bowls of batter and having it slip and close on me.
my bff is turning 29 this weekend. i think i should bake her a pealightful bday treat!
i think im the only person who didn’t think it was another baby…hahaha wooo! congrats!
what about the pea’s take on 5 ingredients or less?
How about more recipes that take less than 30 minutes- I’m lazy!
Congrats! Loved your first one
would like to see more gluten free recipes like Carly, or at least clear labeling of which recipes are already GF without tweaks. Thanks!
Congratulaitons! I was so hoping for a second – and third, and fourth….. book!!! Something I would like to see in your new book is a recipe for pizza dough with instructions on how to freeze it in dough form and then specifics on how to thaw and bake it. Also more crockpot meals and maybe some good popsicles, although I wouldn’t vote for a pickle pop. I’m so excited for you.
Congrats! I still have lots of recipes from book 1 to make, but I can’t wait for the second one either. I’d love to see more veggie burger recipes. I love the thai burgers in book 1!
I would like some main dish meals without some of the stranger ingredients. ha, I am a meat lover, but I don’t mind cooking vegetarian or vegan…I just dont’ want to buy seitan or tofu. So meals or side dishes that are naturally vegetarian/vegan would be great!
Yay! Congrats on the second book! How exciting is that! My busy life doesn’t leave much time for cooking healthy meals that take a long time…so I’d love to see more quick meals and crock pot meals. (Love crock pot meals since you can cook them at your desk at work and then when you get home they are ready to eat..yes I know that sounds crazy but like I said..I have a busy schedule lol)
Oh my goodness Mama Pea! I am so excited for you! I started reading your blog after I bought your amazing cookbook. I feel I have always been a kind of healthy eater, but you have helped me take it to the next level
I would love to see more adorable stories and one-pot meals. I love having an amazing meal with minimal clean up. Thanks for all of he inspiring recipes!
I’d love to see some Asian-veganized dishes!
It’d be neat to have a section that talks about Gigi or Lulu’s favorite recipe. Or some insight on a meatless meal from Pea Daddy!
Yay!!! So excited for another book! I loved the Thai crunch salad with teriyaki tofu so I would love to see more entree sized salads. But could you please hold off on releasing the next one…..I still haven’t tried everything in the first book.
I would love for you to make the nutritional information easier to understand. In the first book a lot of times the nutrition would be for a serving, but what constituted a “serving” was never said.
Besides that, just more food.
I’ve been enjoying your heartier recipes and would like to see more of them–like the tamale pie and pizza quinoa dishes. Thx!
I am soooo excited that there is going to be another book!! As soon as I brought the first one home I read it cover-to-cover. The next day I took out my sticky notes to tag all of the recipes I want to try – almost every page has a little pink strip on it.
I’ve already tried the crazy good hummus, crack wrap, Mediterranean lentil ‘meatballs’, black bean burgers, homemade spaghetti sauce, and peanut butter dough balls. And I can’t wait to make more – everything has been de-li-cious!! For your next book I’d enjoy more great recipes and pictures of both the food and your family! And more totally cute stories about Gigi and Lulu.
Congratulations on a 2nd book! Personally, I CAN NOT WAIT to read it. Your 1st book was amazing…it actually got my husband to agree to eat 1 meatless meal per week (favorite right now it Mama Thai’s dish). Even better though, it that he loved the first few dishes so much, there is no convincing needed. (Thank you for that by the way!) In the next book, maybe a Mama Pea version of Coconut Cream Pie?? Again, congrats and I can’t wait to see what you come out with next!
So excited! I live off your first book! I would love to see more lunchbox friendly recipes since I’m needing them for college life!
There can never be too many recipes involving chocolate. Or peanut butter. Or other nut butters. Mmmmmm.
Congrats Mama Pea! That’s so exciting!
What do I want to see? Anything. I love ALL of your recipes.
Maybe–dishes that follow seasons–so that we can eat what is readily available? Also, glad you are including lunch box ideas!
I really cannot wait to get back to the States in a month and a half so that I can buy your first book. Shipping to Africa is a little hard. Last thing my family sent to me took 2 months… But I would love to see vegan ice cream or a vegan cheesecake that really tastes tangy like a good cheesecake should! I’d love to see more Wannabe Recipeas since I’m in college and I have a lot of non-veg friends, so I’d love to see remakes of favorites to make for them.
I’d love a great lasagna recipe! What a great giveaway!!
Oh joy! I just love your first cookbook; everything we have made has been fabulous. I am also in the process of reading the blog from start to finish and it has been really fascinating for me to see the evolution of your recipes over the last few years.
Could I request more crock pot recipeas? And also, it would be great to have more veggie burger recipeas! I love the Thai veggie burgers, but it would be fun to see some with other beans too! (I have made an amazing edamame one that I found online and modified…it is addictively good! Also a great garbanzo bean one with cilantro!).
Thanks for all the work you are doing to make healthy, delicious food approachable and easy to make.
Yay! Thats so exciting.
So, when ever I pass a Sonnys BBQ with my Dad in the car, without fail he will mention how when I was a child that was my favorite restaurant and how I loved to eat pulled-pork BBQ sandwiches!!!! (Really?!?!)
I would love to see a “pull un-pork sandwich” recipea wannabe….
Congratulations on your second book! How could they nt say yes to you and all your fans?! Can’t wait to read more stories and eat more of your food! I would love to see some recipeas that are kid friendly and super healthy, maybe even a recipea or two that are for the little guys to make themselves with supervision of course!
YAY!!! What exciting news!! I can’t wait for the 2nd book to come out and I hope (actually, I know) that it’ll make the NY Bestseller list too! I’d love to see more of the Veg Value recipes, as well as some more of your granola/protein bar creations, because no one makes bars as good as yours!
I’m all over those thin mint cookies! I could eat a box in one sitting…is it Girl Scout cookie season yet?
Congratulations! I would love to see more quick and easy recipes with not many ingredients.
Congratulations on the new deal! I would love to see more gluten and soy-free items…for snacks and lunches. Yum!
I’m buying your book TODAY! FINALLY! (I had to wait until payday. I really hate budgets!)
I tought you were going to say you were pregnant!! : )
I’m super excited about another book. Congrats! I’m new to this lifestyle and need all the help I can get. What resources did you use when you first started your vegan lifestyle?
i wanna know what the girls favorite recipes are, they have such good tastes (clearly they’re in preschool and 1st grade and love all this health food, you’ve done well) and those coconut cream pie doughnut look AMAZING!
ik usually only people with websites win the contests, but i had to try (:
i love your dough ball lites
I hope the Protein Trail Mix cookies make the cut because I live off of those. I love that recipe! I had an expensive container of pea protein which tastes like dirt. The Protein trail mix cookies totally hide that awful ick dirt taste!
I also think a section on what you buy bulk vs packaged vs online. Or maybe who is going to have what, like WF having Daiya + vitamins+ bulk bins, Trader Joe’s having staple frozen items items + produce, and conventional grocery stores having giant jars of minced garlic. After what I have been paying at WF for a tiny jar I am totally going there.
Whatever you do I support you and will for sure snatch up that second book!!!
Great news! Those thin mints look amazing, you inspire me so much! I don’t know if possible but I would love to see a bialys/bagel recipe with spinach or green chiles.
I’d like to see more recipes I can sell to my husband, but the “meat”ball subs seem like a good place to start.
Congratulations!! Those pictures of new recipes look sooo good. What I’d really like to see in the new book are more recipes with pumpkin! Maybe it’s just the time of year but you can never go wrong with a little (read: a lot) more pumpkin
I am a college student with only access to a microfridge in terms of cooking appliances. I would love to see some quick and easy recipes that require few ingredients and only a microwave and fridge, especially sweet treats. Thanks.
This is so awesome! I can’t wait 1) to eat that spinach salad and 2) for your next book. I admit a little disappointment that its not a book AND a baby
.
At my age, every calorie counts, I’d love more pealightful recipes. Thanks.
Since i am new to this blog, I am now going to purchase your first book! AND WOW- Congratulations on the second book deal! I love the recipeas from this blog so much I cannot wait to purchase the first book let alone a chance at the second book!! I would love to see tips on how I make my favorites (home made pesto, ratatouille, and quick breads like zucchini bread) without as much oil, or eggs for the breads?
Thank you for your delightful blog!
I would love to be entered into your giveaway! In your new cookbook, I would love to see all of the healthy recipes you have to offer. I try to eat a lower calorie/fat vegan diet and I would love to have these options in your new cookbook! Thank you!
Katy
More snacks! And desserts are always nice. Those doughnuts look amazing!
maybe you can do the cover page in a subtle hawaiian print?
you could reach a whole new audience!
More nutrition info (e.g., which recipeas are high protein? vitamins? etc.)
recipes that kids can make themselves
I found you from Kath Younger’s site. I’m not veg but used to be and have “tricked” the hubs into meatless Mondays. Now that he’s on board with that, I’d love some new dinner ideas. I’m dairy-free for allergy reasons so DF recipes would be great. Would love to try your dougballs!
Congrats on the second book deal!!! So great! I’d love to see additional easy lunch ideas.
Great news, but when I saw the donut picture I thought we were getting that recipe, LOL! So excited for a new book, but those teaser pics…..I don’t think I can take it.
You Rock!
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!
I would like to see the “Pealightful Plans” in the book.
That is awesome news!!!! Congrats!!!! Can’t wait for book 2!!!!
Congratulations on the book deal!! That is so exciting! I would love to see more crockpot recipes for those lazy (or as some say busy) days.
Oooops…I was so excited that I forgot to answer the question! I would like to see quick and easy meals. Seems like I never have time to make things in the evenings and we end up eating this and that.
I am so excited! I would love to see more freezer recipes! And maybe a feature on how to stock a pantry/fridge if you are a new vegan.
Huzzah! Good deal on the new book—already have THE book and love it and it needs a sister-book to sit next to it on the shelf! We ALL need more desserts—-I vote for more sweets!
Keep up the good work and for entertaining us all in the mornings when we open email!
Slow cooker recipeas for sure!! And as a newlywed, I can say that your cookbook has made me a happy wife–all I have to do is put a sticky note on the recipea we have planned for dinner and my husband has it ready when I get home!
congratulations mama pea!!!!! i’d love to see more grilled items (which might be hard since it’s winter)! i love using our grill in the spring/summer/fall and we have an indoor one in the winter. it’s just so easy!
Congratulations! I’d love to see more crockpot meals. As a law student, I am loving the crockpot my momma gave me before I moved here, but it is hard to find filling, vegan crockpot meals. I made your slowcooker bbq tofu and it was delicious! Thank you!
yes please!! i would lovve the book!! p.s… love all recipes so im not sure what i would want to see!!
Congratulations Sarah! I would love to taste those thin mint cookies! I can’t think of anything specific I want to see but am totally looking forward to what you come up with!
More roasted chickpea recipeas? lol
Quick and easy meals would be awesome! Looking forward to book 2!
I’m just happy that you have another one on the way!!! Congratulations! I absolutely loved the first one, and I bet the second will be even better. You rock Mama Pea!
If you could nail meatloaf I would LOVE you and you would be my new hero! Oh, wait; you already ARE my hero! Could you just nail a meatloaf please?!
Congrats on the second book! I hope it comes out soon. I am excited about your new feature that will give the economic value per serving. There are weeks that are tighter money-wise for us and I don’t want to give up our healthy eating habits so opting for lower priced meals is important.
I would like to see some meal plans and more lunchbox items!
Thanks for working hard to be a success- your cookbook is great and we can’t wait to see the next one! You inspire me to keep on working on what was once just a “hobby”…
OH SARAH!!! I knew you’d do it!! Love the first book – can’t wait for #2!
I’ve been stalking your website for a few months now and am so excited you are coming out with a second book:) I have already purchased your book, but would love another as my two sisters have kids that would LOVE your recipes. In the next book, I think it would be great to have a recipe for a vegan, oil free pesto. I have been experimenting and have found a couple recipes that are suitable, but I am certain you would be able to concoct something delicious. Also, a stuffed squash recipe of some sort (butternut or acorn squash, wild rice etc.). I don’t even like waiting 24 hours for your next post, this is going to be tough waiting for the next book. Congrats!
Yay! In your second book I would like to see more recipes for the slow cooker (crock pot) – I use mine all the time for beans/soups/chilis/oatmeal (if you have a crock pot that allows u to set a start time, what is better than waking up and having your coffee brewed and breakfast hot and ready!) but would like to throw in some more variety. Can’t wait to see all the new recipeas!
I LOVE your first book. I would love to see more slow cooker recipes in #2!
Yeah for a 2nd book! I’d love to see more delicious desserts with less sugar…
Oh, congratulations! A new book-I’m so excited! If I had to ask for something in the new book, maybe a section for quickie meals! Thanks…You rock!
I’m excited about the lunchbox ideas. It’s not too far in the school year and I already feel like I”m in a rut. Congratuations!
I’d love to see more hearty soups. I live in the midwest and when it gets even remotely cold, soup is what I crave a lot. But really, anything and everything is welcome, I’m just so excited that there’s another one coming out!
I saw that commercial last week and I thought I was such a LOSER when I started crying!
I would LOVE to see a recipe for a Chicago style deep dish pizza! I am sooo excited there will be a new book! I love the first one and cook from it all the time
Hooray for another book! That is so exciting. I would like to see a budget friendly/few ingredients section.
We’re vegetarians and wanna-be vegans; one thing that’s tough for me is cooking vegan recipes that often have sooo many ingredients, or ingredients that are impossible to find in my small southern town. I guess I’d love to see more (I know you have many!) simpler meals or crockpot meals.
I’m still drooling over what to make from the first cookbook. Wow #2 already! That is so exciting. I’d love to see more crock pot recipes too. I always love desserts and easy suppers too!
Love the idea of designating recipes that are lunchbox-friendly (that is great for adults who pack lunch for themselves every day, too!).
I’d love a section on ’30 Minute (or Less) Meals’ or something like that — maybe even non-cook meals? (Like interesting ideas for wraps and salads)
So glad to hear that you’re publishing another book. I would like to see more meals that do not include tofu, tempeh, etc. as I have a husband that will not eat those items. I’ve been modifying some of the recipes to exclude these items, but I’d love to see more recipes that do not rely on them. Of course, I would eat it if it was up to me, but the hubby doth protest…
More slow-cooker recipes, or at least instructions on how to make it slow-cooker style.
Oh exciting! I’ll admit, I still haven’t gotten your current book. But it’s on my wish list – hopefully a bday present!
You are living the life!
I’d like to see some good, healthy snack recipes. I’m definitely a snacker and need some new inspirations!
yay! Another book! That is factastic! I would love to see more pictures—I love looking at pictures of anything…food, people, food……and it’s great to see how your girls have grown from the 1st to the 2nd book. Can’t wait for it to come out!
I would love to see more pealightful recipes. Congratulations!
i want to see lots of quotes from your adorable little peas
I’d love to simple one dish meals – stuff like the tempeh tamale pie. Easy to make, no big cleanup, and good leftovers for adult lunches.
While I love all the delicious desserts you post, I’d love to see a few more healthy treats. That cookie pie looked amazing but 1/2 cup of oil makes me a little worried to fit into my skinny jeans!
Congratulations!! That is great news. Happy Pea Weekend!
Hi Mama Pea-congrats! I echo many others when I say that I would love to see some more slow cooker recipes; I just purchased one and would love to get fun ideas for it. More bread recipes would be fun too!
Yay and congratulations! Considering I’ve worked my way through your first cookbook already, I’m super-excited at the prospect of new recipes. Some more non-nutty desserts, please. I’m allergic to coconut, almonds, and cashews and missed out on several of your yummy looking desserts. Also, I love easy meals like your tofu nuggets — I make the marinade the night before, press and marinate the tofu in the morning. It makes getting dinner ready so easy after work.
I like the idea of recipe-makeovers (or unders?)…and maybe the bandwagon-ish things, like 5-ingredients/5-minute meals? Excited for you and your family regarding this new endeavor!
P.S. I tried tempeh for the first time last week due to a post you did on it, and my family loved it (including my beef-loving husband) as a sub for ground beef in my marinara sauce. So, tonight, we’re trying your sweet potato tot casserole (can’t remember the exact title!)…looking forward to it!
First off, I am a newer vegetarian and I use your cookbook ALL the time, love it all (except for seitan – I just can’t embrace it!!) I would love to have more slow cooker recipes and/or 15 minutes or less recipes. Also, this may not be a recipe but some info on how to get good protein with my meals. I am a 6 ft tall, muscular, serious weight lifter/avid exerciser so I need a good bit of protein every day. I am struggling with figuring out quick and easy protein sources. I have discovered one can have too many lentils in a day! Thank you
I think all of your recipes look great.. Congrats on the 2nd book. Maybe make something with carob in it as I am allergic to chocolate.
Congratulations! This is such amazing news! Most of our meals are some version of a recipea and my husband is finally completely content with veggie dinners, now! Woohoo! As far as what I’d like to see in the book? Hm, maybe even more casserole dishes that can be prepared ahead of time? I’m guessing that most of the freezable meals will be like that. Yay, I’m so excited!
This is amazing!! Congrats! I would love to see more recipe make-overs
Quick & easy lunches for working gals!
Congrats!
You should publish where to buy donut pans! Seriously. I can’t find them anywhere.
Yay! Congrats to you and the rest of the peas on the 2nd book – very exciting, and the preview of recipes in this post look delicious. I’d love to see anything with chocolate.
Yeah!!!!! I’m so happy for you, but even more for me!!!! I can’t wait; just let me know when we can preorder! THe toughest time in our house is breakfast. My girls usually wake up during my workout and have to wait for me to finish, or fend for themselves (my husband’s on deployment). We usually grab the cereal (not the best option) and we love your pancakes and oatmeal bar in the book, but need something a little easier and quick.
Congrats Mama Pea! there are two things I would like to see, first something with banana “pudding”, either something with vanilla wafers or a pie. Also, as a working mom, I’d love to see quick recipes w/ maybe 5ish ingredients.
Mina
Oh you saucy word-mynx. I, too, was caught-up in a “OMG IS IT A BABY OR IS IT A BOOK?” line of thinking when I first started reading. I should have known that the two aren’t mutually exclusive! Can’t wait to hear more about it as things continue to progress!
More soup recipes please!
Roasted red pepper and tomato soup. A wannapea recipe because the originlal by pacific foods is totally and completely delicious, but has low-fat milk in it. And that makes my stomach unhappy. =(
PS I AM SO EXCITED. another book!!!!
I have recently started reading your blog and love it! I asked for the book for my birthday and can’t wait to see what it has in store for my family. Would love to see some ideas on make ahead. As a working full-time Mom of two it is a challenge to get dinner on the table every night in a timely manner. Looking forward to the lunch box ideas as well. Also looking forward to getting the first book. Thanks for all of your great ideas.
Hmm… maybe some “tips and tricks” for morphing meals? There are all of these websites telling you how to use a rotisserie chicken for like 7 meals, but I’d love to see some easy make it and morph it recipes! (I am deeply sorry for saying “chicken” in reference to meat on your blog! It’s almost as bad as asking for more Pea Kitty…)
Would love to see more of your delicious scone recipes. Can’t wait for the new book.
Congratulations! I’ve been reading for a while, but never posted. I love all of your recipes, they all look delicious, but I am not much of a cook…so I got adventurous two nights ago, and made the tofu dippers, mmm sauce, and pumpkin spice bars. All were DELICIOUS. I have to say ‘thank you’ for putting the ingredients in the order they go in the recipe (whether it’s on purpose or not). I found myself dumping ingredients in the bowl and saying CRAP are they supposed to go together! But low and behold, yes, they do, because you’re too smart for me
. In the new book, I would love to see more of the nutritional information. Thanks! And again, congratulations, you deserve it!
Heyyy! I’d love to see more GF… Maybe doughnuts… And granola. Anything CHOCOLATE. Yum! I’m already excited for it and would love to win dough balls
I’d like to see more packable lunch ideas for taking to work.
This is such exciting news!
I would love to see more portable breakfast meals!
I’m so not an emotional person and having kids scares the living crap out of me, but I bawled like a baby when I saw that Google Chrome commercial! I think I re-watched it and forced my husband to watch it another 10 times.
I would absolutely love to see the Tempeh Tamale Pie in the new Pea Book!
I love the ideas your adding, espcially noting the freezable. I personally love soups- maybe soup and bread combos? On a side note, I loaned your cookbook to my coworker who informed me she is not giving it back! Luckily I have another ( had purchased 2 to have the ‘just in case’ gift on hand) Congratulations on another book- awesome!
I would love to see how you would replace BBQ pulled pork sandwiches.
THIN MINT COOKIES!?!?!? I never imagined making those myself! I don’t know how you do it! And by the way, I definitely fell in the trap, I thought you were going to say you were pregnant! Haha but a book is just as exciting! I think I’d like to see minimal ingredient recipes! My biggest problem is that I live alone and it’s hard (and expensive!) to keep a stocked kitchen, so maybe a few recipes that are 5 ingredients or something like that?
You need to the story of Gigi’s “pet dog!”
How about a yeast doughnut recipe? Although those Coconut Cream Doughnuts look amazing.
Congrats on your second book!
Pizza, pizza, and more pizza recipes!! LOVE pizza as you can tell. Also, any chance for a gluten and dairy free pizza recipe? My 17 mo old son is allergic to both.
Thanks and congrats!!
You just made my morning! I’m so excited and happy for you peas! I’m just happy to see some thin mints, the mmm sauce and some pea-lightfuls on the list. How about those “blue cheez” stuffed black bean burgers?
Congrats!!
Yay! I can’t wait, I’ve already been through this book (and I’m totally repeating every single recipe)! I hope your family stories still stay in the book because I really love hearing about why a recipe came to be
First of all congratulations! For me I loved the first book a lot I would love to just see more new recipes, I loved the layout and stories of the first book (please don’t take the stories out – I sat and READ the whole book which I have NEVER done with a cookbook before!). I need more transition recipes in my life – I’m a Vegetarian but my family still eats meat, they like meat replacements so far and we are slowly cutting back on their meat consumption.
Looking forward to the new book! Still enjoying the current one, many more recipes to try!
I think it would be interesting if you would include some other ideas about living an “animal friendly” lifestyle, for example, your choice of personal care products, clothes without leather, etc…. Or maybe how you talk to your children about compassion for animals and why your family makes these choices.
p.s. made noodles with peanut mmmm sauce from the blog…. the title says it all!
Anne
MORE STORIES! you are such a gifted story-teller, i feel like I know you and your family! Thanks for creating such delicious meals!
Oooh thin mint cookies, yes please! I always would like more soup recipes! Or what about a book entirely involving hummus? hahaha
How Exciting! I’m loving the first book. I would like to see more main dishes that are soy free.
Thanks!
Congratulations! I wish you an easy ‘pregnancy’ – at least you don’t have to buy new pants, right?
I’d love to see soy-free recipes.
Congrats! I still need to get my hands on your current book. Needless to say, I’m behind the times! I would love to see more gluten-free recipes. Thanks for all you do with your blog! You crack me up on a daily basis.
I love the icons you’re using to code the recipes, and I like to take my time to make family meals most of the time. Right now I am in the throes of the fall soccer season with two little girls in two different leagues, which means four days a week of soccer. So I need QUICK recipes that are healthy and tasty too! Perhaps an icon for: can be on the table in 20 minutes or less?! Or offer time saving shortcuts on longer recipes?
It it very enjoyable to read your posts–you are too funny! There have so many moments you’ve described that I have lived, and it is good to know I am not alone (a baby wipe “shower” and a fresh coat of deodorant–been there. Had no idea I didn’t invent that technique!)
That is great news! I’m always looking for healthy, quick-ish and affordable recipes.
Would love to see more meal makeover/unders? And maybe 5-ingredient, 5-minute type meals? Anyway, so excited for you and your family and the new book…Your “old” one (haha) has been a hit with the friends I’ve gotten it for as gifts. They DO talk about the recipes, but they all rave about the hilarity in your story-telling ability. =)
P.S. I’m making your Sweet Tater Tot (title?) Casserole for dinner tonight – yum!
I want you to have another baby and put it in the book!
JK
Congratulations! I knew you had WAY more good recipes than could fit in one book.
I’d love more “quick” meals – ones that take less than 20 minutes to make. And maybe some single lady dishes!
I would love to see more soy-free recipeas as well.
)
Congrats! I feel like you’ve covered pretty much everything, so how about some more about seitan? I recently discovered this ingredient and would love some unique ideas for it.
Mmm thethin mint cookies got me thinking about other Girl Scout cookies. I would love to see a Wannabe Tagalong cookie!
Congratulations – can’t wait for a new book! I would like to see more packable lunches and one pot meals – the crockpot is my friend!
I’d love to see some single serving recipes!
I would love some 30 minute or less meals! Excited about your second book.
Ha, I , too thought another baby on the way!! Can’t wait, I’m almost through the entire cookbook…it can’t come soon enough!! LOVE your idea about a holiday section! I would love to see more crockpot meals, drinks (esp. really healthy ones!), and a vegetable potpie would be amazing!! I love your doughs, so more of those would be great too. Pretty much anything!!
Congrats!! I cannot wait for your second book! My first one is getting so worn I may need to by a new one!!
I would LOVE to see vegan pumpkin muffins with some frosting like “cream cheese!” or Chai frosting!
This meat eating family is loving your cook book/blog and not missing meat so much! Thank you so much for making my family eat healthy choices!
i love the idea of noting what will be freezable! i live by myself and always have leftovers! its great knowing which recipes i can freeze
Oh wow, I am so incredibly excited! Peas and Thank You (the first cookbook) has quickly become my go-to weeknight cooking companion- I just love it! I’ll can’t wait for the next book. I’d love to see a section dedicated to picky eaters (read: my kids and vegan skeptic family members and friends).
Cheers!
My vote would be for more whole-foods recipes or as much as possible anyway. I love your first cookbook and have no doubt that the second one will be just as amazing. More lunchbox ideas, too, please.
Really? Those coconut cream donuts are ‘nuf said for me to be in the book. Oh and maybe a Peas take on the Pumpkin Cheesecake muffins at Starbucks, but we’ve already discussed this! Can’t wait for the second book!! Congrats! Yummmm!
I just made the muffins this weekend. They were gone by Monday.
Congrats! I am so looking forward to the Kung pao tofu! That’s one of my favorite dishes.
The donuts look lovely as well.
OMG!!! So excited about your new book. I got the first one on its release date and lets just say it is well loved and has given us good recpies but also made this change of lifestyle much easier. I have never used a recipie book so much! I reciently was dying to try the chocolate pie. I was a little nervous because of the tofu but It was awesome. I took “the book” on vacation with me and made the pie for my family who lets just say are not lovers of any kind of Tofu and they loved it.
In the new book I would like to see some crock pot creations as well as I like the idea of recreating some family favorites. One thing I really liked about your book is the way you layed out the benifits of some of the ingred. you use that was really helpful..
Thanks for making cooking wonderfuly tasty and good meals easy for our family!
Aurora
Yay! Love the first book! It would be great if you could add another little label for gf recipes in the 2nd book. I’m used to figuring out how to substitute ingredients to make a recipe g-free, but sometimes it’s nice to just read the recipe and not have to think about it.
So exciting!! I love the freezer meals idea. Crockpot meals and meals made in under 20 are always great, too!
I would love more pics and stories of you and your family. The girls are so cute!
i agree, more packable lunches would be great!
#1: Totally thought another baby was on the way as well.
#2: I am so so happy for you!
So what I’d like to see in the new book? More Lulu skunk photos and more crockpot recipes! Love them both!!
No changes needed, bring on the new recipes, jokes, and family stories!
Hip Hip Hooray! Can I place my pre-order now?
I’m really digging the crock pot soup (spicy African chickpea and peanut stew), so I’d love to see more of those. Or, if you’ve got any 5 ingredient, grab and go meals, those would be so useful!!
Congratulations on book #2!! Very Exciting!! I would love to see more crockpot recipes. Looking forward to the freezable recipes too!!
I loved your first book, so definitely keep all the funny stories that came with each recipe(a)–you had me laughing the entire time I was cooking! Also, more easy, crockpot recipes would be great for a grad student like me!
a crock pot section would be great. can hardly wait to try the thin mint cookies… yum!
I agree with more slow-cooker recipes, orrr vegified “Chicken Divan”
Very exciting! I’d personally love more soup and smoothie recipes (especially green smoothies). I love making soups ahead of time for the week. And I have a smoothie nearly every morning for breakfast. So a few more of both in the rotation would be excellent.
That said, just more recipeas would be fantastic!
hmm, for the new book i’d like to see more quick and easy lunch ideas! oh, and pumpkin muffins. i love pumpkin.
and dough balls!
and your book!
Oh my gosh – I’m so excited!! For you and everyone who gets to enjoy the book! Yah! Mmm, I’m gf so lables that signify recipes are gf would be wonderful, although I realize sometimes it’s just an easy tweak; otherwise, basically anything whole food / working family friendly vegan would be fantastic!
Congratulations! I can’t wait for the second book. I love the freezables! I always make too much tomato sauce and now my freezer if full of it. In the second book, in addition to freezables, I would like to see ways that you can re-purpose those freezer items into new meals. There is only so much spaghetti a girl can handle.
Oh, and suggestions, I would love one pot meals as well, especially with lentils.
A second book is very much deserved! Congratulations!
I think Mr. Pea Daddy should have a section of the book devoted to healthy versions of “Manly Meals”. He could be to Peas and Thank You what Dan Marino was to Nutrisystem.
Congratulations!!! More kid friendly salads please.
A section devoted to pickle making!
Also, something like cook once, eat twice!
i think you are terrific already!!
quick, easy(im not very bright) , and snack recipes are my favourite.
i also really love when you sorta recreate storebought faves, like the nutrigrain and kind bars.
i hope i win!
xxx
That’s great news about the second book! I really enjoy your “Wannabe Recipeas” and would love to see more in the second book!
More soups and stews! Congrats on the new book.
Congrats! I LOVE the legend or tips to make the recipes you need at any given time easy to pick out! I am especially excited for lots of freezable meals and would love to see crock pot recipes too!!
I would love to see some crockpot meals — I love my crockpot but I need more ideas!
Congrats! I’d love to see you put your spin on some more gluten-free recipes. You can do it. I know you can.
Wowza! Congrats on the second book! I would love to learn more about manly veggies meals that I could trick my boyfriend into loving. He is not a fan of tofu (although I am trying diligently).
Crock pot meals and calorie counts if possible. Thanks!
Exciting!
I’d love to see some meals that can be adapted small or big. I know, it’s just a few measurement calculations, but I don’t like to have leftovers
YAY! I’m so excited for the new book. My favorite part is the stories that go with each recipe, so I can’t wait to read more of those. I also really like your dip & dressing recipes, so more of those would be welcomed! Congrats!!
maybe holiday themed recipes? thanksgiving can be tough for non-turkey peeps!
I would love to see a section with something to the effect of man-friendly veg meals (i.e. Pea Daddy’s favs) – most of your recipes are “man friendly” but having a chapter dedicated to that would be awesome! Perhaps he could even write a bit?
Free Pea Daddy! Hahahah
Congratulations on snagging another book deal! I can’t wait to see which new and exciting recipes make the cut… I would love for there to be more grab-and-go breakfast items included. Hope you and the rest of the Peas have a great weekend!
Congratulations on the second book!! I’m excited for the lunch-box friendly meals – and would love to see more easy/finger food things for kids to eat – like the tofu dippers!
Ahhh sounds EPIC! Definitely more budget-friendly meals in your new book…I love when you create posts where you calculate how low of a cost it is to eat vegan AND healthy!
SO happy for you, Mama Pea!!!!!!!! Best of luck with the ‘reproductive’ process
I would LOVE to see more gluten free recipeas in the next one!!!!!!!
Congrats. Totally thought you were adding another pea to the family. But would love to see more packable lunches and crock pot recipes.
Congratulations!! So excited for you! Though I’d love to see you have a third little pea so us new mommies can see how you raise a vegan baby from the ground up!
I’d love if you had “serve with” suggestions. I made your gnocchi (sp?) the other night but was feeling uncreative as to what to serve with it and ended up without a side dish. Not that a heaping plate of gnocchi isn’t delicious, but it would be nice to have ideas for when I’m flipping through my cookbook making my weekly meal plan!
We just had the seitan carnitas the other day. More crock pot stuff!
And congrats!
Yay, another book!
Perhaps you could include a recipe for chocolate peppermint dough balls?!
Recipes for vegan versions of Girl Scout cookies would make me a very happy girl… As would a batch of dough balls
I am so excited for the second book and can’t wait to get back to the US this summer so I can bring it back to Tanzania. As a teacher, I would love to see some recipes that the kids can make all by them selves in a fun, kid themed way. Congrats on the second edition.
Woohoo for a second book!!!! I can’t wait! I’d love to see a some more recipes that call for a few ingredients that are usually on hand for those nights when you want something quick, healthy and delicious
Congratulations! This is awesome! I’ve been meaning to ask you to remake black and white cookies. Because they are also awesome.
oh c’mon! I was definitely hoping for more pea kitty lovin!! haha
Congratulations on the 2nd book!! That is so exciting!!
Congratulations! I can’t wait!! Honestly, we have loved everything we have made out of the first book so I know the second book will be great no matter what is in it!! I’d love to see a few more slow cooker meals. My girls swim till 7:15 at night so it is sure handy to come home and dinner is ready!
Congrats to the well-deserving Mama Pea!!!!! I can only imagine the happy vibes and (even more) good meals taking over your house right now! I’d be lying if I didn’t say I am already just happy enough to look forward to the thin mint cookies and coconut cream doughnuts! Holy yummness indeed!
Oh WOW! Congratulations! I can’t wait to see the new book! I would love to see more packable lunches. My little guy will be headed off to kindergarten next year and that means Momma will be a packin’!
How exciting! Bet you wanted to tell the shock jock the other day
I would like to see titles of recipes just before the actual recipe in the next book. I read your whole first book in one sitting, but after that I’ve used it in a more utilitarian way, so flipping pages is less convenient. Worth it, but less convenient.
Can’t wait to buy it!
Congrats!!!! That is so great! I LOVE your first book and can’t wait for the next one!
Um, I think it would be great if you added something in your next book to get me to MAKE the recipes instead of just reading them while eating yet another can of beans.
Congratulations! I would love to see more uses for leftovers! I love eating them, just not the same way over and over again.
That is VERY exciting news! Congratulations, and best of luck to the entire Pea Family during the writing of this book!
I am very excited to see these new labels for value and packable. Also, what would be really cool is if you could do some recipes for fewer portions–things that are easy and worth it to cook only one or two portions, for those of us who don’t have children. Also what would be great is dishes that can tie into each other– i.e. making something for one recipe that can also be saved for a day and used as a main ingredient in another recipe the next night. Thanks!
exciting! would love to see some more easy veggie focused, non-grain meal alternatives to salads. Salads are great and healthy but I get tired of them pretty quick, and all of my go-to quick meals seem to involve bread/pasta of some kind, which I’m trying to get away from.
Oh my lord I thought you were pregnant at first. Lol. I would love to see more soups in the next book!
Congrats Peas!
This is THRILLING–your cookbook has already become the most food-splattered and crinkled paged one on my shelf (the very best compliment, I assure you). You definitely deserve this, and I’m so looking forward to getting a copy of numero dos!
As fas as wannibe recipeas–the one thing that I miss the most since giving up dairy is goat cheese. I have had many a vegan ricotta, but nothing can quite equal the creamy tang of goat cheese, and I miss adding it to everything. I’m not looking for a replica, but something equally as stellar would be fantastic!
Yea – another cookbook! Love the idea of tagging the recipes as packable, light, and freezable. You did have me fooled with the title, I expected an announcement of a third little pea.
I’m making the Sloppy Joes from your current book for some veg-curious friends coming over tonight – future Mama Pea fans, I’m sure!
Yummm!!! Sweets are my huge thing so I would love to see more healthified desserts!
I’d love to see Game Day inspired appetizers and treats! ….but really anything more from you! ;D
Wow, congrats! It’s really amazing that you’ve discovered your passion and truly run with it! All the new photos you posted above are tantalizing. I can’t wait to see the recipeas. In the new book I’d like to see more no bake/ no cook 5-10 minute snacks and meals. Even those that need to be put in the fridge overnight. As much as I love spending time in my kitchen, this mad busy world doesn’t always allow for this.
Wow! You’re on a roll, don’t stop now! I’d like to see more baked goods – be it bread-related or desserts.
So exciting! Congratulations! I hope the second book is much like the first, staying true to your mama pea style! I love the organization and love your new ideas to take it even further. I would love a ridiculously easy section as I’m often overwhelmed with my boys at my feet and some nights feel like taking the easy road!
Congratulations!! I’m particularly excited about the “packable” label — it’ll probably be irrelevant to me because my program ends in just seven months, but I just started school again and have been on the lookout for good lunch recipes. And I know how much you love to hate it, but a couple more crockpot recipes would be fantastic. Thanks for everything; love reading every post!
Congrats! It will be great to know which recipes freeze well. I’d like to see more Wannabe Recipea deserts!
desserts* whoops
I feel almost tortured knowing this is in the works but also knowing I can’t have it for probably a long time. How can you keep that cookie recipe from us (said in a very whiney voice)??? Aw man! Anyway…I have to tell you that your cookbook has quickly become one of my absolute favorites (and I have over 100 cookbooks in my arsenal). The recipes are simple to make but so so good. But you already knew that.
I’m slowly making my way through it.
As a new vegetarian, seitan is something I definitely want to try, but I’m a little scared of it. I would love to see some recipes from a person I trust (you).
Congrats! That is great news! I would love kid friendly recipes, and maybe tips on cooking with toddlers, or how to entertain them so you can actually cook!
Oh man, I was really hoping for some baby news
But since its not, I would love to see a couple of crockpot recipes, perhaps a few gluten-free recipes, and a story by Gigi about how her school friends react to her lunches. ‘No bologna?’
OoOoOoOohhhh I can’t wait!!!! I’m really looking forward to the packable lunches and budget friendly reci(peas)! I get so excited for your daily posts, Congrats!! <3
I am so excited! You are superwoman to do these books back to back like this! I would like to see more make ahead, easy foods for lunches. Also, soups, we we go in to Fall I remember how much I love soups!! Thanks for doing a giveaway!
I am soooo enjoying your book and when I started reading this post, I, too, got excited (and almost teary-eyed) thinking you were having another pea. Congratulations on a second book! That is Fabulous! I made the Double chocolate-Single chin brownies last night and they are yummy. They seemed a bit under cooked in the middle, but they seem to have firmed up a bit in the fridge. I would love to see more crock pot/freezer recipes. I also love your stories!
Very Cool! So happy for you..and for my family! We love your recipes!
Can’t wait for the 2nd book! I know this has been mentioned in some of the comments left, but I would also love to see more crock-pot recipes.
Good Luck with the 2nd book. Again…Cant wait!
Very cool – congrats – I’d like to see notes on how to make the recipes slow-cooker friendly
I’m so thrilled that you will have another book published because I loooove the first one! I would like to see more low-fat/fat-free options in the book if that’s a possibility, but if not, I’mastillbuyit.
I love the new features you are going to add! I would love to see anything you make your first book is perfect!!!!
Congratulations on the book! I watched the clip you posted of your cooking segment on TV and I think you really could be a Vegan Foodnetwork star!! That will be the day, when they get rid of the “Heartattack 101- lets fry this and dip it in a white flour batter” type shows and replace them with vegan/vegetarian shows…
Anyway, I would love to see more ‘Rock your Lunchbox” type of recpies! I have only had to buy food at work twice in the past three months, I’ve been bringing all SORTS of home made yummyness to work for lunch (it actually makes me more excited about my lunch than buying something out!) but it can be a challenge to think of new ideas! I’m sure you would! I like lunches that incorporate a protien (falafels, veggie burgers) and greens as well as whole grain
Congratulations! Your cookbook is my favorite and that’s saying a lot! Can’t wait to have two.
I love your baked goods as well. Gosh, I think the more donut recipes the better. I will need to break in my new doughnut pan.
I just made your brownies last night. A-maz-ing. I love it. My new go-to brownie dish.
I guess I would also dare you to do more one bowl baked good recipes. I love it when I just have to use on bowl.
I’d love to see some of your husbands favorite recipes, and maybe some of his thoughts on becoming vegan. I think that’d be great! But anything you write will be worth getting my hands on!
Congrats! I am so glad there will be another cookbook!
I think what I would love to see is a small section on meals for one. For those very infrequent night when you have the house to yourself and you want to make a delicious meal without making a giant mess in the kitchen. Even if it was just some of your recipes adapted a little bit for one person, I would love that!
Keep up the good work and pick me!
Wow, congratulations! Not that I’m surprised.
Hard to top the 1st book, so I’m low on suggestions. My ice cream maker has been gathering dust, though, so some lower-in-refined-sugar, healthified ice cream recipes would be awesome what for keeping me away from Ben and Jerry and all…
I like the healthy ice cream idea!!
PIZZA M.P. we want pizza!!!!!!!
It’s in the first book, girl!
I love all of your recipes! Just more in general will be awesome! =) If I had to be specific I would say more Wannabe Recipeas…they are perfect for showing omnis how delicious vegan food can be!
okay i’m obsessed with you and your thai quinoa. I would loveeeee some more veggie burger recipes!! i love veggie burgers =]
I LOVE your first book! I just went vegan about 2 months ago and yours was the first book I found that was simple enough for a veggie beginner (the oatmeal squares with the hidden tofu are a FAV!). I also love the stories about GiGi & LuLu
I don’t know what to suggest for the new book… Just more of the those great recipes!!! Best of Luck!!!
Suzin!
Wow, that’s so awesome! One thing I’d like to see in the new book is a recipe for vegan buttercream icing that does NOT use vegetable shortening!!
I would LOVE to see more easy dinner recipes that don’t include tofu! I’ve been trying to reduce/eliminate my meat consumption but am having a really hard time because most of the veggie products / recipes out there are either salads (which can get boring for lunch and dinner every day) or tofu.
So more soy-free tasty dinner delectables would be fantastic!!!
Yay! Another book! Only problem is, I want that Kung Pao Tofu RIGHT NOW. Heh!
Most of your recipes seem to fall in this category, but I can always use more ideas for things to pull together for dinner quickly on a weeknight. I eat chips and hummus way too often for dinner.
I am SO EXCITED! We seriously use your web recipes/your book at least 2-3 times a week. Maybe a substitute for certain things if you can’t find them (i.e. red lentils can be substituted for…)? Maybe you could even stick your Pealightful Plans in there? (Or something similar to that)?
So excited! Pealicious? Pealightful? Best of luck!!
Congrats! I’d love to see more crockpot meals – such timesavers!
OH MY WORD this is so very very exciting!!! More Pea love! Yay, congratulations!!
Or maybe some vegan picnic staples like potato salad, macaroni salad, etc.
)
As for more recipes, I know I’ll love everything you include…maybe some bread recipes? I **fail** at homemade bread
Oh, and lots and lots of pictures and stories about the girls are a must of course.
Happy writing..and cooking! (I’d like to hear that lady interviewer eat her words right now
congrats on the second book!
Low cost recipes!
Not gonna lie…..you just made my week!! Can’t wait for the next book, I’m sure it will be even better than the first!
Congratulations!!! So awesome. I’d like to see something with pumpkin
Congratulations! Would love to see substitutes for ingredients that aren’t available in most grocery stores.
I’m so excited for your new book! I would like to read more of your hilarious family stories… I think you may need your own reality show!
Congrats on a second book. I would like to some tail-gate friendly recipes. We tailgate every Friday during Football season and I never know what to bring that the kids will love and eat.
Oh my – “Super Spinach Salad” looks great. I would want more of the same and maybe a few with an elevated protein content to help get my daughter and husband on board.
Congrats! Slow cooker recipes…I love coming home and dinner is waiting on me =)
I was just diagnosed with Non-Celiac Gluten Allergy, I’d love to see more gluten-free goodies!
Only recently discovered your blog and I LOVE IT! I guess I will have to get the first cookbook!
Since I work a TON of hours – I always enjoy when cookbooks have a make ahead or freezer pleaser section. I try to cook heavy on the weekend and then freeze food to have on hand for later in the week!
Congrats on the upcoming book 2!
I would love to see lots of the freezable stuff…I’m always freezing food for later.
I would love to see more recipes for my lunch box! I like easy made ahead recipes that I can reheat in a toaster oven or microwave! Veggie burgers and salads get old on a daily basis.
Congrats on the 2nd book, I cannot wait for it to come out!!
I would love to hear more about your work/life balance with two small kiddos.
Jeanna
Yay! How exciting!! I can’t wait to see the recipeas for some of those pictures you posted… especially the thin mint cookies. I’d also love to see your verion of French Onion Soup… do you already have one that I missed?
I’d like to see some yummy tailgate/finger food for fall football watching weekends!!
oooh so exciting! I can’t wait! more peas are awesome
Since I’m due in February, anything that is quick (or can be made while holding a newborn in one hand!) and makes BIG batches for freezable leftovers would be amazing!
I would like to more cook-ahead type recipes.
Thanks.
Congrats! I’m so excited for book #2!!
I would love a gyro recipe. Maybe made with sriram? Also, sweet potato fries with variations.
How about un-chicken piccata, too?
Oh, I just can’t wait for this next book!
Have a great weekend!
I’m so excited for your new book! I’m single and really busy (aren’t we all?) I’m usually rushing around at 9:00pm to make dinner- which usually ends up being a sandwich of some sort. I would love more meals that I can make on Sunday (maybe with a crock pot??) and keep refrigerated or freeze for the week.
i’d love more gluten-free recipes!!
more slow cooker recipes!I would love a vegan slow cooker recipes book written by you. I know that it already exist but yours would be better… oh and I wouldn’t mind more pictures of pea kitty! I luv cats! And more pasta/rice/quinoa/millet/pearl barley/lentils main dish recipes!
Congratulations on your new addition!
You had us all going for a minute…
I would love to see more lunchbox friendly meals. I let my 4 year old daughter select a recipe from your book each week and we have so much fun making it together. Although, if I’m being honest, I typically have to double the recipe since a lot of it ends up on the floor (ie. the dog snarfs it up). 4 year olds with impeccably cleans hands make for efficient work in the kitchen (cough).
My daughter has been asking for more lunchbox treats from the “veggie book” (as it’s known in our home). I love the new coding feature, and my hope is for more food wrapped in other food – that seems to be a hit in our home!
CONGRATULATIONS ON ANOTHER BOOK DEAL!
That is really exciting!
I was actually talking to my brother’s neighbor who owns a local bookstore about you this weekend – they often have food writers come and speak about their books and have a great following here in Kansas City – I think Bobby Flay was just here and I know Ina Garten was here recently too. If you want his name and bookstore name, please let me know.
As far as the new book is concerned, evidence by my e-mail address – I am sure you know I would like to know more about Pea Kitty! But really, I would like more recipes like your Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie that you made yesterday and one of the meat substitutes that I have a problem with is Italian Sausage, which I think should be easy to duplicate with fennel seed.
Fun giveaway! I’d love to see more recipes that can be prepped in advance/cooked after a long day at work. Sometimes my schedule can be super hectic and I would love to not have to plan/prep/cook dinner all at once.
desserts. lots and lots of desserts!
Congratulations–I am already looking forward to the new book! I would love, love, love more packable, take to school on teaching days recipes! I’ve fallen into a lunch bad rut of late….
I’m so excited for you!! (And for all us fans, haha!)
Definitely would love to see some slow cooker recipes!!
Congratulations !
I would like to see more mushrooms recipes.
Oh my! I would love to see more dessert recipes…mmmm, so sad how much I love dessert!
This post just convinced me to finally give in and buy your first book despite being a broke student! I cant wait for the copy!! yay
Congratulations on the new book!! I am somewhat new to the vegan world, but I have been gluten free for 6 years now so I would love to see some more gluten free recipes. And of course, anything with chocolate in it is a winner!!
I tried to get your book at 2nd and Charles but they didn’t have it. The manager said “oh, what a great name for a cookbook” when I told him about it. I have to agree. Would love to own it!
tonilea
WONDEFUL news!! I’ve been waiting for this since I finished the book! Can’t wait !!
i would love to see some more recipes for people who are trying to watch their weight. plus i always appreciate more recipes to trick my husband into thinking he’s eating meat!
Yesssss!
The Kung Pao Tofu makes me think that a General Gau Tofu would be pretty delicious too…
And maybe some edamame snack mix? Some type of delicious vegan chowder?
I LOVE that the 2nd book will indicate what dishes are freezable.
Can’t wait!
I’d love to see more suggestions for menu pairings – for holidays or special occasions especially! I’d also love to see more gluten free recipes/options!
congratulations
I’d like to see an entire chapter devoted to kids recipes including school lunch options.
I start bawling at the Dear Sophie Lee Google Chrome commercial every single time I see it. Which was 3 times during football on Sunday. My husband thinks I’m crazy.
I love the Pea family antic stories. I’m hoping to get the original book for my birthday in a couple weeks, I’m setting this family up on a Pea plan come January for holiday and post-baby detox!
I would really like to see more recipes that use ingredients that are naturally vegan. While I appreciate what Earth Balance can do for recipes that seem to ‘need’ butter like scones and that tempeh and seitan can substitute for meat in some dishes, I would like to see more recipes that showcase naturally vegan foods for what they are.And perhaps more desserts that are lower in sugar without using stevia? Also, I would appreciate if the cookbook was spiral-bound so I don’t have to worry about holding it open. Finally, I’d also like menu ideas, like “pair this with this side on pg. 76″ so I can more easily make a meal out of an entree like what I said above. I’m really excited for you and for the new cookbook!
Although in general, I would appreciate more lunch/side/dinner ideas as opposed to desserts. I need more ways to pack more vegetables/healthy protein in rather than more ways I can eat more sweet things!
Also, I just read someone else’s comment about wanting to have more recipes from the blog in the new book. I have to be honest and say that I would really prefer to have essentially all the recipes in the book be new. I was a little disappointed to see a lot of recipes I had already tried-for free-in your first book. Thanks, just trying to let you know what one reader thinks!
Hahaha I apologize for continuing to make additions to my comment, but I keep being reminded of more things! I’m really trying to be more seasonal about my cooking (for freshness and reducing my impact on the environment), so if you could consider dividing up the cookbook into seasons or noting which recipes that have primarily ingredients that are best in the winter/summer/etc. that would be really cool.
You are my hero – that is all.
Not sure what I’d like to see…hmm…maybe like a butterscotch pie? You don’t have one of those, do you? I’m a chocolate girl, but something about butterscotch is so homey to me!
More family stories! Not gonna lie….I get excited by those first, the recipes second….even though the recipes are much more useful.
I am so excited that there will be another book!! I would like to see more pea adventures!
Congratulations! I’d love to see more recipes marked “20 minute meals” or something like that!
Woohoo! I’d love to see a “Stay-Fresh Time” because I am terrible at knowing how long stuff stays fresh in my fridge! Thanks Mama Pea!!
Ooh! Ooh! Sesame Tofu!
Yay congrats on the new book!!
I’d love more main dishes in the new book – specifically casseroles and slow cooker stuff.
This is so AWESOME! I would love to see more recipes with 6 or less ingredients. And some suggestions on what to take to holiday or BBQ gatherings that my ominvore friends and family will try with out turning up their noses
sfz.. i want tolive in the us because of all this vegan friendly stuff.. here in germany there is a little bit milk without milk and yofu and pseudopudding, a no-meat-meat, okay..
i want to become vegan. i try. some of the recipes are hard because some of the products doesnt exist in germany. there is no non eggy-eg. i use guar-flour ( i dont know how its called in english)
so i hope deeply that this book might be translated in german. i dont want it to purchanse from the us, the shipping could be expensive..
I am so excited about a second book! I would love to continue to see the personal side of the PeaFamily. I love the stories that go with the recipes. Keep ‘em coming!
Wahoo Sarah! I’m so excited for volume 2! Hate to let you down but I WOULD like to see a few more kitty photos——more importantly keep those witty family stories right along with the delicious recipes…..I’m SO addicted to the brownies on page 199
I gave one of your books to my secretary for an early b-day present – she is wearing it out!! Thank you isn’t a big enough word.
love ya!
xoxo
Congratulations on the new book deal! I remember about a year ago you did a great job revamping the pumpkin spice latte – it would be great to see more recipes for fancy drinks we can’t order in their regular mainstream state (and maybe a guide to which ones ARE vegan, sometimes I still get confused.)
Congrats! That is very exciting.
I pre-ordered your first book, and will do the same for the second. Guaranteed!
I’d love to see more slow-cooker recipes, as I am a busy, busy gal who is away from home (work and commute) for 11.5 hrs/day.
Also I’d love to see a lightened-up version of Mmmm Sauce. I can’t stop at just a TBSP or two.
~
Just started following your blog. Loving it! I’d love to see some finger food options for toddlers. My little ones love to feed themselves, but would love to give them some healthy finger foods.
I think a flash drive filled with Lulu’s self-taken cellphone videos would make that book sell like hot cakes. Seriously, think about it
congrats on the second book! I have loved cooking out of the first one, and even my meat eating boyfriend enjoys the meals! For the next one, it would be awesome to see a few crock pot recipes. I love reading the family stories that go along with each recipe!
Congratulations!! I can’t wait!! I’d love to see meals for specific seasons.
more Gigi & Lulu hula hooping contests, please
When I get back to America, I’ll for sure run out and get your book, I’ve been lusting over it forever hahah but can’t justify paying shipping to France
So excited for you and for a second book! And I will be the one to say more pix of Pea Kitty! And lots of dessert recipes.
Would think the lyrics and some dance moves to “bah bah pickle” would be a nice addition.
That’s so amazing!!! congrats
Love the freezable idea, how about some added crockpot recipes?
i’m a college student and I would love more, easy-to-make-in-a-tiny-nyc-apartment-recipes; whether they use less ingredients, take less time, OR just dont require a lot of heavy equipment (aka juicers, processors, slow cookers, etc), thanks mama pea
Congrats!! I’d love to see more slow-cooker recipes.
Crockpot meals would be fantastic!
I’d like to see more mexican recipes or more recipes that can be made start to finish in under 30 minutes or more crock-pot recipes
I Love the first book, can’t wait for the second
I would love to see easy-to-make lunches, or lunches I could make ahead!
ok i have to de-lurk for this – not only do i need the book but i also need that kung pow tofu recipe immediately please omg drool.
YAY FOR NEW BOOK! hmm more high protein and bean recipes please! and um yes, slow cooker recipes because i have one and i have no idea what to do with it. (other than tell my husband he cannot make beef stew because it is SOOOO STINKY)
i am so glad i found your blog
Congratulations on the new book deal! Can’t wait for it. I’m still loving the first. One thing I can never get enough of are recipeas for snacks that are healthy and can be packed up and munched on.
Breakfasts that can be made ahead and packed for early gym workouts!
Lunch ideas that aren’t salads or sandwiches would be great!
Definitely more pics and love for Pea Kitty! Maybe Gigi or Lulu would take over that part for you? =)
Very excited about the new book! I have been beginning to run out of recipeas from the first book and I was hoping for another! (Cause I know you’re writing it just for me, right? I will share with the rest of world.)
I look forward to the thin mints especially. I love thin mints. And the stories. But I trust you to pick good ones, your track record with me is pretty good so far!
Yesss another book! Not going to lie, husband has found the book in our bed because I read the recipes and plan meals at night. Would love to see more recipes where the leftovers can be frozen easily!
congrats! more of your impressive dessert recipes… i love it when people love vegan food and have no idea that it’s vegan!
Oh Mama Pea, I’m so excited I could cry! I didn’t even cry at the Dear Sophie ad. I thought about it though. I’d love to see some lunch packable snacks in the new book!
I can’t wait for a second book! Congrats! I’ve been slowly converting my 7 eggs for breakfast boyfriend to vegan with the help of your book, so far ever recipe has been a winner. I can’t wait for more!!! I’d love to see more seasonal or entertaining recipes, my dream would come true if I could have a vegan Thanksgiving … my family would go into shock however
Woohoo! You are well on your way to being a vegan rock star!
I’d love more slow cooker and seasonal fall/winter recipes. I started eating vegan during the winter and it was much easier during the summer when so many things were in season…just walking outside to pick veggies for a meal isn’t going to happen in another month or two. And man-approved recipes are a hit since he’s not a vegan but will try new things. Thanks!
Congrats on the new book! Def more “guy” food in the new book! I’m a slow convert, but thanks to some of your recipes my family has been having more and more meatless nights! Thanks!
Congratulations on the new book! I have two things I’d love to see more of: 1) portable ideas for lunches, kids pre-game snacks, basic on the go fare. 2) snack ideas for Moms who get mid-afternoon munchies.
good luck w/the writing!
Great giveaway! I’d love to try the dough balls from the creator. I’d love to see some holiday swaps.. I love holiday foods, but haaate the havoc they do to my body.. ie, yay for weight loss new years resolution! Haha. Congrats on your book!!
Perhaps it’s because fall is getting started and I’m nervous about the upcoming holidays (which will be my first as a vegan), but some healthy versions of traditional holiday favorites (maybe eggnog?) would be great!
Oh my goodness, how exciting!!
I would love love love to get a copy of your book
More breakfast recipeas!!!
I don’t have access to some of the ingredients in the first cookbook. It makes it hard to make the recipes on a whim. I have to order some of the items, so it would be great to maybe even suggest substitutes for some of the hard to find items!! Can’t wait!
I would LOVE to try some dough balls! As far as the book, how about more soups/stews? (I think I’m just feeling that because it’s fall!)
Congratulations! I would like to see more slow cooker meals.
Congratulations!! I would like to see more lunch recipes that can be easily made ahead and taken to work/school/etc.
Congrats on your second book! I love your pictures so I’m sure you couldn’t go wrong with more pictures in the second book! Oh, and holiday food recipes would be fantastic. I’m thinking that your first book would be great for Christmas presents
Ahhhh! Congrats Mama Pea! I’m so excited for you and the rest of the Peas
I would love to see some recipes or tips on how to use leftovers. Revamping leftovers is always a huge time saver, but when it’s Thursday night and I’m exhausted, creativity isn’t exactly flowing. Maybe like a recipe, then a variation for reusing leftovers for nights two and three? And if your Pea’s get sick of taste testing I will gladly offer up my services for free
Those coconut cream donuts sound scrumptious! Yummy, yum, yum! I would love to be able to find savory breakfast/brunch recipes without soy. We make a potato/bean/veggie dish, but other than that, my kids get tired of having pancakes, waffles, french toast, and cereals all the time. It would be nice to have some more ideas to that end.
I would love to see more man friendly dinner recipes. The book will make great gift for Supper Club girlfriends!!!!
Definitely pea kitty :] Or crockpot/freezer meals.
Love the first book, and can’t wait for a second. If I won this giveaway, I would gift the book to my sister ‘just because’ to brighten her day. I would like to see less meals using imitation meat products.
I would love to see some sort of gluten-free feature in the new book! Or maybe even a few pages of GF treats. I wish I could make more of your baked goods!
Congrats on the new addition! I enjoyed the blurbs in the first book that accompanied each recipe, but would enjoy it if you mixed a few of those with longer stories (or start each section with a longer story or note).
Congrats on the second book! I have been a vegetarian since I was 8. So I loved the recipes you provided in the first book. I would love to see more recipes using a crock pot/slow cooker. I would also love to see recipes for the upcoming holidays.
That is wonderful!!! Congrats
I would love to see a recipe that includes mesquite flour in some way. The stuff is amazing.
Congrats, Mama Pea! I would like to see a recipea for a vegan panang, yummy!
I think the freezer meals are a great idea — along those lines, I’d like to see quick and easy dinners with just a few ingredients that don’t require planning ahead (soaking lentils; pressing tofu — love those things, but I don’t plan that far in advance!). And, since I’m from the south, I always like to see veg versions of southern comfort foods — you’ve already got a few though, I think!
Yeah, that is exciting! Congratulations! I think a label on things that are crock-pot friendly would be great! And either a suggestion for how to modify for in the crockpot with that specific recipe or a blanket suggestion at the front/back of the book.
I love your wanna be recipes so I would like more of those. and also I like you vegan versions of popular favorite foods (tamale pie forever)!
Cool, another book!
I really enjoyed reading the first. I guess what I’d like to see is – more of the same! I like to read cookbooks. Yes that’s weird. I also like your blog (not so weird). Your blog almost always puts a smile on my face. Reading your stories *and* reading recipes was a win/win for me.
Can’t wait!
(and yes, I thought you were expecting something else at first!)
i would love to see some meatless mexican food!
Yippee…the 2nd book news is very exciting. I plan to make everything in the first book so that when the 2nd one comes out, I’m all ready
I made your dough balls this past weekend, but added rainbow sprinkles on top because it was for my sister’s birthday treat. The balls came out so beautiful (TWSS).
Btw, no Foodbuzz trip for me this year as I will be on vacation in Mexico but I will be in town the same weekend you are in San Diego. I’m hoping our paths will crossed and I will be bringing my books for signing.
Let me know if you are planning do to any meet-ups in San Diego besides the cooking event in Del Mar. I just looked your demo schedule and looks like a fun day with the kids
Wow that’s awesome another book.
I would love to see more raw and crockpot. I have to cook fast and like everyone else tend to run to quick and not so healthy choices in a hurry.
Congrats that’s awesome.
I think pea kitty is adorable and needs a friend.. Pea Puppy
I’d love to seem some tempeh recipes. I love that stuff, but have very few ideas on how to use it.
I think I would like to see more “main” stream dishes or side dishes that I can pring to potlucks, or dinner at a friends house, that are totally vegan with out looking like it?
So happy for you!
Congrats!!
Wow, I feel so bad I have not purchased your book yet, but we are in the process of moving and therefore not much reading, let alone healthy cooking is going on. I would also like to see crockpot recipes. We are always busy with kids’ sports, so no time to cook.
Things that will work for office lunches!
Congrats on the second book!! Much deserving! Love all your recipes and reading your blog.
Lots of freezer-friendly recipes in the 2nd book would be great – we’re expecting our first child and I am starting to think ahead for those pull-out-of-freezer and heat meals that will, undoubtably, save our sanity and hunger!! Thanks Mama Pea!! (and if I win- no chance that the doughballs will make it to the freezer!)
Easy, low fat salad dressing recipes, and more dips!
Congrats!! What an amazing accomplishment. The more stories the better. Your writing always cracks me up.
So, so, so exciting! Congrats! II was going to mention entertaining ideas (I’m hopeless on this front!), but saw in a comment above that there will be special holiday, date night, etc. sections–you are two steps ahead of me, Mama Pea!
So excited about the tab indicators! Fun!
How exciting!
Hmm, I’d say more of the Vegan Value meals. It’s so fun to have a healthy, delicious, beautifully presented meal that doesn’t have me feeling guilty about the grocery bill! You are good at that anyway, though!
Mmmm, doughballs…
I would love to see more gluten-free recipes! Congratulations on all your amazing success, you deserve it!! xoxo
A healthy version of Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip!! Congrats
That lead up was mean! I thought we were going to hear about a third baby pea.
Not that I’m disappointed to hear that you are coming out with a second cookbook–that’s so great! And, wow, you are moving fast! For my request, I’d just ask for lots of pictures… and, as I mentioned before, I wouldn’t mind a pealightful risotto recipe! Congrats!
wow! congrats on the new book! how exciting! we’re a little obsessed with mama pea at our house right now. my kids ask me every night, “did mama pea teach you how to make this?” and they ask over and over to watch the promo video of lulu and gigi. my 4-year-old calls me mama pea. that’s fine with me.
i don’t have a copy of the 1st book (dental school budget . . . .), so i can’t say what i’d like to see in the 2nd one. maybe some more great sauces? (we love the mmmm sauce!)
Congratulations!! That’s awesome news.
I’d like to see some more things that picky kids would enjoy. All of my kids are kind of picky but they have agreed to explore meat-less meals. They are older of course, and realize that I need to eat healthier due to my condition and realize that they want to eat healthy too.
Thanks for everything!
Way to go!! I would like to see more bean-based entrees.
I would love it if the second book had Fat, Carb. Fiber and Protein count per serving in the nutrition area.
Those are the 4 things you need to enter when fingering out Weight Watcher points. Thank you and good luk on the new book!!!
Pictures of the new puppy when you eventually give in????
I will buy the book just for the Kung Pao! Congrats!
I’d love more ideas on how to pack balanced meals. As a college student, I’m away from my apartment all day and would love to see balanced meals to-go. Thanks for your amazing food!!!!
Hi! I am kinda new to your site but it is quickly becoming one of my favorite vegan cooking blogs. I’d love to see nutritional information along with the recipes.
VERY EXCITING! I have not yet purchased the first book (end of the month budget) but have every intention of doing so ASAP. Your blog alone has been a huge inspiration for me to move forward with a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle and i’m so grateful for your delicious recipes!
In the next book i’d love to see a few menu ideas for the holidays. I’m completely stumped on what I can bring to the table that is holiday-worthy and something that both my family and I will enjoy equally.
I’d also love to see crockpot options.
Thank you!
Congrats on another book!
I’d like to see more dinner recipea’s over breakfast stuffs. Would love to see your take on Fettucine Alfredo (mostly cause that’s my hubby’s favorite dish).
And I’m putting in a vote for Pea Kitty anyway! (Gotta love the kitties!)
>^_^<
YAY!!!! I’m so excited!!! I would like to see more pealightful recipeas!
I am so excited for another book ! I absolutely loved the quinoa lasagna that was featured in Vegetarian Times (by the way, CONGRATS on that!) stick it in the new book!
Yay Yay Yay!!! Soooo excited for another book!!! I would like to see some “Southern” recipeas, some more slow cooker recipeas!! Oh, and more desserts, all your desserts are AMAZING! Congrats on #2!!!
That is so great, Sarah! I am so happy for you
I want to see a vegan sandwich section! I used to love eating sandwiches for lunch, but now that I’m not eating meat, the selection is super limited. I’ve ended up replacing lunch meat with pan fried tofu, but that takes a lot more time. Worth it, but it’d be nice if there were some easier options.
You’re an inspiration! I love your post on how to get your man to eat less meat–it’s helped me a lot through the transition.
Wow, so exciting!! I agree with others who say more slow-cooker recipes. What a great opportunity! Many blessings.
Wow that’s exciting news. I would love to see a lot of freezer friendly meals I can make ahead since I get home late most nights and want to have a quick delicious meal that’s already prepared.
More tips on how to transition a family from SAD to healthful eating!
that and slow-cooker recipes, yes!!
Wow, congratulations!
I would love to see a recipea for mashed potatoes and gravy…or lets say my husband would love to see it
Woo hoo! I was hoping you were going to say that another book was coming! Good, now I can sleep at night.
I would like to see more delicious recipes without the use of tofu or tempeh- still haven’t acquired that taste or texture yet!
Congratulations!!
Ooh congrats! I’d love to see your ultimate Thanksgiving or Christmas meal – especially main dishes. Thanks Mama Pea!
this is so exciting!! congratulations! and i want those donuts. right now.
i agree with an above comment- crock pot/slow cooker recipes! i think they are so great for busy moms who want to make healthy choices and are limited on time, and are exhausted at the end of the day
First of all… Congrats!
I made my first recipe out of your cookbook for my fiance and I last night, and it was great!
In the next book I would like to see even more of your stories and your wit! It would also be nice to have more of those tips on the side of your recipes, or a little more explanation of how to make the recipes.
How Exciting!!! I don’t have a copy of your first book yet and I would LOVE that! I have seen it though, and I would love it if you could add more raw and gluten free recipes! Also maybe really easy healthy recipes that kids could do-finger foods and such! Thanks for your dedication!
I would like to see some “make two recipes with one item” ideas!! One to eat now and one to save or freeze for later. For example – I make a chickpea noodle soup recipe sometimes and I buy enough ingredients to make your chickpeas and dumplings at the same time because they both have onion, carrots, celery (need them twice, chop them once) as well as chickpeas. Thank you!
The new book sounds awesome!!
I would like some easy one or two-serving recipes and comfort food as always. I’m not sure if you already have this but perhaps a fettucine alfredo or cream sauce recipe. Casseroles and one pot meals are great too.
More stories, pictures, crock-pot recipes, and…
…how to convince others (the in-laws *cough*) that you are not causing your children to be “malnourished, crunchy granola, ‘Nam hating hippies.”
Keep up the good work, you are awesome!!
OMG someone mentioned eggnog! I second that! In fact, you should totally just come up with that recipe and give it to us now on the blog
So exciting! I can’t wait for the new book! I would love to see some “quick picks” for those nights when you are short on time.
Wow! What great news!! i cant wait for the new book. i am new to cooking/baking, you’ve inspired me to get in the kitchen, and boy is it fun!! so i am a huge fan of any and all tips you can provide for a newbie. So please keep those comin!
hurray! still working through the first one… so is it even possible to veganify my 2 favorite desserts: merengue and angel food cake?!
Freezer friendly meals is always helpful. That be a really cool feature!
I am so happy for you!
I would like to see what you do to have such nice arms! I am totally jealous– other than that, maybe the slow cooker recipe thing is a good idea. Most of the recipes I have for it are for meat based dishes. I am not a vegetarian, but have been trying to do meatless meals more often as a way to decrease grocery costs and be healthier
Congrats! I have the first book and can’t wait for a second…. I am “easing” my family to the veggie side. We are big football fans and do some tailgating/entertaining…I would love to see more appetizer type dishes. Easy to try (taste test) without the committment of a full meal. And of course anything mexican/southwestern.
You spent so much time putting together the Pealightful Plans – I’d love to see a section (or even another book!) based around that. And don’t ya know January would be an ideal time to get that one published.
Off the top of my head, I’d love to see a few eggplant recipes. I just love eggplant! Or maybe some more Mexican dishes (another favorite).
Congrats!! I’d love to see more recipes for on the go snacks!!
I’d love to see an emphasis on whole grains and low sugar for the deserts. Also, meals with protein other than soy. Can you somehow work your magic with that?
Congrats on your second book! Very exciting. I’d like to see more low sugar/no sugar dessert options in this one.
Congrats! How amazing. I would love to see more dips, dressings, sauces, etc. Mmmm sauce is the best, and while I basically eat it every day, I would love to see what else you can come up with!
Yay! I’m super excited for you, as well as to add to my P&TY book collection! I would love to see some gluten free recipes and more crock pot recipes! Congrats Mama Pea!
Yay!!! I’m so excited. Your 1st book is like a bible, I preordered it day 1, and am going to do the same with this one!
I’d love to see some dinner recipes that are gluten-free… I’m struggling to make my man eat vegan, when we can’t eat seitan or tempeh. We already eat tofu like 1,000x a week. Work your magic mama pea!
I am so excited for this!!! I would love to see more GFree recipes the second time around. Congratulations!!
You bring such a fresh down home, yet chic fresh feel to all of your recipes & Its just so appealing. I love the fact that your family eats it. Im not so isolated as a vegan. Thank you.
Congrats on the second book deal! I’d love to see nutritional info (even just basic calories, protein, fat breakdown)!
More simply week night recipes that don’t involve 1209120 ingredients. When you are tired from work, you just want simple go to recipes
Congratulations! OK… could GiGi write a story for us??? And I have a friend who is attempting Atkins as a vegan….and doing really well and losing a ton of weight….pehaps some recipes with no starches and minimal carbs that are really good?
As a Philly gal, I’d love to see a veggie/vegan cheesesteak. There used to be a great place to get them in Philly, but it’s sadly gone out of business. No idea why since they were both meat and veg friendly – everything on the menu came both with or without animals and their by products. Gianna’s will be missed and I’d love to see a Philly Peas-steak, pun in the title or not
Congrats on a second book!!
i would like to see variations to recipes- like how to make things gluten free
Congrats!! I can’t wait to see all the new recipeas!
I would love to see some Anti-Candida recipes, as my naturopath has just placed me on this diet, and it’s pretty difficult to find non-boring foods to eat that have minimal carbs, no sugars, yeasts, gluten, wheat, etc.
Yay! Hooray! I’d love to see more main-meal sorts of recipes since I’m far more likely to make those over breakfast or desserts. Having said that, I’d buy the book just for a tira misu recipe!
substitute ingredient list in back of book (i.e. if one doesn’t have coconut oil, use this or no whole wheat pastry flour try this, etc. etc.)
A second book!?! Congrats and how exciting for you and fam
For us readers, it’s awesome, but have to add…….”we’re not worthy, we’re not worthy, we’re not worthy”
I want to see more Pea Daddy stories. He just cracks me up! Thanks!
Congratulations! I would love to see more lunch ideas and/or “portable foods.” I am always looking for new ideas for lunch and snacks to bring to work.
Congratulations on the second book! How about a dairy-free mushroom marsala? I’ve been thinking of trying it with cashew cream, but I would love to see what you come up with.
Congrats and how exciting about the new book!! You totally deserve this and I have your book and read it before bed – as if it’s my night time story. I am not ashamed!
I think I’d like to see a little more Indian (bias, here) and lunch ideas – b/c that what I suck at – preparing it ahead etc.
Wannabe Recipea: Rainbow Cookies, like these: http://www.mangiabenepasta.com/rainbow_cookies.jpg
I promised a friend I would make the vegan version for her, but I’ve been putting it off because it’s literally an all day event (accroding to the recipe I found online). There MUST be a better way. I know you are just the Mama to make them vegan, delicious, and way less ridiculous. I mean jeez, longer than an episode of Bachelor Pad is just too long!
Congrats on the anticipated bundle of joy!
Oh my gosh! All those pictures look so good I can’t wait! Would love to have your Mmmm sauce in the book. I love that stuff!
Exciting!
I really like the stories about your family! … maybe add some more main dish / one pot stuff… whatever you choose will be great, I kow!
Congratulations! More lunchbox recipes, please. I love your healthy ideas for the kiddos to take to school!
i would love to see more lunch recipes and also more dessert recipes that require minimal ingredients. i live alone so it can be difficult to keep a very stocked pantry. thanks!
Yay! Congrats! My first thought when I heard another book was coming…”More peas!” Don’t know what’s on your title list, but “More, peas” seems like something somebody should have thought of
I’m hoping for more crock pot recipes. I know you’re not a huge crock pot fan, but it makes dinner so much easier when you have a husband who could be home and hungry at 5:00 or home at 6:00 wanting to go running.
Congratulations! I cannot wait for your new book!
I would really love to see a Pot Pie recipe, as well as a not-so-awful for you coconut cake.
How exciting!
Hi Sarah,
I have to say when I got your book, I couldn’t put it down, I read it cover to cover like a novel. Your commentary is hilarious. I thought to myself, this lady should do stand-up! In between laughing fits, I mean what mom can’t relate, I drooled over your recipeas and since have proceeded, starting back at the beginning to prepare each one for my family of vegan-vegetarians. (I was so inspired by what you said after attending the Portland VegFest- if I am the one to cook, I’m going to cook my way- darrnit! So you have four new fans of the recipeas and the peas family comedy routine!
I also think your recipes are very accessible to those who are interested in adding/changing their diets and that is why I’ll give away my current copy and keep the autographed copy for myself (if I win the giveaway)- Who knows maybe you will go on to be a world-famous comedian and it’ll be a rare and valuable keepsake! Whatever happens, please keep sharing your delightful stories and delicious recipes with us!
Thanks~Deirdre
I’d love to see more recipes excluding soy products. A lot of yours call for tofu and tempeh, but I can’t eat soy and prefer not to buy processed food anyway.
After reading your blog for awhile…I finally decided to buy the book! But I purchased it on iTunes and look at it on my iTouch. It’s so small! I’d love to have a hard copy
Congrats on the next book! I’m super excited and will be preordering it just like I did the first one. I would like to see more make ahead and lunch box friendly ideas. Our family is busy and no one eats lunch at home during the week.
Congratulations! I would love to see your take on raw recipes.
I am so happy about your new book. I just recently became a vegetarian and to find recipes my kids would eat was hard. Then my great friend Whitney told me about your book. My kids love the recipes my and I love how easy they are to make. In the next book I would love to see more recipes that the whole family will love. Just like the first one. Thanks for making my new life change easier.
YAHOO YAHOO YAHOO!!! I am so excited for you!! (and me too, to get another book) Congratulations!! This is so Awesome!!!! All of those recipe pics above look amazing, I can’t wait for volume 2!!!
I would love to see more slow cooker recipes as well as packable kid-friendly ones for school lunches and maybe my lunch too!!!
Yay! Congrats!!! I am super excited to see more family stories and maybe some more comfort food meals!! I know whatever ends up in it will be great!
id love to see awesome soup recipes involving seaweed!
Congratulations!
As a college student living in the dorms, I would love to see your take on a few easily-assembled meals that I don’t need a full kitchen to put together. Seeing all of these recipes makes me want to visit home so I can cook!
Congrats Mama Pea!
Is it weird that one of my life goals is to meet you? Haha, I think you’re the best!!
I would love to see some delicious veganized coconut cream pie!
Wow.. congrats!!! That is so exciting!! If you included tips/steps on how to slowly wean a family off mean that would be really interesting. Along with more ideas for packed lunches for the kids to take to school.
I would love to see slow cooker recipeas. Mine doesn’t get the love it deserves
Congrats on your success. You make all vegan moms and future-moms so very, very proud.
Namaste
Wow.. congrats!!! That is so exciting!! If you included tips/steps on how to slowly wean a family off meat that would be really interesting. Along with more ideas for packed lunches for the kids to take to school.
In the second book I would love, love, love to see a meal plan for the holidays. Like “here’s what you should make for Thanksgiving dinner” type of thing. I am so bad at putting dishes together! Congratulations and I’m so looking forward to the next edition!
Congratulations!! I love your first book an cannot wait for more awesome recipeas! Would love to see more slow cooker recipes and snacks my two year old would eat. You are awesome!!
That’s so amazing. I love the first book, and your vegan dessert recipes have changed the way I bake. The fact that sweets can be tasty and good for you has changed the way I eat. I would love to see an expanded dessert section, maybe some red velvet cake? Thank you
Congrats!!! I am super excited. I would like to see maybe more breakfast recipeas, but really it doesn’t matter more of any of your recipeas would be great!
Congrats! I’d love to see different variations and applications of Mmm sauce. I find my husband will eat almost anything as long as it’s smothered in a delicious sauce.
While I love the recipes, the pictures and stories about your family really gave the book its charm! I hope there will be lots more of that in the second one. I also would like to second the Anti-Candida recipes, it is such a restrictive diet and good recipes are hard to come by.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Here’s to hoping by the time I’ve worked my way through all the recipes a few times in the first book, the second one will be available!!! Although I don’t know about that, since I’ve already made at least a third of the recipes. Maybe even more.
You see, I’m trying to prolong it as long as possible. Is that selfish? Haha. As for ideas about book #2…perhaps you could include a pea-lightful section as well? I know people often think (and I am guilty of this occasionally as well) that because something is “vegan” it’s automatically healthy and you can eat as much as you want. But calories are calories and if you gorge yourself on earth balance and sugar, you’re not going to be much better off than if you were eating butter.
Congratulations!!! I love the book and the blog! I think you should call it Peas And Really Thank You which has the awesome acronym of PARTY. I’d love to see lots of pealightful recipes and substitutions. And lots of coconut and pumpkin; blogs have made me obsessed.
I would love to see a recipe for homemade seitan!
You are amazing! I want to be you when I grow up. (Not that I’m not already grown up, but you get what I mean).
Would love to see a section on packed lunches and on the best way to pack them for space!
CONGRATS!! I love reading your witty posts everyday, always makes me smile. As an official sugar addict I’d like to see more sweets!
P.S. Your dough balls might be my favorite thing ever, I make them every Friday as a rule. Happy Friday
i love all the stories and pics that go with recipes. i would love more! i just found out i need to go gluten-free, and cows-dairy-free, and cant go overboard with soy products. im such a food-lover and a BAKER, so its rough! more gluten-free, for me please! (I had brown rice bread for the first time yesterday…it made my gums hurt!?)
Congrats congrats! I love your cookbook making your tempeh chili tonight:) In the next book I would love to see lighter meals with less cook time and maybe some pumpkin recipes!
Congratulation! Very happy for you.
Hmm, let’s see. What haven’t you written about? I wouldn’t mind more recipe–desserts especially–with a little booze in them. I know it’s a family cookbook but family involves mommy time, right?
AH, congrats!! This is amazing news!! Another child is harder than a book anyways – so keep pumping out books!!! I love anything dessert. I like mock meat recipes too, or even recipes that don’t involve mock meat..what I’m trying to say is anything you make, I am pretty much guaranteed to eat. Where’s the ‘giveaway’ to host a dinner and have people stay over? I call Gigi’s room!
I agree with a previous commenter – tips on weaning people off of meat! PS – I totally cried watching that commercial too.
A designation of season (summer, fall, winter) for recipes would be great. Trying to eat local, organic, and IN SEASON is my new goal!
I’d love to see more desserts. I’ve tried to extract my sweet tooth with no luck, so I’m thankful for your decadent but not-so-bad-for-you sweets
Can’t wait for the new book. Congrats!!!!
I feel like one of my 2nd graders right now as I say, “She/He took my answer!”
It looks like many people have the same ideas I was thinking! Slow cooker recipes, nutritional values, and “kid-approved” ratings from Gigi and Lulu. One thing that I love about your blog that isn’t in your book is how you always take a picture of the ingredients you are using. This is so helpful when many of the ingredients I am new to, not having been a vegetartian for very long. I don’t know if this is possible or if it would be infringement on rights. Whatever you do, it will be fantastic!
I love the new feature icons you’ll be adding!!
I’d love to see super quick meals/dinners – think Rachael Ray’s 30 min or less type. I don’t like having to chop things and whatnot, so the quicker the better!!
Oh I just wanna see the Coconut Cream Donuts. But seriously, a cookbook is so much better with drool-worthy photos. Many times I read a recipe and think ‘meh’ but then I see the picture and I’m off to the store for the ingredients.
Congrats too on the new book!
I would love to see a recipe for (Vegan) Angel food cake!
I can’t believe you are already starting a second one! I would love to see some more packable lunch/dinner ideas(appropriate for adults and children!) because I spend about 12 hours on campus each day and have to pack almost ALL my meals for the day and it can be a struggle to stay healthy.
Yeaaa – congrats to you!!!!!! These look so yummy!!!
Congrats!!
More gluten-free treats, peas.
I would LOVE an autographed copy of your book and some dough balls!!! The Kung Pao Tofu looks AMAZING and I can’t wait to see the recipe for it in the new book
I want to see more recipeassss!!!
How about more veganized holiday favorites?
I’d love to see more wanna-be recipes!
I have 2 for you- pumpkin cheesecake and a hot chocolate recipea! I can’t wait for a 2nd book!
Besides those thin mint cookies, how ’bout a recipea /makeover for Samoas?
Yum! I would like to see more recipes that resemble meals with meat but without the meal. Like the carnitas and the kung pao tofu. Yum!
I love the wanna be recipes. Makes me feel like I dont have to miss out on the stuff I used to love. I would love to see more of those! Maybe a makeover on holiday favorites too!
I know you tried it once before and didn’t like the outcome, but I would love a stroganoff recipe; peas
Congratulations on the second book deal! I thought for sure you were in your first trimester, lol.
your tamale pie recipe is amazing!
LOVE LOVE LOVE your scones, so maybe more scones ? … yum yum
Can’t wait for your second book!!
I am really starting to get into Tofu because of you so maybe more ways to cook it/flavor it!! And lots of pics of the family!!
SO excited to see another book! It’s my goal to make everything from the first one! I would love to see more “wannabe” recipeas because i find them so fun!
I’m so excited! If it’s stuffed full of as much awesomeness as the first one, then just whoa.
Yay! you got me fooled there for a minute:)
I’d like to see more lunch ideas.
More gluten free recipes!
Congratulations! I still don’t have your first book, which is a crime (though hopefully one that will be remedied….). Those thin mint cookies look devine! And, hmm, maybe more recipes with gluten-free and/or sugar-free options?
Yeah!! Congrats on your second book:) I would love to see more recipes for quick and easy meals to pack for lunches.
Congrats! I’m all about the freezable meals, and easy pack-able lunch ideas for all ages. And more crock pot meals. That’s all
I would like to see more protein smoothie recipes. Yes, I’m crazy about them! What would be even better is if when you come out with your THIRD book, you make it full of lighter recipes (pealightful) and protein smoothies. I also like the idea of recipes for one or two people, so it doesn’t make so much food.
I can’t wait for your next book! Congratulations! =)
I can’t wait for Mama Pea part 2! Congratulations. You are more than deserving!
Congratulations!! I’d love to see more serving suggestions for meal planning, and more “pealightful” dishes. I’m not a big fan of meat substitutes although my family is, so I guess I’m looking for things to balance us out. Thanks for being awesome!
I’d say maybe some pasta recipes or using different grains like Risotto and quinoa and millet and such. Love the first book, I’ve been getting my fiance to eat more vegetarian with me and he doesn’t even complain about “missing the meat” anymore!
I would love to see recipes that can more easily be scaled down to one or two servings or are easily freezable (which would solve the servings issue). oooh, and more baking, your treats are delicious
So excited for more recipeas! Would love to see you figure out how to redo angel food cake in vegan friendly form!
I thought I had such a good idea about the holiday recipes but a few other people suggested that already haha
congrats with on your second book!! so exciting
I would like to see some recipes that use lentils. YAY another book!
I would love to see some sort of tofu cheesecake! maybe with a gingersnap crust?
So awesome about another book!
A huge CONGRATS but can I admit I really thought you meant baby and am disappointed now!? <3
I love the wannabe recipeas!
That’s so awesome! I am so “hap-pea” for you!
I would really like to see more desserts. yummy chocolatey goodness…. and pea stories. I love the pea stories!
Great News! I would love to see more quick and easy meals…maybe for the crock pot?
How exciting! I would love more crock pot recipes!
Another book???? Oh how awesome. Congratulations!!! I am very happy for you.
I would like to see recipeas that can be put together and cooked in 30 minutes or less. I don’t get home until 5:00 and I need time to get an hour of exercise in, cook, eat, and get ready for work the next day, all before 8:00. I sure don’t want to spend my free time in the kitchen cooking all evening. Also, I would like to see fast, budget recipeas, as we are not only trying to lose weight, but doing so on a limited budget.
I wish you the best. Try not to stress and enjoy this amazing time!!
Yay! Congrats! Hmmm… I’d love some more lunch ideas for the kiddos!
YES! I’m so excited and happy for you. I think I’ve made a batch of your banana bread from P&TY every week for the past month. Sometimes twice a week… my roommate has a big appetite
I would love to see a recipe for spinach and artichoke dip. My hungry male friends have been requesting it every Saturday when we’re sitting around watching football all day, but I’m a rocket scientist not a miracle worker!
Key Lime Pie!!!! I want to see Key Lime Pie!
I am torn: part of we wants something new and magical, some never-before-tasted-yumfest but right now, I have to vote for Mmmm Sauce. I made it for the first time a few days ago and FREAKED OUT. Day 1, I tossed some steamed veggie in it, Day 2, I dipped raw veggies in it, Day 3, I poured it over gardein “chicken” and cooked it. Day 4, I wept because there was no more Mmmm sauce (and no more almonds to make more). Would you still love me if I admitted just standing by the fridge and eating a spoonful of it? I’m going to chalk it up to the engevita being a great source of B12.
I’m so excited! I’m obsessed with your recipes! I would like to see more veggie burger/ meatball type recipes. All three in the first book trump veganomicon hands down! You’re a genius!!
CONGRATS!!! How exciting! I want to read more stories about you and Pea Daddy!!!
Yipea! I’d love to see more sauces for pasta and small bites. I’m always looking for things that i can feed my friends that they won’t be scared to try… things that are still familiar – yet different… and pealightful!
Thanks!
I’m giving some thought to trying a few vegetarian meals and would love to see some basic meals with simple ingredients; they really need to wow the husband so maybe you would call it beginner vegetarian 101
p.s. This site is quickly becoming a favorite of mine, so keep up the good work!!!
Much like everyone else, I was almost hoping for another pea added to the family. I just love your posts about the peas, mostly because they are hilarious.
I’m just excited you’re writing another book! We recently went vegetarian and you are solely responsible for many good meals where my boyfriend has actually said “I am so happy to be a vegetarian!” You make me look good, so thank you Mama Pea. I was worried I’d be eating PB&Js for eternity.
So, any stories about the features about the Peas, I love. Any recipes that will make me look like a savant in the kitchen are also appreciated. Good “man meals” that make boyfriend forget he’s eating plants.
Menu plans and/or freezing tips would be great! Congrats on the second book!
I would like to see more desserts! Your doughnut recipes are amazingly healthy and delicious!
Congrats on the second book! I just found your website and I’m looking forward to making lots of your recipes. I’d love to see some seasonal dishes, especially using butternut squash. Date night food or other fancier recipes for entertaining would be great too! Thanks for all you do.
My goodness, the only thing I want to see/eat are the Coconut Cream Donuts… I’m drooling as I type this!
Maybe some kind of tag for quick and/or less than 10 ingredient recipes? I love, love your recipes – but some of them involve quite a few ingredients! It would be great to see some simple, quick recipes!
Very tricky beginning
Congratulations on the second book! That’s so exciting. Some gluten-free recipes might be a neat addition, you know for my own selfish reasons, lol.
I honestly just cant wait to read more of your stories…I think it’s the first time Ive read a cookbook front to back. Congrats on the new book
Another book!! Congrats!! Though, I am not at all surprised. I LOVE your first book and I’ll be pre-ordering your second. Still working on the tofu husband conversion.
What would I like to see in the new book – nutriotional content – sugar grams. I mentioned this before – and it is still a big part of my daily focus (I’m so selfish I know!).
Now stop teasing us with coconut donuts that we have to wait until book release to get the recipe! ha ha.
If only ONE store in Nashville sold a donut pan. See ya! I’m off to Amazon to buy one ASAP.
CONGRATS!!!
Nashville Jill
How about pictures of the new puppy…for the girls! Pea Puppy would be adorable!
I never have loved smoothies, but since you introduced me to xantham gum and guar gum, I think I am slowly becoming a convert. The gums scared me before because they sounding like crazy chemical substitutes…just goes to show that names can be deceiving!
So maybe more smoothie recipes in the new book? Also, my husband and I watched Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead last weekend and we’re intrigued and turned on by the idea of juicing. Since it sounds like you’re back into it, maybe a section on making your own juice blends like you did with the Hugh Jass salad in the last book? A how to of sorts?
Congratulations on the second book deal!
Coconut cream doughnuts?!?! Be still my heart!
I’d like to see some recipes for the slow cooker, and some more wheat-free desserts
Congrats on your new book contract!! That’s so wonderful
I’d love to see more “packable” meals.. I never know what to bring for lunch to work!
congrats!! I’d love to see more gluten free meals/desserts and more dinners involving beans like chickpeas, etc!
Congratulations! As a college student, I’d love to see some recipes that are easy to make in a dorm kitchen (few materials and easily accessible ingredients)
Congrats! I would love to see more recipes that are easy to make and require a minimal amount of ingredients.
Oh wow, that’s awesome. I love the idea of adding a ‘freezable’ icon; never quite sure what can be frozen for later eatings. Thank you for being so considerate!
Be still my heart! I am so excited! Not for you, but for me! I get to read another cookbook written by you!
I think I’d like to see more dinner ideas. I always struggle with planning meals for dinner and end up eating a lot of the same thing!
Yippee! Loved the first book and looking forward to the next. I’d love to see more casserole (one dish) dinners (I love the Indian Shepard’s Pie in the first book!) and a whole section on french fries… you know the recipes…. dill fries, coconut curry sweet fries, sesame lime sweet fries… please keep these french fry recipes growing
Thanks for your inspirational recipes!
i would love love love to win a copy of your book. I would love to see quick and easy meals for the cooking novice, and maybe some crock pot meals. =)
I’m in college, so I’d love to see some recipes that are easy to make and don’t use a million ingredients!
Congratulations!
I”m so excited you are doing another cookbook! I LOVE your first book and am currently doing a week of PaTY meals!
Congratulations!!
I would love some more freezable meals – I help organize a Meals for Moms group and would love to be able to make freezer-friendly meals for new moms and their families. Plus it would be great to cook ahead for our family too, as it is never easy to get meals on the table with a one-year old throwing himself at your ankles
Also – your stories are hilarious-so fun to read!
Congratulations, Sarah! I am so excited to see more recipeas
Personally I would love some slow-cooker recipes like your African Peanut Stew, which I crave weekly. Maybe it is because fall is in the air, but delicious vegan comfort food sounds fantastic!
I would love to see more pasta recipes! congratulations on you’re new book!
i know your cookbook is a family cookbook, but maybe in the next one have a section or option to scale down the meals. sometimes i cook just for myself or just for myself and my fiance so huge meals and portions don’t need to be made.
however leftovers ARE always good
congrats on the new book!!
Ooooh great giveaway!!! I would LOVE to see some more quickie (30-minute) meals for us working mums!!
Congrats! I would love to see some recipes with very few ingredients. Cannot wait!
This is wonderful news! I love your cookbook and website. I’m truly a fan. I would love to see a paella recipe in the next book, and more Asian recipes. Hooray!
I’m so happy for you. I love your first book, and what’s more, my 11 year old son loves your book. He likes to look through it to pick out dinner. He hasn’t made a bad choice yet! I will tell you his favorite recipe is dough balls and the vegan chocolate chip cookies (he calls them biscuits).
Hooray! Crossing my fingers that I win this book to give my bff! I love your book and would like to see some crockpottish meals in the next!
This might get me disqualified, but – I LOVE PEA KITTY!!
And I’d love to see your take on homemade nut butters in P&TY 2.0
Oh my goodness, I am so excited about book# 2! I have your first book (isn’t that a great phrase?) and it’s on my Christmas shopping list for a couple of friends.
I would love to see a page that has a couple of recipes that the girls come up with. I’m sure they’ve got to have some creative ides!
Oh, and maybe a few pictures of places where Pea Kitty is NOT.
I want to see more variations on Mmmmm sauce. I love the nacho kind… I need more!!!
You SO had me going for a moment! I even thought to myself this week… I wonder if Mama Pea quit caffeine b/c there’s another vegetarian bun in the oven! It’s probably just because I just found that out for myself this week, so everything I see is pregnancy related!
I would love to see a section on substitutions. While I ADORE your recipes, I never have applesauce on hand and rarely coconut oil. Sure, I could buy these things, but I’d be more interested in what I could swap from my cupboard/fridge. And let’s face it, I’m not shying away from eggs in recipes… I need some extra protein during this pregnancy.
Congratulations!!!
I recently discovered your website and I look forward to reading your posts! You have a great attitude and wonderful ideas that inspire me! I’d love to win your book!
Oh my gosh, that Dear Sophie commercial is ADORABLE! I’m glad to hear that I’m not the only one to tear up.
I’m soooooooooooooooooo excited for this contest because I’m pretty new to all things vegan, with the exception of doing a lot of reading up on the benefits. I saw those dough balls in another post and thought they looked SO darn good. Plus a chance to win your cookbook?! As Elaine from Seinfeld would say, “Get out!!”. I’m really excited just to have the opportunity. Thank you!
Hmmm… something that I would find helpful (not sure if you already did this for your first cookbook) is the use of brand names that you favor/use. For example: Daiya cheese, etc.. I’m sure not all vegan cheeses are created equal! Hope that helps!
Hooray! Congratulations! I actually had a dream that you secured another deal!!
How about some gluten free recipes?
Congratulations! All the pictures of the different recipes look so good. My husband and I are new to vegetarianism (1 month) and trying to make the switch to vegan. I showed him the pictures of some of the new recipes and he wants to try all of them! In fact, this site was one of the first I found for vegan recipes that helped convince me that maybe we could do this after all, that it might not be as hard as it seemed.
For the new book: His request is for a recipe for a spicy vegan pizza. My request would be for a good non-meat recipe for a boneless buffalo wings substitute.
Thank you for the great site and the giveaway!
I would love to see more desserts
Hi there! I’m a relatively new reader but I am so excited about the content you are putting out here. I have a major sweet tooth…let’s be real, it’s more like sweet teeth. I also happen to love your recipes for sweets. I’d love to see more dessert/sweet snack recipes. Can’t wait for the new book!
Congratulations! I’m new to your blog, and afraid I haven’t had the pleasure of checking out your first book (but hope to, perhaps after Sunday?
, but I’m curious, do you ever do sugar-free recipes?
Congratulations!!! I’m very happy for all the Peas and all of us. I can’t wait to see what you’ve cooked up. I would love to see anything a picky toddler will eat and more gluten-free recipes. Thanks for the recipes and laughs.
I am SO EXCITED
HOORAY and CONGRATULATIONS on your new book deal! I loved the first and can’t wait for this one. How about some more lightened up dessert recipes that use pumpkin or applesauce in place of the eggs and oil (like your double chocolate single chin brownies, cinnamon rolls, and lava cakes)? I also like the meat substitutes that don’t use soy products (not a fan of tofu or tempeh– sorry!). Your meatloaf muffins are the first bean burgers I have ever made and actually liked, that actually held together!
Bah! It cut me off! I would be so excited for more pealightful recipes!
Awesome! I’d love to see a handful of ‘simpler’ recipes in this book – i.e. some recipes that don’t depend on specialty ingredients only available at Whole Foods-type stores (or that can be easily adapted) for the broke students among us
I’d love to see the Tempeh Tomale Pie. I Just made it for dinner last night and it was wonderful. I just finished up my lunchtime leftovers, in fact.
I’d LOVE the nutritional information that you listed in all the book recipes!
A new book – very cool!! I just love reading about you and your family every day.
I guess for the new book I’d love to some options specifically for packing in a lunch and it looks like you are already planning to mark the recipes that would be great for this, so yay!!
Exciting! I’m interested in recipes with leftovers that can be converted into another dish to serve later that same week. Your pictures look amazing!
OMGGGGGG!!!! So excited
I would LOVE to see more baked doughnut recipes since I, inevitably, just end up making your chocolate glazed doughnuts over and over and over! The coconut ones look amazing and I’m going to pre-order your book this time around!
Also, I hope I win some doughballs!!!!
First I thought cookbook, then I thought baby….Congratulations on the second cookbook. We are enjoying the first. I love that the nutritional info is included in the recipeas. I would like recipeas that use ingredients from the regular grocery store (none of the grocery stores by me carry the tempeh bacon and I’m dying to try the reubens).
Congratulations!!! I love the first book and use it pretty much daily. I would love to see some more slow-cooker recipes for those days when I just want to ‘set it and forget it’.
I would love more lunch ideas, that seems to be the meal that is the toughest for me. Congratulations and thank you for all the wonderful recipes and all the laughs!
Yay on a second book! More fun pea family stories are always awesome!!
Congratulations to the Peas! But I am not surprised; how could a NY Times Bestseller not land a second book deal?
I would love to see dinners that really pack a protein punch and some recipes that don’t require any “fakes” (no fake cheese, meat, mayo, etc… just whole foods!).
One thing I really hope is that you keep the same “Peas and Thank You” logo. I think it’s stunning and so sharp on the white background.
I love the first book as I am trying to switch completely over to vegetarian and help my husband she the benefits of it and that it can be just as tasty
I would love to see lighter calorie versions as well as more slow-cooker recipes.
Btw, the Thin Mints look divine.
I would love to see some scone recipes – the crumbly ones not the fluffy ones.
One thing? That is so hard!
I would like more vegan value meals. I find it very hard to keep my budget low when eating vegan/vegetarian
Congratulations! I’d just love to see more wannabe- recipeas. As someone who’s using more vegan ingredients now in her baking, but am classically trained, ‘d love to learn how you go about with those substitutions.
I can’t wait to see what you’ve created!
PS: those thin mints look delicious
Just want to see more great recipes, and keep the funny stories coming! I haven’t gotten your book yet, but I have heard it’s amazing…so here’s hoping I’m lucky!
congrats!!! i’m so excited for more pea-ventures. What would be GREAT for me is a section of simple, 5 ingredient or less type recipeas?? or a “beginner vegan” section with the absolute essential and basic ingredients to start the transition. so excited for you!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! I’m so excited for you! And excited for me, too, when I get to have all those new recipes at my fingertips. Celebrate!
Yeah!! So happy for you. I can’t wait to get my hands on it. I would love to see recipeas that have no oil. I have been trying to get oil out of my diet. We have been vegan for almost 4 years. So oil is my next step. Love the pictures–YUMMY!
I would LOVE copy of that book like whoa!!!! Even more than the cookies (but don’t worry – If I win, I’ll gobble gobble all the way!
For your next book, I’d love it if you could put your genius towards salad dressings that have no added oil to them and just use awesome spices or nuts or veggies etc to make a completely natural dressing. I’ve been trying to experiment but so far my odds have been finding one awesome salad dressing and after creating ten horrible – I can’t believe I ate that – dressings. And also any meals that take no time to throw together – I always need those with my schedule! And recommendations for potluck dishes! Always so hard to think of what I should bring that would be a crowd pleaser!!
Good luck writing it!
Congratulations once again! I love the idea about designating whether it is freezable, lunchbox friendly, etc, good thinking. I would love to see more wannabes and if you are making thin mints how about samoas? (sp?) I suppose this means that a play date is far in the future you busy momma
Keep up the good work!
PS I tried the pita pizzas in the lunch and they were a HUGE hit (for the hubby as well) thanks for the good ideas, I think it’ll be a weekly thing!
I just got on this blog and haven’t read through the first book yet so I would love to win a copy and try some new recipes!
i too vote for key lime pie, love the stuff! i think the idea about making the next cookbook spiral-bound is such a good, practical one. i also vote for more recipes with fewer ingredients–that’s kind of the main issue i face when wanting to cook vegan meals. i always think, but there are so many ingredients! however, that may just be a misconception on my part (and obviously you do have a ton of recipes already that are light on ingredients and quick/easy, and there are some recipes that just flatout require more ingredients!)–maybe just emphasize that angle in your next book, since now you have such a far-reaching voice and responsive audience!
also… alcoholic drinks? i have no idea if this has already been done, but whenever i drink a marg, i feel less anxious about calories and more anxious about “what is all the crap in this that makes it delicious” haha.
regardless, like others have mentioned, whatever you choose to include for this round will no doubt be awesome! thanks for sharing your passion with us.
MMM Sauce!! I can drink it.. that is how good it is!!
Congrats on the 2nd book, loved the first!
three words: gluten-free vegan bagel. have you made bagels?! i don’t even know. but if there’s one person in the world that i think can succeed- it’s you.
since being forced to go gf three months ago, all i’ve missed is a real bagel. please mama pea make it happen for me
oh that’s kind of four words. hahah this is what grad school does to a girl. anyway, Congrats!! xo
Can’t wait for the second!! I definitely enjoy tofu, but I would love to see more grain/bean-heavy dishes that don’t use soy as the main protein.
I would L-O-V-E a copy of the book because I haven’t gotten around to buying yet. Thank you for the opportunity! I am really, really excited about the next book and can’t wait until you release the name for it! I love your dough balls as well and I wasn’t even into making them until I began reading your blog. I love chocolate chip cookies but I like the dough better and I love yours because they’re egg-free.
I would love to sea more whole grain recipes in the next book!
AnneKatherine @ theyogurtgirl.blogspot.com
Wow! I’m so happy for you. I read your blog everyday and I absolutely love the book (even though I’m not a vegetarian). As a mom, I would like to see more lunch box lunches and healthy snacks.
Congratulations!
I would love to see more soup recipeas!!! Love love love soup and it’s so hard to find vegan-friendly choices!!
I’d love to see a slow cooker section. My husband will eat anything from a crock pot because he smells it all day long!
Congratulations! Can’t wait for the second book. I would love to see more tempeh recipes. I am always struggling with exciting ways to use it.
Yay! Another book, that’s wonderful news!!! I’d like to see more whole grains in the next cookbook too, as well as have you continue to include your stories – that’s what makes you and your recipes so unique!
i would like to see some slow cooker recipes and roasted vegetable recipes/ideas and how long to cook them
I SO thought you were pregnant!! But this is wonderful too.
I would love to see more typical “bar food”–like nachos, chicken fingers, spinach dip, etc—Pea-fied.
Congratulations!!!
Congratulations!!! I would love to see more desserts – baked breads (quick loaves) or pastry-like things. It’s so hard to satisfy butter lovers!
I love the wannabe recipes. I also like the idea of a “lighter” menu. I think sometimes people think that since an item is vegan that means it is low in calories and fat. I like the option of having lighter dishes to chose from.
I would love to see a mama pea recipea for stuffed cabbage! Also maybe some healthy indian recipies? I know you have made a few already, but indian food is soo good!
This is great news! I vote for more crockpot and low cal recipes. And my teenager wants more funny stories although that goes without saying!
More crock pot recipes please!
More of the same, please. Love the freezer-friendly notation!
A second book would be awesome!! I would love ideas for the itty bitty kiddos.
I really like when you remake other recipes. I’m also a sucker for more donuts!!
Would love more crockpot recipes. A crockpot is a busy Mom’s best friend and I’d love some Vegan Versions for busy school nights.
I also vote for more Pea Kitty!
I’d like more recipes with fewer processed vegan ingredients such as fake butter utilizing other “whole food’ ingredients instead.
I would LOVE to see different ‘meat’ recipes, they have been so inspirational in feeding the men in my family. My father, uncle, and brother, and seeing the impact it has had on their health, while they are enjoying their ‘meat’ has truly blessed our family!!
I forgot! I would also love more pizza ideas (I have to admit I have some pretty strong feelings for the mexican pizza) and some grill ideas. Our fancy grill has been neglected since we made the switch to being plant-based.
More soup recipes! I love the carrot ginger soup recipe in the book (I’ve made it like 4 times since I got the book!)
I’ve always wanted to know how to make Kung Pao Tofu! Thank you for sharing
Congrats! How about featuring a Kind bar or Larabar (or other similar snack-type bar) formula, so that readers can customize their own? Start with a certain base and then swap in/out other mix-ins. I love homemade Larabars and your cherry-chocolate Kind bar, but I don’t have the confidence yet to strike out on my own without a reliable recipe with the right ingredient ratios.
I would enjoy more vegetables and main dishes without soy products including tofu. I have read so much that it is a breast cancer feeder and so I steer clear. Thanks!!! I enjoy the first cookbook so. Uch that I also am looking forward to your next.
I’m super excited about the meatless meatball subs, I can’t find a meatless meatball recipe I love. I would also love to see some crockpot recipes.
yay! i would love to see more crockpot recipes!
that is so exciting!! i think it would be awesome to see a spinach and artichoke dip!
Pea family stories, crock pot recipes, double-goodness/single-chin treats. Congratulations on the book deal!
Congratulations! As a full time working mother, I would like to see crockpot meals!
I am so excited to hear that another book is on the way! Hope it is one of many more to come! I would love to see more recipes with beans, lentils, or other non-soy protein sources. I love tofu and all of your tofu recipes, but I am trying to be good about getting my protein from all different sources, so some extra recipes like this would be fantastic. And, of course, copious amounts of chocolate chips in as many recipes as possible.
Being a college student, I absolutely LOVE the idea of having more “lunchbox” friendly meals in book numero dos! Or more crockpot recipes, those are handy too.
Congrats!!! When I first saw the title, I knew it couldn’t be that you are pregnant because you are way too witty and creative to make it that obvious. So excited about the 2nd book!
Wow, look at the number of comments!! Congrats, Sarah! Amazing! Can’t wait.
I forgot to leave what I’d like to see in my last comment….lunch box friendly recipes sound great!! Also, I’d love plenty of what I call “naturally vegan” recipes i.e. without things like fak’n bacon, non-dairy cream cheese, etc. Not that I have a problem with those things, but I just enjoy recipes that are totally vegan with substitutions.
How about some more ways to use tofu? Let’s get rid of that negative stereotype! Both in main dishes and in baked goods or sweets….but not just in a smoothie.
Congratulations! Such wonderful news!
My daughter and I would love to see more gluten free recipes for muffins and baked goods. Oh! Would love recipes for a pot pie, tiramisu, hashbrown casserole, and chocolate salted caramel ice cream!
Blessings,
Stacey
Yay!!! I am so excited! Your cookbook has become my absolute favorite. It was the first vegan cookbook I’ve ever purchased (actually, the only one I still own). I simply love reading about your cute family and your experiences. I would love to be able to pass along this cookbook to friends and family. I’m pretty sure it will be a Christmas gift for several people!
I really enjoyed the first cookbook… the format, the stories, the recipes, everything. I didn’t have any complaints. While reading through some of the other comments, I’d agree with the ones that suggest including slow cooker recipes and lunchbox recipes. Seasonal recipes were another great suggestion!
Congrats on your book deal!! I would like to see more soup recipes.
i want more casseroles
Congratulations! Such wonderful news!! I would love to see some meals that mention being do-ahead friendly….always helps during busy weeks! Can’t wait to read more
I already take all of your kids’ lunch ideas and tweak them for my OWN grad school lunchbox, so I would love to see some more of those ideas in your new book! I’m slowly working my way over to the vegetarian side, and your blog has been an incredible source of inspiration. Thank you!
I just watched “Dear Sophie” twice and am on the brink of tears. I asked my husband if he’d do that for our unborn daughters someday and he said, “uhhh…probably not.”
I’ll just have to continue watching the youtube video.
I would love to see a feature on how to’s Mama Pea style: How to throw the best puppy birthday party, how to find time to work off the dough balls, how to coordinate a vegan meal around meat lovers.
What do you think?
Yay! So excited that you’re writing another book.
I would love to see more quick and easy meals for this college student without a kitchen!
You had me at Kung Pao Tofu! Make sure that one gets in there. That’s the dish that got me liking tofu loooong ago, and it’s still my favorite Chinese restaurant meal. Only my favorite Chinese restaurant is nearly 300 miles away so, you know, I don’t get Kung Pao Tofu very often.
I just got the first book this week and I’ve already tried (and loved) a few recipes so I’m soo excited for the next! I’ve seen some mention of this above, but I’d definitely love some more Gigi and Lulu lunch ideas. (I’m a teacher so I just use them for myself, I even have a little kid shark lunchbox.) I’d also love to see a few words about budgeting.
this is an awesome giveaway!! i still don’t have the book!
so would die if i won this one. i have an obsession with donuts…maybe just a separate section dedicated to donuts on your second book??
) hehehe
Congrats on the new book. If I had any suggestions for the new book, it would be more slow cooker recipes for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner. I have a crazy work schedule and long commute during the week and meals that I can set and forget are great.
Congrats!!
I would love to see more doughball recipes…maybe a chocolate-chocolate doughball? YUM!
I’d just like to say that I think it is AWESOME what you are doing. Your love and passion shines through with every word – and unlike that lady (I think it was a lady?) On the radio the other day, you are MOST definitely giving to your kids the most precious gift on earth! A mother they can look up to and respect and look to for great inspiration. For as you have gone after your own dreams, you have allowed them space to do quite the same in their own life already.
Keep up the great work Mama Pea!
Lots of Canadian Love! <3
YOU ARE THE BEST!!!! I cannot WAIT for your 2nd book!! You are unbelievable and my husband is even impressed with how tasty our meals have been lately… courtesy of YOU! I would love more crockpot recipes because I get home late from work and it is SO convienent when dinner is already made! (I love your crockpot bbq tofu recipe!!) Congrats and best of luck! I know it will be amazing!
Congratulations on the book contract. As for the commenter who wanted it in a spiral bound format., you can always take your copy to a print shop such as Kinko’s and have them rebind it for a small charge.
Yay! So excited for this book!
Something I would love to see in the next book is more recipes that toddlers/kids like to eat. Trying to feed my 2 1/2 year old is a struggle in itself, so more amazing ideas would be incredible!
I’d love some slow cooker recipes with a lot of flavor! And congratulations on the new book deal!
Congrats! I loved the mango cupcakes with coconut icing in the first book, so maybe more decadent desserts like that!
Awesome news! I’d love to see more breakfast recipes!
YAY!! So glad for you! I’m hoping to see a lot more of your stories in the new book. I love you humor!
Congratulations!!! I’m sure it will be just as amazing!
Some sort of wannabe recipe for chicken marsala? Used to be one of my favorite dishes before I went veg!
Congratulations on creating a second book!!! It’s hard for me to think of something you haven’t already, but I guess maybe more slow-cooker meals would be nice? Those are always so wonderful to come home to after a long day at work. I can’t wait to read it! : )
Congrats!! that is such exciting news! i would love to see some of the classic “bad for you” pastas redone in a healthy way! maybe some vegan alfredo??? good luck and thanks again!
I look forward to soy-free and avacado-free pies
katherinedibello (at) gmail (dot) com
Wow, congrats!! I’d love to see more yummy, healthy desserts!
Woo hoo!!!! Go you!!!
I looove cookbooks that have a photo of every recipe so I have something to aim for
Also would like more slow cooker recipes and I am obsessed with soups…. And sweets
Thanks!!!!!
Another book, I’m super pumped! I’d love to see more gluten-free things in your next book- it’s sometimes a struggle to find quality recipes!
Congrats and I am soooooo excited for the new book! I thought you were going to say that you were adding another pea to your pod, but the new book is a great surprise! I would love to see more soups aand salad ideas. Also, and maybe this will have to be a whole other book within itself, but I’d like to see some holiday or themed ideas like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Fourth of July, Cinco de Mayo, etc. My favorite thing about the first book, despite the great recipes, is the wonderful stories. keep those coming for sure!
WOW!!!! Congratulations!!!!
You definitely deserve this and should be so proud of yourself! I can’t wait to see your new book! I have been checking out your first book and am hoping to snag a few extra before the holidays so I can give them out as gifts! (I have slowly been encouraging my family to eat better!) I LOVE your idea to have the special categories-in fact, one thing I would like to see more of is items that are freezable-I prefer to make a big batch of something on Sundays and eat it through the week and freeze some for later.
Thanks again and congrats!!!
I want to see more lunch recipes!!! I love me some healthy lunches for school!
Crockpot recipes, it’s that time!!
Congratulations! Recipes by season would be fun, but I love your healthy snack and dessert recipes so more of those would be great too!
I would love to see healthy lunch ideas, or meals that can be made in large amounts and then frozen.
Congrats! Have fun with the 2nd book!
I’d love to see more recipes that would work great in a lunch box…preferably my lunch box!
De-lurking to beg you to pick me!
My mom is a cookie-baking fanatic but doesn’t think anyone else will eat “vegan” cookies if she makes them for me. (Clearly I could make them myself, but that’s beside the point) Anyway…love the blog and book and would love to see a Wannabe for that creamy ginger dressing Asian restaurants serve.
Wow! Lots of people want those dough balls. (and the book of course). I would love to see sections of ethnic foods. An Italian section, Mexican, Indian, etc. Also, maybe some week night vs. “specialty” or Holiday meals. Congrats on another “addition”!
Wow! Congratulations on the 2nd book! I’d love to see more fast and easy lunch ideas. I’m always falling into a “lunch rut.”
I’m all about the quick and easy lunches to take to work!
I’m so excited for the news. I’ll be buying your book this month. I made your noodles with mmm peanut sauce for my boyfriend. At first he said he liked it. 5 minutes later he said “wow the more I eat, the better it tastes!”
It’s the best compliment I’ve gotten so far. Thanks so much!
Congrats! I’m loving the holiday ideas other people suggested. I’d also love to see some crockpot recipes, although Irealize you are not that big of a fan
Holy cow Mama Pea – over 900 comments on this one
Congratulations – Count me in for another hard copy and one via Kindle. I’m so excited for another book. The first is seriously my most used cookbook!
I’d like to see more naturally vegan foods too (using beans, lentils, etc.) as protein, more sauces, spreads, dressings, etc. I’d love to see a plain pancake (I know there is the one in the book- but just a plain one) and french toast (I’ve never found a recipe that has worked for me for those two).
looked in the book today for inspiration for dinner (ended up making crack-wraps with daiya cheddar) and realized there is a french toast. I guess I didn’t make it because I don’t use creamer. Also realized I could probably pretty easily leave out the fruit in the pancake recipe. I need to try them.
The crackwraps were to die for as usual.
love crockpot recipes, easy lunches, anything with butternut squash, and delicious soups. And of course desserts. Im pretty darn easy to please!! Of course what would please me most right now would be a delicious batch of dough balls.
I would also love to see crockpot/one-pot recipes. Also, the holiday themed menus would be great to see. Congrats on the book deal!!
Your first book sealed the deal for my new Vegan lifestyle. Your second book may help me convince a few friends on the fence!!!!
I would love another book so I can pass mine on to a friend
it’s hard to say what I would want to see more of since the first one is so perfect !! So I guess … More stories, pictures, humor, delicious food, and everything else that made the first one my favorite !!! ( and more inspiration to make my life a little more meatless )
Holy Smokes almost at 1000 comments mama pea! is that a record??
I cannot believe there is a second book coming out, you are on fire!!!
As a new working world lady, I would love to see a lot of “lunchbox” friendly recipeas
in the book part dos. Anything that can keep me full while tasting delicious at work (considering lunch is the best part of my day) is a big win. Not mention economically friendly recipeas and snacks (true life: I am a snacker). Also lots of pictures because hey thats why I read a cookbook in the first place
If I am the lucky winner, I probably should say I would enjoy the light doughballs, however I am going to say ORIGINAL all the way!
Hope you have a wonderful night pea family!
Since you understand how useful a slow cooker can be, you might see why I love my pressure cooker. I have been vegan for several years, and the pressure cooker has been a time- and energy-saving device that helps me prepare delicious, nutritious vegan meals. Perhaps you could incorporate a recipea or two in the new book. Congratulations.
Lot of lunch box friendly recipes! I’m always looking for easy, vegan , tasty lunches to send my daughter to school with. But really, anything you put in this book will be fantastic. I’ve had your book for just over a month and I’ve already made 32 recipes from it! Sooo good!
Congrats on the new book! I’m going to give your first one out for Christmas gifts. Take that omni family members, vegan food is delicious! Speaking of Christmas, I’d love to see a recipe for some veganized gravy in your new book. It’s something I really miss during the holidays, and the packaged stuff is not overly tasty. In general, recipes to serve as substitutes for the traditional holiday fare would be much appreciated!
This just made my day. I am so thrilled! I love all your recipes. As for a recipe I would like to see one for key lime pie.
Hi,
I am new to eating vegetarian and I am slowly getting my husband on board thanks in part to your wonderful book. I would have never known what nutritional yeast was or how it tasted. Love the ricotta recipe and use it often. I would love to see more ” for beginners ” recipes and more pictures. I love the idea of a cook book and how to combined into one. Thanks for asking us!
I love your Recipeas where you transform a brand name food into your own scrumptious creation. As for the book…more of the same!!!
Love the book, and I can’t wait to try the chocolate chip cookie cake! I would want to see more lunch box recipeas. I’m a teacher – so anything that’s tasty and will keep in the staff fridge (unless the others want to eat my tasty lunch!) I’m getting a little bored of salads everyday, so some new ideas would be wonderful!
As a fellow Oregonian, I would love to see some kind of feature about where you live (or your favorite places in Oregon to travel) so we can share our beautiful home with your readers.
I can’t say I want you to change a THING about the second book! The first was amazing! However…. if I must….. how about “morphing” recipes…. No… not recipes about Mighty Morphin Power Raingers..
but recipes that you make the base and then through the week they can do double duty as the ingredient in other recipes.
Also anything pumpkin….. I’m a bit obsessed and bought a case today!
And most of all… CONGRATULATIONS on your wonderful news! It couldn’t happen to a more deserving person. You NEED a Food Network Show!!!
Yum – those thin mints look dee-lish! Then again, all of your recipes make me hungry
As a working mom, quick, portable breakfast and lunch recipes would be fab!
Congrats! Hm, I’d like to see more gluten-free recipes in the new book!
Congratulations!! Your blog always inspires me to try harder in my ongoing journey of healthy living. My entire family loves to cook (and eat!) and we have all been encouraged from a young age to help out in the kitchen and be creative. I think that it would be fun to have recipes that each person has made/designed. One by Pea Daddy, one by Gigi, one by Lulu and maybe your favorite recipe (I would say include one from Pea Kitty but I am pretty sure it wouldn’t fit with vibe of the book, but I could be wrong!) Thank you
Mmmm sauce for sure!! That stuff is seriously addictive. Congratulations!!
Congratulations! That’s wonderful news! Hmm…. I’d like to see anything with dark chocolate and toffee or chocolate and caramel!
Yay so excited for you!! Maybe a section or write up on Gigi and Lulu’s favorites?
Book #2?? AWESOME!! Can’t wait! Congrats!
I’d love to see some gluten free baking *nervous smile*
I’ve had to go gluten free(5 wks now) and am so sad to not be able to bake some of the things in book #1!
Oh I am so excited that you are going to be writing a second book. I really loved your first one and my favorite recipe in that one was the tofu gnocchi. Sooo goood. But anyway, what I would love to see more in your new book is recipes about how to use tofu because the tofu gnocchi was so interesting that I would love to know how to cook with it more. Also keep the stories that go along with the recipe. That was my favorite part in the book:)
SHUT. UP!!!!!!! shut up shut up just shut it up right now with all of this good news and happiness and success and awesomeness. c’mon now. first, NOT FAIR that you TOTALLY had me thinking you have a Doughball in the oven. that would have been awesome. awesome awesome awesome. the only think i like more thank cooking is babies. but for supremely selfish reasons this alternate news is just magnificent. more for me!!! honestly, your (first) book is such a star, i probably reference it daily–i can not wait to see what you are going to share with us next. oh such a tease though…right? you totally are. loves! xo
i didn’t do my homework–i’d like to see a 3rd little Sweet Pea in the second book! (JK) you have time for that right now, don’t you? hmmmm, OH!, i was searching for a caramel-y-ish dessert recipe today and came up empty handed so….
I knew from the moment I read the first page that there would be a P &TY Volume II. Many congrats! I can’t wait to read it.
I vote for lots and lots of tofu recipes!
ahhhhh!!! Peas and Thank You 2!! I already pre-ordered it in my mind.
Loooove your first cookbook. I would love to see some crock pot recipes in the new one! I would also like to see substitution options for the sugars (agave, honey, etc.) Thanks!
I would definitely love to see alternate ingredients for those that are hard to find. We don’t have a whole foods or similar store in my town so if I can’t find it at Meijer, I need a substitute! I’d also like to see another section of man friendly foods. My man is a meat and potatoes guy all the way and while he loves some vegan foods, like tamale pie (!), others don’t go over so well. Thank you for all that you do mama pea. You make my nights in my kitchen easier and time spent at the dinner table more enjoyable.
Congrats, Sarah!! I love the “vegan value” posts – and think that’s something we can never have enough of! I hear “it’s too expensive to eat healthy” WAY too often, and I love having recipes on hand to disprove it
Wow, congratulations!
Honestly, I can’t think of anything specific for the new cookbook. I loved the first one so much, I would just like more your stories and recipeas. Just for fun, what about some more holiday meal plans?
Congrats on the second book! What I wanna see: chocolate.
Anything with chocolate! More chocolate than ever before. Mountains of chocolate.
You’re not the only one who’s hormonal right now.
Congrats on the new book!! I’d love to see more Asian-inspired recipes! That Kung Pao tofu looks amazing!!
congrats on the new book deal.
those coconut cream donguts look wonderful. have you ever thought about including some veggie dog treats? my pups would surely appreciate some
You should make more kinds of the famous and delicious dough balls!
Congrats! I would love to see some crock-pot recipes in the new cookbook.
I’m so excited, the first book was officially my first cookbook and this upcoming one will be my second!
I have no requests, I’m sure anything you do will be great! Congrats…:)
I’d love to see some recipes with a very short, or at least very inexpensive, ingredient list. Sometimes vegan/veggie recipes have sooo many ingredients that on my budget, I can’t even try them!
i would love to see more recipes with black beans
Congrats on the new book!!! I would love to see some crock pot recipes in your new book….love love love coming home to an already “cooked” meal.
I’d like to see creative ingredient substitutions noted in recipes for those times when we don’t have something on hand…ie flax for an egg
I would love to see some yummy vegan Thai recipes like papaya salad (it’s difficult to get that spicy, yummy flavor without the fish sauce!), panang curry (I can’t ever seem to get it right on my own), and Thai bubble tea (if I could figure out a way to make those “bubbles” without gelatin and the tea part without condensed milk, I would be one very happy vegan!
I would like to see a “30 minute meals” section or crockpot section for those of us who stink at time management. so glad there’s going to be a 2nd book!
I totally thought from my reader that this was a baby pea story!! I’d love to see notes about what will/could work modified for gluten-free flour. Obviously, you wouldn’t test everything, but perhaps some of the baked goods? Congratulations on the Pea2 book deal!
I’d love to see recipes that are high in protein without being too high in carbs.
I’m pretty sure it’s already been mentioned, but anything with PUMPKIN! I could eat pumpkin foods all day, I kid you not.
Also I’m a sucker for all kinds of bean dips and can ALWAYS use a couple more in my stash, so more hummuses (is that a word?) and bean dips would be a good addition to your new book.
Another book?! Awesome! Your cookbook is one of my favorites. The recipes are easy to make, vegan, and taste great! I would like to see a kids favorites section in the next book. I can’t wait!
I’d love to see an original recipe from the girls!!! I think listing the nutritional value of ingredients would be awesome! For example, the benefits of tofu or nutritional yeast…
Looking forward to the next one!
I would love to see more recipes for quick weeknight meals. With three kids we always have somewhere to be! Thx for the chance to win!
Congrats Sarah! How exciting!! I’d love to see some crockpot recipes and if course mire lively stories about the Pea family!!
Having two little girls myself, I’d love to see a kid’s lunch menu sections. Raw veggies & hummus can only last so long.
Congrats on book #2!!!
I’m excited for your new book! I’d love to see some gluten-free recipes and/or what substitutions you’d recommend to make something gluten-free. And those thin mint cookies
YAY for second book mama pea. Soup and sandwich ideas for lunchtime would be great. I do a lot of packed lunches and soup and sandwiches or a salad in pita really do it for me
Thank you!
How exciting. Love the idea of kid section, a good gluten free flour mixture. It will be great anyway you do it.
Wow I’m so so happy for you! And still need to get your first book (I feel so ashamed!!) I’d love gluten-free items in the second book! (Though I’m sure you had some in the first!)
Congratulations on your second book deal. I can’t wait to get the coconut cream doughnut recipe. I would love to see a Szechuan Tofu recipe! I would also love some that can be transformed into more than one meal.
Wow. Awesome! Congrats! I can’t wait 4 the new book! A bulk cooking or budget friendly section, in the next book?
What great news! I’d love to see more easy soup or entree recipes– maybe something featuring zucchini or eggplant? I’m a grad student and don’t always have the time (or skill) to make a good meal. Thank you for all the great recipes and funny stories!
Wow a second book, awesome! Would love to see a gluten free, sugar free, bread recipe. And anything chocolate! I love the family stories, so please keep them coming. Best of luck.
I would LOOOVE to seem some creamy (but without the cream – obviously) mint chocolate chip ice cream and espresso ice cream… I have a crazy weakness for them, but am 1) lactose -intolerant (hence eating vegan often though not official) 2) a poor medical student who seriously cannot dish out for the store bought versions as much as I’d like (i.e. ever).
On a random note, your website has been such an inspiration. I stumbled upon it and started reading more frequently a few months ago when I can for ideas for dinner and they never cease to amaze me. I really hope the more I cook vegan I can ease into that lifestyle from where I”m currently at. Thanks so much!!!
Wow, so exciting about the new book!!! I am still saving to buy the first one :/ but from what I hear/see, it’s amazing! I’ve only been vegetarian for a little over a year now and I love it however I do have some trouble finding diversity with the stuff I eat because finding time to cook in college is always…well, tough. BUT! If I do ever get the book (hopefully!), I would love to hear more stories about your girls! They are adorableeeee!
I’d love to have a great vegan smoked sausage recipe. Plus I just love reading about your life, you have such a great sense of humor.
I would LOVE to see some more recreated recipes from readers. Those always turn out even better than the originals!
Oh my gosh!! Soooooo exciting!
I can’t wait for your new book!
What would I love to see in it? Well those donuts look amazing, they HAVE to be in there! I’d also love to see…. hmmm… a gingerbread cake recipea? A few bread recipeas? Muffins/cupcakes/cakes…. Some more tofu dishes… and noooodles!
Congrats on the book deal!
Yum!! Sooo excited! I would love to see some crockpot recipes as well as a few quick& easy recipes, since I’m usually on the go. Oh, and I NEED that thinmint recipe. Drooooool :p
more cookies!
In the next book’s “packable” section, I would love to see some more recipes for sandwiches…so that I can have something more creative than my usual hummus lettuce and tomato!
I already bought the book, but would love to win some dough balls made by Mama Pea!!!!
Congrats on the second book! Way to go!
I would love a Caramel Delight/Samoa cookie recipe! You know those Girl Scout cookies that taste like an Almond Joy? Coconut and chocolate together are way too good!
I love your tater tot casserole! Would love to see French toast!
Whoa, this may be ambitious here, but more gluten free ideas?
I would like to see a section for meat substitute recipes and a section for sauces. I prefer to make my own food rather than rely on store bought items.
Congratulations! Such exciting news! I want more of those delicious vegan recipes, just can’t get enough!
Yay! Congrats we are looking forward to your new book!! We would love to see a “General Tao’s Tofu” recipea! I just had to add, my 10 month old daughter LOVES your cookie dough balls – lite, when ever I have one she starts saying “Mmmmmm” and puts her hands out (indicating she wants some!!) it’s so cute. Just had to share
thanks for the great recipeas, keep’em coming!
Oh my god, amazing. Definitely would like to see some good take-to-work/school lunches that are easy to prepare
I was expecting baby news too! Super happy for you. I still get nothing done at work because I’m working my way through the archives. I’m in August of last year. Sometimes I snort because I don’t want to laugh out loud at work. Sometimes I email the posts to my husband because we have much in common.
I have soy and wheat sensativities (I know) so allery info would be awesome. Maybe soy free and gluten free icons?
I’m so happy for you! I would love recipes that are “light,” meaning low fat and low calorie. I have a sweet tooth but I don’t want to gain weight eating dessert.
I am so excited for you. I would love to see more low fat recipes.
I would love to see more lightened-up recipeas!
I am so excited for the new book! I personally would like to see more dessert, all of yours are ammmaazing. I do not miss the butter at all
Congratulations! That’s such great news! I would love to see Pealightful recipeas!
My printer and I would like to see all the recipes from your blog in the new book. It’s getting tired from printing them all!
YAY!! So excited and happy for you and your family!! (and for all your readers
I would love to see more “ethnic” options…you’ve got so many great ones, but I still can’t get enough!
How exciting!!!! I am curious about what kind of soaked cashew dessert you would come up with. No sugar, no flour and no peanuts should be included.
Awesome, I’m so excited! Congratulations!
I always says this, but I’ll say it again: I’d love a recipe for chocolate chip cookie dough balls (without nut butter). I can’t wait for the second book!
Congrats! That’s really exciting!
I would love to see more quick recipes – maybe 15-30 minutes. I’m a mom and a nurse – constantly running, but still want to feed my family well
More stories!! They always crack me up!! You are truley an amazing writer. Keep up the good work
Hi Sarah! So excited about another book! Living on Guam we don’t have access to all the wonderful ingredients that are required for many of your recipes. Perhaps some more recipes which include the most basic items which may not always be seen in a vegan kitchen?
Yay!!! I love love love the first book and now I have to wait patiently to add your next one to my cookbook fetish!!!
I saw someone else posted this already but I totally agree, eggnog? … Is this even possible?! Some others I would love to see and perhaps more do-able, lemon meringue pie or butter chicken!
Congrats!
Congrats on the new book deal. I think for the next book it would be awesome if you split up the sections based on the season (like squash and apple recipes in the fall etc…) It would motivate me to go to the farmers market to pick seasonal produce
yahhh! i thought you were having another baby but this is just as good
im hoping for some more quick dinner ideas with just a few ingredients!
I’m so excited for you! And, selfishly, for me! Congratulations! I’ll second what has been said above — make-ahead lunches and freezable dinners
Oh, and cupcakes. Lots of cupcakes.
Wow- congratulations!!!! I’d like to see recipes good for little kids to assist with.
I would love to see some single serving recipes in the next issues of P&TY…because I cook alone.. and it’s sad. wahhhhh!
p.s. so excited for you
eep!!! <– that's my excited voice.
Oh!!! Mama Pea!!! SOOOO excited…it sounds wonderous!! Can’t wait. I would like to see some more veggies!!! Thanks for the chance to win this awesome prize!!!
I would love more kid’s lunch ideas! Congrats! I would love to win the prize
So exciting!! I would like to see more entree recipes with only a few ingredients.
how about peas and thank you tv dinners.
and pea kitty rocks.
