The One You’ve Been Waiting For (GIVEAWAY)

It’s about to get crazy up in here.

“Swimming with an umbrella” crazy.

IMG_0286-2

“Pea Daddy’s going to kill me for letting his landscaping go to hell, but that looks so fun I can’t say no” crazy.

IMG_0291

“Mama let me paint while she was on a conference call” crazy.

IMG_0302

IMG_0304

“Pickles and bladder control-challenged peas are art” crazy.

IMG_0305-2

I wanted to invoke a little censorship, but Gigi said, “Maybe they’ll put this in a museum someday” and who am I to crush her dream?

The point is, the next few weeks around here are going to be crazy.

Radio interviews.

Feature article photo shoots.

Morning TV shows.

Live cooking demos.

Lots of dough ball baking, waterproof swimming, dirty, dirty feet, borderline dirty pictures and well, Lulu being colorful.

I promise to you to try to keep it as normal as I can around these parts. That’s not saying much, now is it?

But I cherish this place.  I cherish YOU.  I want to keep giving you more, and not just mediocre more, more of what you want.

Starting with this giveaway and a little research.  Let’s call it “pea”search.

Each of the six winners of this giveaway will receive an autographed book.  Not an artist’s interpretation of the book, not a Peas and Thank You air freshener infused with “new book” smell, not even a signed book preview.

IMG_0154

The actual, real live, signed book.

Yeah, baby.

In addition, we’re giving away 6 Pea Packs, containing:

IMG_9052

  • One 11 ounce ceramic mug w/ sealable lid,
  • An apron for those cookin’ mamas,
  • A reusable shopping bag and
  • A sweet lil’ pea bib.

I’ll pick 3 winners from the comments here and 3 winners from Twitter.   Contests runs from now until midnight EST on Sunday, July 31st.

What type of recipeas do you want more of?

You can gain another entry by becoming a fan of Peas and Thank You on Facebook (and then coming back here and leaving a comment here telling me you did.

Good luck!  It’s going to be crazy around here, kids, but it’s going to be fun.

Here’s today’s stop on the Peas and Thank You Virtual Book Tour with Tina of Carrots N’ Cake!

  1. Holly says:

I just made my first batch of Mmm sauce and want to put it on EVERYTHING! It’s so good, so easy, and so versatile! Thanks :)

  2. Rachel says:

More green monster recipes! And more all-in-one vegetarian meals for kids (i.e. casseroles)…

  3. Holly says:

I “liked” Peas and Thank You on facebook.

And realized I didn’t answer the post question – woops! I have a crazy fall coming so I’d love more recipes that can be made on the weekends and will keep and/or freeze so they can be eaten during the busy week!

  4. mary ann says:

    oobviously im already a f-book fan ;)

  5. Kim says:

I am new to your site, but after reading through the cookbook, I’d say I’d like to see more of your breakfast, lunch, snack/sides, and dessert recipes—-or dinners without tofu or seitan or meat substitutes (so just about more of everything….LOL). The cookbook recipes look really great! And I look forward to finding recipes on the site too. Thanks!

  6. Anna Beth says:

I love your smoothie recipeas! I’m in my first trimester, and ALL I want are smoothies! Gimme more!

  7. Meredith says:

My boyfriend and I eat a lot of meat and while I’m not going strictly veg, both of us are interested in eating less meat. He’s even from India where he grew up not eating any beef and eating a fairly vegetarian diet. I’d be interested in some good man-pleasin’ food. I’ve always loved your recipes, and I know Daddy Pea does too, but something more palate friendly to men and to general audiences. I don’t want to have to say “this is a vegan version of _____”, just ” this is this awesome dish, you’ll love it” and blow their minds away.

  8. Chez says:

More sauce recipes (like mmm sauce, etc) that you can throw over rice or pasta and veggies and beans or whatever. Yum! Also more recipes using beans – so cheap & so good! :)

  9. Deah Solomon says:

I can’t get enough of your recipe makeovers! I love how you creatively “veganify” traditional meat-based recipes. Who would have ever thought you could veganify jucy lucys!

  10. Angela says:

I would love to see some more lil’ pea friendly lunch-box recipeas.

  11. Angela says:

    Facebook fan!!

  12. Anna says:

Wow, sooo many comments your comment box isn’t even big enough to hold the number! That’s wonderful!

I would like to see some more interesting smoothie recipeas and good nutrition bar recipeas (stuff that i can take with me for a quick, healthy in-between classes meal). =)

  13. Anne Weber-Falk says:

It would be nice to see recipes using more varieties of beans. I like chickpeas and black beans and I understand why we use them more but seeing more ideas using other types of beans would be great. Thank you!

  14. Elizabeth says:

Love recipeas that encourage my kiddos to get more of those yummy veggies in every day!

  15. Elizabeth says:

    “Liked” you on Facebook, too!

  16. Jacquie says:

I “like” you on Facebook… but hope we can meet soon the next time you’re in NYC :)

id love to see more healthy snack recipeas… =)

  18. I would like to see more raw recipes from you:) Duh:) SO THRILLED FOR YOU!

  19. Lisa says:

I’d like to see some recipes that are portable. I need something that’s easy to eat on-the-go, besides sandwiches.

  20. Kara says:

I’d love to see more breakfast recipeas! My favorite meal of the day :-)

  21. Victoria says:

Hmmmm…I would love to see more comfort food like casseroles or appetizers for fall football parties.

  22. Victoria says:

And I am already a facebook fan!

  23. courtney says:

I love your main dishes, especially the casserole-type ones that you throw together and bake. I also LOVE your wannabe recipeas, and would like to submit my formal request for a Mama Pea biscuits and gravy recipea! A local restaurant makes these amazing biscuits with shredded carrots and a creamy vegan gravy with onions that I could eat DAILY, but my wallet says no.

Most importantly though, I want more Tommy Bahama cracks ;)

  24. Amna says:

I would love to see more healthy portable lunch options

  25. Tiffany says:

I would love to see more frugal yet healthy recipeas.

  26. courtney says:

    I am a Facebook fan! :)

  27. Corri says:

Ok–I am a Mama Pea with a Peaschooler and a Sweet Lil Pea–and so more recipeas that can be eaten with hands would be great–easy to eat and therefore reduce the number of dropped forks in Daddy’s foot. We are all for learning how to use utensils, but OW. Also, they will make great lunchbox pop-ins!

  28. Lindsay says:

    FB fan!

  29. Lindsay says:

I would love more oil free/ no fat added recipes! Awesome site!

  30. Amy says:

    Im a facebook fan!

  31. Amy says:

I want the autographed copy in a bad way AND that little bib for my 3 month old!!!

  32. Heather says:

More snack and lunch recipes that I can take to work with me. I like to munch at my desk while I am working and sometimes I don’t have time to heat something up for lunch, so healthy grab and go lunches are great!

  33. Robin says:

Congrats Mama Pea! I would love to see some recipes that involve few ingredients. I always see recipes that I want to try but then realize that I have to take a trip to the store and use things that I wouldn’t normal use thereby being wasteful, if that makes sense. Anyway, I would love to read your book. I am not vegan but am very interested in a vegan lifestyle!

  39. Diana says:

More vegan value recipes, please! I am young, fabulous…and broke.

  40. Heather says:

    Facebook fan!

  41. Grace Ellen says:

I’d love to see more main dishes that involve beans. We don’t care much for tofu here (I know that’s kind of blasphemous), but we do love beans. I also have to pack lunches for the first time ever for Husband who doesn’t want to take leftovers because he has 22 minutes to eat/make copies/go to the bathroom and doesn’t want to spend 2 of those minutes microwaving and a 4 year old who’s going to a new preschool and also isn’t able to take leftovers that need warming up.

  42. Jessica says:

I’d love to see more casseroles or portable lunch meals…and stuff without beans, because beans give me gas and then I get the stinkeye at the gym. :(

  43. AnneW says:

I would love to see some more breakfast recipeas! How about something savory??

  44. Ooh I’d love a signed copy pleease! And I’d love some more come-together-in-a-second-with-practically-no-effort-at-all-but-still-magically-tastes-amazing recipes. I’m starting a postgrad in September and am expecting huge amounts of stress. Also, the cheapo cheap recipes are awesome (for the same reason!). But keep ‘em all coming :)

  45. Jenny says:

    I’m a facebook fan!

  46. AnneW says:

More breakfast recipeas! How about something savory??

  47. Hilary says:

I would like to see some more quick pasta recipes…or perhaps easy to pack lunch items? I would say more baked goods (best part!) but you are probably tempted to bake ALL of the time already, like me :)

I’m a sucker for desserts, so I say bring on the sweets recipeas )

  51. Diane says:

I’d just like to see more of your usual fun and creative recipes! Seems like whatever I would think of asking for would never be as good as what you come up with on your own!

  52. Cheryl D. says:

    More Crockpot recipes:)

  53. I would love to see more dinner entree recipes….also called “man friendly” recipes. And if you have any spare time….some healthy baked good recipes including protein? I’m really loving including protein powders in my snacks.

  68. Amy says:

I would love to see more recipeas “on the cheap” – the frugal university student in me could use as much help as she can get in that department.

PS: I wanted to share this tidbit with you when I commented on the release of the book, but it slipped my mind. I don’t think I’ve EVER been so excited about a book coming out since the 7th Harry Potter novel. That’s really saying something, since the HP series trump all others in my mind – and I could never even imagine that a COOKBOOK, of all books, would bring forth that kind of excitement again. You’re awesome, and your book is everything I knew it would be.

I hope you get some rest in the upcoming whirlwind!

  69. Kinley says:

And I also already follow you on Facebook!!

  70. Bekah says:

I would love more easy meals with an emphasis on seasonal produce. Can’t wait to pick up your book! Thanks!

  71. Daniel says:

Recipes like the remake of Red Lobster’s Cheddar Biscuits and others that turn typical recipes into vegan ones would be awesome! Bonus points if they don’t use pre-made ingredients (vegan cream cheese, tortillas from a package, etc.) that end up taking up extra space in my limited college kitchen. :P

  72. Laura Ann says:

I would love more slow cooker recipes!

  73. K. says:

  76. Judy says:

I just checked out your blog this week. Seen your cookbook on the ‘Oh She Glows’ blog. Both looks great! I am not vegan, however, always enjoy trying new recipes containing simple basic foods and fruits and veggies.

  108. McIntosh says:

I would love to see seasonally focused recipes.

Also dishes made with only a few ingredients and can be put together quickly…I am impatient when hungry (:

  109. Sarah R says:

More high protein recipes! As a vegetarian athlete, I look for the recipes with the highest amount of protein. While I like light and airy meals, a cucumber sandwich won’t cut it before I train (triathlon baby!). I like beans, lentils, protein! More Please! :)

  118. Megan says:

More desserts! I have a sweet tooth so I would love to see more cookie recipes. Also meals for one/meals that can easily freeze

  119. Alicia says:

Crazy can be good! I would love to see more copy cat recipes. The ones where you take something and make it over only much better/healthier/tastier.

  120. A how-to for seitan (the making of which has always confused me, no matter how many cookbooks feature it) and accompanying recipes would be awesome. I enjoy soy/tofu but that would be a nice “meaty” change. Also, I think your made-over version of old unhealthy favorites (NutriGrain bars, oatmeal cream pies) are really popular with everybody and I’d love to see more. You’ll have to hold another poll to figure out which thing to tackle, though. :)

  121. jennifer p says:

As some other people have said, I’d like more recipes for portable foods. It’s sometimes difficult to find quality vegan food (aka not french fries) when out and about with people who eat differently than I do! Would love something I can stick in my bag to supplement those awful iceberg salads :) Thanks Sarah!

  122. debby says:

Hi! This is really funny, I just bought your book at barnes and noble online yesterday and I just liked you on facebook! As if I knew you were going to be asking soon. Haha. Well I can not wait to get the book! I am supper excited about it.

Recipes I would really like to see more of are- baked goods. Maybe breads? Or some vegan Ice cream recipes. Or some recipes that don’t contain sugar, maybe some alternative sugar sources (agave, maple syrup, coconut palm sugar, date sugar).

I really enjoy your blog. You are so funny and witty. Love it!

  123. I’m already a Facebook fan. (You know, the one who monitors your rank on the Amazon Bestseller list for everyone. ;) )

  124. cookbookconfessions says:

More high protein, less carbs, all natural ingredients!

  125. S says:

Beans! Yummy cold bean salads please :)
    Congrats on your success!

I “like” you on facebook! Thank you!

I would love more sauces and dips PEAS….
Um…also more savory anything. Snacks, salads, veggie sides.

More of anything.. you have the midas touch. Except instead of gold everything you touch turns into MMMMmmmmm.
    You have the Green-a-licious touch.

  132. Sandra says:

My daughter and myself are vegan but husband is not. I want to see some more “manish” meals. He will not eat any type of beans so I always have to make things were you don’t even realize there are beans in the recipe.

  134. Sandra says:

Also I became a fan on facebook.

  135. JennieM says:

Love everything I have tried so far. I am trying to get my family on board by LEANING into meatless Mondays…. My family is crazy about Mexican, but not so much if a bean is recognizable…so I would like to see some easy/quick Mexican recipes for the “visually picky” eater.

  136. Jo-Ann Reuter says:

I can’t wait to check out your book.

I’d love to see recipes that call for slightly lesser-known veggies … turnips, okra, radish, and rutabaga

  142. BroccoliHut says:

I would love more recipes aimed to please herbivores and omnivores alike. I don’t want to bore Seth with my same old tofu and chili!

  143. Shara says:

I love everything I’ve tried. Recipes of any sort are always welcome and wonderful! Although more ketchup recipes wouldn’t hurt… I laughed so hard over that post!

  144. Nikki says:

I want to win this cookbook so I can make my fiancee make me a nice meal from the cookbook. I had him make the mmmm sauce on my birthday and I want him to make me your veggie burgers next! He doesn’t cook so pick me so I can get him veganized!

  145. Nikki says:

I am a fan on Facebook. PS. I like Pea Kitty!

  146. ikkinlala says:

I’d love to see more protein-rich recipes without soy.

  147. Dani says:

I love all your baking ideas!! You make vegan baking so easy when it can sometimes seem complicated. Thank you!!

  148. More meals like the chickpea and dumplings or tamale pie! I’m a college kid always looking for easy, healthy, and cheap. ;)

Recipes using tofu and recipes using greens. I get stuck preparing these the same way each week!

  159. Casey says:

I would like more quick and easy dinners please!

  160. Ame says:

Hi! I would like more recipes without “quotes”. I really like recipeas that are about what you’re actually cooking. I don’t like “cheese” only to find out that it’s really hummus (because I am still vegetarian, not vegan, and I loves me some cheese). I also like hummus and want to know that I’m putting hummus in something instead of “cheese” in quotes. Know what I mean? Getting rid of processed food is also getting rid of “faux” food. I actually really really want more recipeas that are just good food and not trying to be meaty. I don’t want faux hamburgers. I want an actual veggie burger or just something new and vegetarian. Your black bean burger with the oats and mushrooms is the first veggie burger I’ve ever found that stands up and doesn’t squish out the sides when you take a bite! I am truly grateful for that recipe, I mean “recipea.” :) Congratulations on the book! It is well deserved.

  165. Jessica says:

Holy crap, 1100 comments? Awesome! I would like to see more man-friendly meals without fake meats, and lunchbox ideas. If Gigi is going to school this year, ti would be ever-so-helpful if you could post at least once a week what is included in her lunchbox.
Made your African Peanut Soup tonight. It was the first time I have made an indian-inspired meal, I loved it, as did my hubby and 2 young daughters! Thank you!!

  178. Linda says:

My daughter loves, loves your blog and continually makes your wonderful creations. I would love to win this great little set to add to my basket of birthday goodies for her, she would be thrilled. She has made many of your creations and loves each one of them. 188. joni says:

Having the book on hand would make my life that much easier! Save me mama pea!

  206. Debbie says:

I’ve only been following you for about a week, and was quickly inspired to make your lemon lentil soup. No, really I ran out to the store that day and bought the ingredients I didn’t have. And let me tell you it was AMAZING. So I would request more soups/stews since it is one of the smaller sections. Even though I live in the hot desert of Arizona for some reason I am on a soup kick. Doesn’t make sense I know.

Congrats on your already book success! How exciting!

  207. Maya says:

Some fabulous sugar free desserts would be awesome, the sort of desserts you can eat anytime. It’s tough, but I know just the blogger turned cookbook author up for the task. ;)

  211. Kelly says:

Holy Peas! How many entries can there be??? I’d like to see main dishes that my hubby and my little peas would eat. But I also love the comments about slow cooker and freezable meals, too. So, I guess I’m just easy to please! ;)

  218. Dee S says:

    I’m a facebook fan! :)

  219. Megan says:

As I am often rocking the anti-candida diet (sigh), I’d love to see some more low sugar/fruit sweetened desserts. I’m never sure how to replace the sugar in recipes with alternatives like stevia or fruit and I am certain that you could figure it out in some delicious manner.

  225. Leanne says:

Wow! Thank you so much for writing this blog! I’m a vegan mom for 3 years (was vegetarian for about 15yrs) we are raising our 8 month old daughter vegetarian. I’ve been looking for good resources to help me with planning meals for my family. I was discouraged by the very limited resources out there, and daunting recipes (I’m new to cooking) but I love your blog, your writing style, your easy to follow recipies with pictures (I’m a visual person) and its made me excited inspired and gave me a little more confidence that we can raise our daughter vegetarian and not live off of raw carrots & hummus (which is my go to) thank you so much!!

I would love to see more kids meals, under from 8 months to toddler foods. Also ideas for my husband’s lunch options, he’s a big guy I find it’s hard for us to have leftovers! Maybe we are eating too much! :)

Also more smoothie options and ice cream (vegan) :)

I also “liked” you on Facebook as well!

Can’t wait to read more! Thanks for sharing and inspiring

Yes!! Thank you! I just came from a 2hour grocery shopping trip with all kinds of goodies to start making your recipes :) lots of frozen & fresh fruit for smoothies. Going to make your chocolate cookie dough balls (light) and zucchini quinoa lasagna tonight! Yum can’t wait :)

  226. Brooke says:

You should post more recipes of things you WANT to make! (see last post) I’ve enjoyed reading all of your recipes to see how you put them together and the joy you have for cooking, even if I know it’s something I wouldn’t necessarily enjoy…which almost never happens! :-)

  227. Brooke says:

..and I already like you on Facebook!

  228. heather says:

I absolutely love your website and all of your recipe ideas! I’m helping my Dad come up with some healthy dinner ideas for himself. He’s a newly single bachelor. So any more very easy, man friendly ideas would be appreciated. Something he wouldn’t be too skeptical about to make on his own. I know all your recipes are delish…. but I don’t know how many he would try on his own. Good luck with your book!!!

  229. Andrea M says:

I can’t even say it enough, congrats! i know i don’t actually know you but I’m honestly proud of you, what a great accomplishment! i think it’s just wonderful and the day is finally here for you :) congratulations one more time haha! i would love more pealightful recipeas please!

  230. Courtney L says:

I’d love to see more ways to get my greens! I’ve been eating at least half a bunch of some leafy green every day, but I’m really getting sick of salads and putting them in smoothies! Perhaps my salads are boring…I’ll look around your site for salad ideas! Thanks :)

Congratulations on getting the book published! I am really excited to see it! I have heard nothing but great things about it!

I hesitate to make any suggestions because you always have such great ideas anyway, I don’t know what I could suggest to improve on it.

  238. Emily says:

I think that even more easy, like quick and simple, dinner recipes would be great! I mean you already have a ton of great recipeas for dinner but you can never have too many in my opinion:) p.s. you are such an inspiration for me to eat healthy everyday! Thanks so much<3

  239. Cindy says:

Hi. I have recently found your blog and just LOVE it. I have not yet tried any recipeas…..(!!!!), but am very excited to do so…we just moved, so don’t have a lot of time right now. (I know, poor excuse). But I would like to see more crock-pot recipeas also. When I work, I love to use a crock-pot. I am excited to get your book and I think I want to get one for my son who doesn’t eat meat…he will love it too!!! Thanks for the chance to win!!!

  240. Katia says:

I am blessed with one of the pickiest eaters ever. Think it is probably karma for making fun of my little sister as kids for only eating spaghetti with butter for 2 years. This one only eats pasta of any sort with olive oil, fruit, ice scream and french fries. Occasionally sliced veggies and that takes a lot of bribery! Would love to see more recipes that either hide the good stuff within the meals or fun ways of presenting healthier foods that would make him more excited to eat it! Also, became a fan on FB. Thanks!!!

  241. Suzanne says:

All of your reci”peas” are a delight to fix and eat. The other person at the table is a meat-eating landscaper (he eats meat, not landscapers!) and sports a huge ap”pea”tite at dinner so any hearty, manly entrees would be welcomed.

More spicy meals! Congratulations on your book!!

  243. Kate G says:

P.S. I now like your page on FB!

I would like to see more toddler-esque recipes! I love all of your food but for main dishes I can’t trick my kids (1 and 2) into eating things – they are so finicky right now. I’d like to see you sneak good veggies into (breakfasts ) & dinners. The only thing I’ve got going for me right now are green smoothies for their veggies. Frustrating!

  248. Cristin says:

I really want more of your great recipes, but with a larger emphasis on whole foods; no more fake cheese or imitation animal products!

  271. Mandy says:

Hi, new reader here! I live alone and therefore am usually looking for quick, healthy meals without an ingredient list a mile long. Sarah – I have a floor to ceiling bookcase in my kitchen for just cookbooks so I’ve seen a million! Yours is THE BEST! I love the brightness of it and the way it is put together is PERFECT! :)

My niece came over Friday and we did her 4-H cooking…. my donut pan fell out of the cabinet and she asked what it was…. when I told her I make smores donuts with it …. well she HAD to make them. So we ended our cooking session with your smores donut recipe and she loved it! :)

Thanks again for all you do! It is SO appreciated!

  336. Evelyn says:

Dear Mama Pea, I am a new fan on facebook and a subscriber. Would love to see some recipes with Thai and Vietnamese notes. Every one of your recipes that I have followed has been a success. My family and I say “Thank You”. This may seem an odd request, but what are your thoughts on nutritionally sound vegan options for dogs ? Do you think it is possible to have healthy dogs without serving meat ? You are an inspiration, Mama Pea, and I for one am very grateful for all the good energy and information that you put out into the world……………Peas and thank you, Evelyn

    • MamaPea says:

I haven’t looked into vegan dog food, but have read mixed things about cats. And since deep down in my heart I really do like Pea Kitty, we feed her non-veg food that is organic and ethically sourced.

      Thanks for your kind comment!

      • Evelyn says:

Oh, thank you so much. I do the same for our dogs and have been wondering about vegan options for them. I trust your knowledge and experience and am sure that if vegan cat & dog food was a viable alternative, you would know about it. Have a great weekend, Mama Pea !

  337. Laura says:

I would love to see more recipes that are inspired by classic comfort food: pizza, tacos, etc. that are quick and easy and made from whole foods. I think this is your biggest strength so keep bringing it!
I also became a fan on facebook. :D

In case I need to say it twice….I Like you, I really Like you and as of today , I am a new fan following you on facebook. All best to you, Mama Pea !!!………..xxoo, Evelyn & family

  341. Katie says:

I want to say more dessert recipes….but I’m kinda slacking in the actual “real meal” department! So lots of veggified dinners would be great :)

  342. Andrea says:

  343. FoodCents says:

Or, you can just come over & make me a birthday cake :)

Hi! I just discovered site and looking forward to reading more posts. I’d like to see quick, great tasting and nutritious recipes. Maybe something I can make in advance and freeze or keep in the fridge so I don’t have to cook every day.

  352. Silvija says:

I also became a fan on Facebook!

  353. Hmmm, well honestly I think you do a wonderful job covering all meals from various angles. They never ever disappoint and you always present them with humor – win, win! I guess if I HAD to identify something I’d love to see more of, it would be meals and/or snacks on-the-go. Portable = Automatic win.

  354. Heather m says:

More Copycat recipes that are vegan! Heart you mama pea!

  355. Audrey says:

I just recently found your website and look forward to trying your recipes and hope to order the book soon!

  356. Amanda says:

I would love more recipes without soy as the protein source. I have a soy allergy and its hard to find meat-free meals without soy in them.
I just got your book from amazon and love it!! If I got an autographed copy I would give my copy to my good friend who also likes to eat more meat-free.

  357. Megan says:

I’d love some more main dishes that aren’t soups, stews or casseroles!

    Thanks!
    Xx

  367. Holly says:

Oooo I would love to win a copy of a signed Mama Pea cookbook! I adore mine already…already have plans to make new recipes this week! BUT, I could give mine to a friend…that is requesting more vegetarian recipes..and I could keep the autographed one ;)

  372. Melissa B. says:

More summer recipes using fresh fruit!

  373. TLR says:

LOVE the book!! I stayed up and read it cover to cover. Thank you for color pictures of everything – it’s hard to find cookbooks that do. Now I want to make every recipe because they look so good.
I would only ask for more crockpot recipes or easy school lunches. Keep up the great work!

  374. Molly says:

I would love more of the “homestyle” type recipeas- the chickpeas and dumplings, mini meatloaf muffins, etc that teach my hubby he can eat vegan with me and be totally satisfied! Thanks much!

  375. TLR says:

I also like/love you on Facebook. Thanks for the contest.

  376. Aimee says:

    Meatless meals!!

  377. Dominique says:

I’d like to see more entrees and sides. My BF and I are trying to move further into the veggie realm and I always need tons of ideas and inspiration for entrees. The last meal I made him involved corn on the cob, roast sweet potato and broccoli. He loved it but I would have appreciated more pizzazz, if you know what I mean.

I also joined you on Facebook!

  378. Julia L. says:

    I’m a fan on facebook!

I love your “Pealightful” series and would love to see more ideas there. Also, I’m a big fan of any quick recipes that don’t involve too much prep or stove time!

  379. Nicki says:

I would LOVE to see more make-ahead-and-freeze meals or just quick and easy meals.

  380. Molly says:

ps. does this count if I already am a fan on facebook?? :)

  381. Jaimie says:

I would love more dessert recipes! LOVE vegan desserts!!

  382. Megan says:

I preordered your cookbook CENTURIES ago and FINALLY got it in the mail yesterday!! I got off work and there it was in my kitchen waiting for me in all its glory! I was so excited I did a little song and dance to myself… and then I started flipping through it. I amost “pea’d” myself when i saw you have the carb counts to all the recipeas!! I’m a type I diabetic so that is VERY helpful. So I just wanted to say THANK YOU for your magical cookbook! It is seriously the best one I have ever had! I’m considering buying an extra copy so i can have a goo-stained one I use all the time, and one that stays pretty on my shelf :) So as to what kind of recipea I’d like to see more of, I would say, “Make anything your heart desires, because I’m sure it will be fabulous and I will love it”!!

    • MamaPea says:

That is so sweet. I just read your whole comment out loud to Pea D because it tickled me so. Thank you! I hope to give you more delicious, nutritious recipeas!

  385. Whitney says:

I would love more quick and easy lunches that I could pack and take to work with me.

  386. Kathy says:

I love all your recipes! Since we are trying to eat low fat, I would have to vote for low or no fat recipes. Also, what to eat for lunch in a hurry

  387. Ashley says:

I love your dinner entrees…they are always delish!

  388. Ashley says:

    I’m a fb fan!

  389. Alyna says:

    I’m a fan on facebook!!

  390. Alyna says:

Do you ever use a dehydrator? I bought one and don’t know a whole lot about what I can do with it yet. Maybe you could highlight different ways to use the tools/appliances you use a lot in your own kitchen rather than certain types of food.

  391. Erin says:

I would like to see more meals that are quick to pull together for week night dinners. I usually make salads for dinner at least once during the work week, but I would love to learn some delicious, healthy, and quick meals I can make for my hubby. We are not vegetarians (yet!) but he is actually adjusting well to our veggie nights and all the meatless meals I trick him into eating and thinking they have meat! :)

  392. Erin says:

And I just “liked” Peas and Thank you on Facebook.

  393. Grace says:

I’m a college student living in the dorms, so I really appreciate simple, easy recipeas that taste amazing and are quick to make! I rarely make food for myself (usually I eat in the dining center, no bueno!) and when I occasionally do I’ve love to try out some of your simple recipeas, as long as the ingredients are easy to find at my local grocery store. :)

  396. Janet says:

Seasonal recipes, please! Though seasons vary all over the country, and you’re lucky enough to live so near California, we crave recipes that are in line with our seasonal eating. Thank you!

  397. Vik says:

I am a lazy vegan cook, so appreciate recipes with few ingredients and ease of prep/ clean-up. Thanks!

  398. Amber says:

I’m a big fan of the pealightful recipes! Also, recipes that can be quick for work/lunch.

  399. Jen Crandall says:

I would love more smoothie and snack recipeas. I am also dying for that ceramic mug!

  400. Leah says:

Since we don’t eat dairy, I’d love to see dairy free recipes.

  401. Leah says:

I liked you on fb :)

  402. Katie says:

I would love to see more recipes without faux meats. I love all your recipes!

  403. Christie says:

Loving the cookbook! I would like to see you redo things like candy bars, E.i. twix, and other everyday Not-so- good-for-you snacks! :-)

  404. Dana says:

Congratulations on your book! Love the vegan values meals. I would love to see more kid-lunch-box ideas too.

  405. Annie says:

    I “liked” you on Facebook!!

  406. Dana Capobianco says:

I’d love to see more, “we eat this on days when we don’t have much time to spend cooking” and more, “little kid (or toddler, even) friendly” meals! Thanks!

  407. Annie says:

I would love to learn new slow cooker recipes. Having an eleven month old has taken cooking dinner to a new more challenging level!!

  408. RunEatRepeat says:

I like you on Facebook. Also, in real life :)

  409. Kim says:

I’d love to see more quick meals – I can never get enough of easy lunches that I can pack for work. : )

  410. Amy says:

I’d love some more Pealightful meals and some more slow cooker meals too!

  411. Becky A says:

Trying to convert the family to veg and would love more wannabe recipes to switch them over…also anything that subs cheese!

Also just “liked” your page on fb!

  412. Shannon says:

I would love to see more high protein lunches that can be eaten cold…other than salads. I don’t always have access to a microwave and a salad can be difficult to eat when I am driving down the road!

Also, quick and easy weeknight meals. Some nights are so crazy busy, we may only be at home for 20 minutes at a time and it can be difficult to get the kids something to eat that will keep there energy levels up for gymnastics/baseball/cheerleading/soccer…oh yeah, and we need the energy to keep up with them!

I am the only vegetarian (forced vegan) in the house. My husband and son are die-hard meat eaters and my daughter kind of floats in between the two. This makes meals a little more difficult, but at least everyone likes their fruits and veggies!

I have to say, I love that your recipes are not soy heavy! So many veggie cookbooks lean heavily on soy as their protein source when there are so many options out there that get overlooked!

  413. Kristen says:

I, like many other people, would love to see more meals that my meat-loving boyfriend would eat!! Usually he sees a dinner plate with lots of vegetables and immediately assumes it won’t be appetizing and he won’t be full. Help me help him and other carnivores out there :)
I also already liked you on facebook!

  414. Michelle says:

I’d love more wannabe recipes and smoothie recipes.

  415. Michelle says:

    I’m already a facebook fan!

  416. I’d love more GF recipes!

  417. Christine says:

Maybe some smoothie recipes and definately more sweets!! I love your recipes :) xoxoxoox

    I’d like to see ‘potluck’/'party’/portable recipes p’ease. :)

  421. Megan says:

I bought you’re book today! At first I couldn’t find it and i made the BN employee look for it… but success! i’m an aspiring vegetarian… but dont do tofu, beans and well im what you might call picky.. but you’re book brought tears to my eyes! i just love reading about your little family!

  422. Heather says:

I would love to see more recipea’s that don’t require a lot of ingredients that I may not have around the house.I love your quick and easy meals the best, or more things requiring hummus or Yummmm sauce heh

Or maybe for Lulu’s sake more pickle recipeas :)

  423. Sara S. says:

You are quite the busy pea!

I’m always looking for more vegan entrees (and yours are always delicious), so that’s my pick.

  424. crystal says:

I love learning new meatless meals and healthy desserts. You can never have enough guilt free goodies or quick, easy & healthy meals… so more of those would be great. :)

  425. Jenny says:

I would love to see more “beefy” recipes. The Hubb’s biggest complaint is that vege meals leave him hungry and wanting more. I have been able to trick him in the past, but he’s getting sneakier and starting to read recipes. I made the Mmmm sauce and as he licked his his lips and fingers (yes, I saw you double dip!) he found the empty garbonzo bean can, immediately turned up his nose and declared as a committed bean-hater that it tasted “beany” all along. I rolled my eyes, but was secretly glad that there was more for me!

  426. Marie R. says:

I love the wannabe recipes too and would love to see more of those. Personally, I like ethnic food so I love when you do your twist on Mexican and Asian dishes. Perhaps more Middle Eastern recipes?

  427. Stephanie says:

Easy, healthy, quick entrees! I cook for my me and my fiance after a full day at work and sometimes I just need dinner to be made quick! I am also helping my fiance transition to a healthier lifestyle and he loves your recipes!

  428. Marsha says:

I would like to see more meals that are soy free.

  429. lisampls says:

puzzle umbrella, i die. i want!

it’s hard to ask for recipes because here is what my thought process has been–”oooh! ask for smoothie recipes! that cake batter smoothie can’t be beat. or can it…can SHE!?!?” then i realize, um, hello, that COOKBOOK that just arrived already has some flagged smoothie recipes. If the only good thing that came out of that tortured Tammy Bahama restaurant visit was that recipe, it was worth every awkward moment.

then i think–”oooooh! quick breads (done!), bars (done, done & done), cookies (check!), brownies (single chine, double check!)” and i then realize, i need to visit your PeaLightful Plan page and just leave well enough alone!!!

  430. Claire says:

I love dinner recipes, especially beefy ones

  431. Id love some more veggie burger recipeas!!

  432. Becky says:

I would love to see some more sugar- and gluten-free desserts :D

  433. Colleen says:

As a busy student/worker, I would really love to see some crockpot-friendly or freezable veggie recipes, particularly those that feature beans/tofu and not fake meat (so they’re budget friendly too!) Love your site and your new book!

  434. KY Pam says:

I would love to have more recipes for quick, yummy dinners! My teenage son became a vegetarian over a year ago and a vegan about 6 months ago. I am trying very hard to accommodate his dietary commitment with delicious, nutritious dinners. Getting a little tired of curry and stir fry……
I love your blog and plan to buy the book today!

  435. KY Pam says:

Liked your facebook page yesterday…..second contest entry….woooo whoooo!!!!

  436. Sarah says:

More quesadilla / mexican recipes peas!

  437. Sharon says:

I became a Facebook fan. Just discovered your blog and ordered your cookbook so still checking your recipes out. Big thing for us is having recipes that are relatively quick but yet delicious and healthy – the ultimate quest. Eating fresh involves the inevitable prep of chop, chop and more chopping. Any tips in the recipes re. how to break up the work so that dinner is quick once we walk in the door – eg. in evening before or morning, do step 1 to 3. Also, if you could do up meals vs. recipes, love that approach – Jamie Oliver does it in “Meals in Thirty Minutes” and it’s a big hit in our house.

  438. Sarah says:

I now like you on Facebook.

  439. Mel says:

Just bought your book this weekend! I keep pouring over the pages, laughing, oohing and aahhing and shooting dirty looks at my husband when he tries to interrupt my pea lovin’ reverie. Awesome job on the book. I can’t wait to try out your recipes.

  440. Megan says:

I liked Peas on Facebook! I also tried the sloppy Josephines this week, and they were awesome. I’m not vegan, so I like recipes like that, which don’t require the purchase of faux meat or cheese.

  441. I’d love more comfort, cozy food (similar to your chickpeas and dumplings) as we start to get closer to fall!

  442. I already like ya on Facebook! I like ya a lot. ;)

  443. Heather Blake says:

Oh gosh, I just recently discovered your blog and can’t believe what I’ve been missing! I have so many recipes bookmarked to try and while there are no little peas here the mister (and the dogs!) approve of the ones we’ve tried so far. Congrats on your book!

  444. Sally says:

I would like to see more pealightful recipes! I am trying to loose some weight and would like to see filling recipes packed with protein and nutrients but not too fattening

  445. Karen says:

I would like more recipeas without beans. Your recipeas with beans always look scrumptious, but I have never been able to acquire a taste for beans. Thank you for the awesome giveaway!

  446. Autumn Tao says:

I’d love to see vegan BFL meals… as I’m giving it a go tomorrow! Thanks and congratulations on your success.

  447. Sara S says:

I especially appreciate egg-less baked goods. And I am now a facebook fan!

  448. Jeanna says:

Hmm, I’d love to use my juicer more, but I feel kind of guilty throwing away the pulp. Anything you can whip up with the leftovers (there was maybe a cracker recipe once)? Also, some more pack-and-go type recipes. Thanks!

  449. Porsha says:

I love making and trying food from different regions of the world, maybe once a week or month you could make an authentic or famous dish with a vegan twist! I’d love to see that.

  450. MICHELLE FORD says:

EVERYDAY I LOOK TO SEE IF YOUVE POSTED ANYTHING NEW. YOURE FAMILY MAKES ME SMILE. THE GIRLS ARE SOOO CUTE.

  451. Courtney says:

I’d really like to see more recipeas that I can take to-go. This semester I’m at school for 9 hours straight with no lunch break, so some more recipeas that I could stick in my lunch box, not have to heat, and munch in class would be great.

  452. Moira says:

Good luck this weekend with the book numbers! Just posted on fb.

Make ahead meals might be helpful. Also, good sources of protein for teenage athletes. (My soccer player eats plenty but I’m always looking for new ideas.)

  453. Leora says:

I would love more gluten-free or wheat-free recipes! While I don’t have celiac disease, I find that avoiding wheat works for me ;) .

    Congratulations, Mama Pea!

  454. Alyssa says:

More dessert recipes and high protein lunch or dinner meals!

  455. Lillian says:

  470. Jill in Chicago says:

Oh wow, what a tough question to answer! I love all of your bars and ‘snack balls’ (cookie dough balls light) but I think what I could really use are recipes or instructions for easy weeknight meals. Like 20-minute meals.

  476. carly says:

Congrats on the book!!! I would like to see more lentil dishes!

  477. I’d like to see “gateway” meals. I’ve been toying with the idea of going fully veg and also want to get my boyfriend on board (to facilitate the process). The other week I made some of Jenna’s (Eat, Live, Run) “Boyfriend-Approved Spicy Black Bean Burgers” (with a few alterations) and my boyfriend went nuts over them. After he walked into the kitchen saying, “Something smells delicious!” but then making a face when I said they were meatless burgers, I let him take a bite of one of mine and he then immediately ate two.
I do need to go back and finally try out some of the recipeas/meal plans you did for Pea Daddy’s friend, but even more new to the vegetarian lifestyle meals would be awesome!

  478. Sharina says:

I’d love to see more gluten free options as I have been slowly trying to get away from it. Our son is an allergy baby so gluten and wheat free recipes are always something I’m in search of :)

  483. Samantha says:

I’d love some meals to serve my boyfriend, but I know he won’t go for tofu/tempeh/etc. What can I make that is guy-friendly?

All of your recipes look delicious, but I especially like the ones with common ingredients and that don’t contain faux meat so more of those would be great! (I am going to try the Mmmm sauce this week- can’t wait to try it!)

  500. Whitney says:

And I’m now a fan on Facebook!

  501. Ginnie says:

How about a whole series of condiment recipes to go along with those ketchup recipes? Maybe there is another cookbook in your future!

Actually I’d love more of the “value” meals, main dish meals without tofu, and I could never get enough of any of your baked goods! Thanks for asking and I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

  505. Amy says:

I am definitely one of your BiGGEST fans! I also have little girls and I love seeing the healthy recipes you make for your girls. Our favorite is your chocolate chip zucchini muffins and many of your other recipes for baking. I’d love to see more vegan dinner ideas that don’t involve tofu. I’m still too scared of tofu, although I want to try cooking with it eventually! Thanks!

  506. Kristen says:

I would love to see more quick lunch-time meals :) Already a fan on FB!

  507. Melissa says:

I would like to see on the go snacks and a replacement for buffalo chicken wraps that doesn’t involve thempeh (or however it’s spelled). If I can’t spell it, I shouldn’t eat it….right? lol.

  511. Vegan values posts are my favorites!!

  512. sarah says:

I would like to see recipes that non-vegan boys in my family would like!haha No really I think it would be great to have some ideas for lunch that are rather cheap and some easy dinner ideas. NOT that you don’t already have these but this is what I am looking for. With this heat we just DON’T want to cook so non-cooked items are a good one too :) Thanks so much for your fabulous blog!!!
    Shorty

  513. sarah says:

I am now a fan on FB :)

  514. Kelley says:

I like all of your recipes. I think I’d like you to continue the vegan value meals. Some vegan cooking blogs have things I like to look at, but they are not things I could actually do because I never have the ingredients. It’s not worth it if I have to spend $50 at the grocery store for one meal! Also, I really love your snack and dessert items because they are things I can actually do in my small kitchen with my small amount of time. They are not overly complicated. Oh and my kid WILL eat them!

  515. Taylor says:

Sarah, are you selling those pea packs at all? I love the mug & would definitely buy one!

    • MamaPea says:

Thanks, Taylor! We’ve thought about it, but I’m just not sure if it’d be feasible with the costs. I don’t want to have 80 mugs sitting in my garage :) I’ll let you know if we decide to go ahead with it!

  516. Jenn says:

I just “liked” you on Facebook!

  517. Jenn says:

I like you for reals too. And I love recipeas in tune with the seasons!
