The One You’ve Been Waiting For (GIVEAWAY)

It’s about to get crazy up in here.

“Swimming with an umbrella” crazy.

IMG_0286-2

“Pea Daddy’s going to kill me for letting his landscaping go to hell, but that looks so fun I can’t say no” crazy.

IMG_0291

“Mama let me paint while she was on a conference call” crazy.

IMG_0302

IMG_0304

“Pickles and bladder control-challenged peas are art” crazy.

IMG_0305-2

I wanted to invoke a little censorship, but Gigi said, “Maybe they’ll put this in a museum someday” and who am I to crush her dream?

The point is, the next few weeks around here are going to be crazy.

Radio interviews.

Feature article photo shoots.

Morning TV shows.

Live cooking demos.

Lots of dough ball baking, waterproof swimming, dirty, dirty feet, borderline dirty pictures and well, Lulu being colorful.

I promise to you to try to keep it as normal as I can around these parts. That’s not saying much, now is it?

But I cherish this place.  I cherish YOU.  I want to keep giving you more, and not just mediocre more, more of what you want.

Starting with this giveaway and a little research.  Let’s call it “pea”search.

Each of the six winners of this giveaway will receive an autographed book.  Not an artist’s interpretation of the book, not a Peas and Thank You air freshener infused with “new book” smell, not even a signed book preview.

Yeah, baby.

In addition, we’re giving away 6 Pea Packs, containing:

    • Mellissa says:

Yes! More gluten free or recipes that are easy to make the swap to GF. As I’m slowly converting, I’m realizing how much vegetarian foods are based off wheat, especially convenience foods. Sad :(

I did make the green bean casserole and used swaps to make it GF! It was so awesome! More mushrooms instead of the tofurky sausage, rice flour, gf soy sauce, and trader joes onion crisps (like funyons) and gf bread for the top. Was amazing and my hubby almost at the whole casserole dish full.

Much as I would love to be able to add something original I would also love to see more slow cooker recipeas. I have come to the conclusion these past few months that the slow cooker is the commuting, full-time worker’s bestest ever friend.

  37. I would like to see more of your Vegan Values meals. Its nice to see healthy meals that not only look tasty, but that a tight budget can allow.

I’d also like to see some more examples of what your family eats in a day. Now i know that you’re all a bunch of busy peas, so i’d be perfectly happy with just a list of examples. :)

  38. Amy S. says:

They would have to swim with umbrellas in the PNW, wouldn’t they? ;)

I’d like to see some more savory, veggie-heavy soup recipes! Preferably crockpot soups, seeing as I just got a fancy new crockpot today, and now that I am going back to school it would really help me out. I also love lentils but I am scared to cook with them!

I need some new quick or make ahead dinner recipes. I am stuck in a rut for the 3 days a week that I work late and need to get something on the table quickly (stir fry, enchiladas, then breakfast for dinner….every week). BTW I made the meatloaf muffins tonight, and my 3 year old ate every bite because they were yummy AND because she was flipping through your book before dinner and I told her that the girls on those pictures love meatloaf muffins!

  52. Rosalie says:

I would like more Heinz ketchup recipes ;)

But, if you can’t be bothered to out-create the geniuses behind ketchup butter, recipeas that freeze well would make me a happy camper, and/or recipeas with smaller yields (can you tell I’m headed off to university?)

  53. Rosalie says:

Bonus entry: I’ve had you on my Facebook Like list for awhile :D

  54. Bailey says:

  69. Katie says:

How on earth would you be able to fill our requests on what MORE recipes we’d like to see? You’ve done SO much already and I’m so happy for you and congrats on your new book! I am a rule follower though so let’s see…I’d like to see some recipeas that are easy to make. Maybe a “throw in a crockpot” sort of easy.

    • Gurminder says:

Oh I like this idea too! I’ve always been wary of freezing homemade food but if Mama Pea can create meals that survive in the freezer than I am willing to try!

  79. Gurminder says:

How about a recipe for crazy fun? :P
There are so many of your recipes that I still want to make, but I don’t mind having more to add to the list! I was wondering if you could do more “quick and easy” type meals, like for college students or others who are short on time and want to just throw a few ingredients together? Anyone can make a meal out of throwing some ingredients together but if it was a reci-pea from Peas and Thank You, I could count on it being healthy and delicious, as always!

Looking forward to some crazy posts!

    • Gurminder says:

I just liked Peas and Thank You on facebook! I love your witty posts, I don’t know why I didn’t think of the facebook page sooner….sorry!

  84. Katie says:

Please, PEAS, more of the recreation recipes! I’m dying for a vegan sub for chicken salad?? I can’t come up with a substitute for that! You’re great with all the sweets and new recipeas that I would never think of, but for those of us trying to go meatless and/or vegan, the twists on meaty favorites are definitely the most beneficial! You rock! And I can’t wait to get your book!!

  85. Drake says:

I love all the wannabe recipeas. Everything is delicious!

  86. Jackie Smith says:

  90. Courtney M. says:

I’d love to see more grab and go snacks. I’m starting my new job on Monday, and I don’t know how much time I’ll have to get something to eat. After being a student with a flexible schedule, it will be quite the change to work a 9-5. I’m a little worried about satisfying my afternoon hunger.

  91. Nichole says:

Easy, quick dinner recipes. I can never get enough! I don’t have children, but I am in grad school and I am too busy to think about food most of the time now.

    Like you on facebook!

  98. I’d like to see more sandwiches and veggie burger recipes. :)

  99. Jessica says:

I would love to see some hearty Crock-Pot recipes coming up for fall and winter. Admittedly, fall comes in August up here in Alaska, so sooner rather than later would be GRRRREAT. Thank you!

  101. Marianne says:

Hmmm…how about more recipes that don’t require any sort of functioning blending device? I know you love your Vita-Mix, but anything that requires blending makes me sad, because chances are I won’t get to try it out any time soon. Or just give us more delicious baked treats. Mmmm, baking.

PS – Already a fan on Facebook :)

  102. GF recipeas would be good – but it’s pretty easy to adapt most to be GF anyways!! I’d also love some ideas of how to make a meat-loving husband realize he won’t die if we have a few dinners a week without meat!

    Desserts!

  105. Katheryn says:

    Modre breakfast and lunchbox recipes?

    Thanks!

  106. Julie says:

More vegan ice cream recipes for ice cream maker? There are versions out there with rice/soy milk, sometimes tofu, sometimes coconut milk like yours, sometimes coconut cream, and I really could use the opinion of an expert in deliciousness for that.

  107. Jayna says:

I have no idea what other kind of recipes I would want. . . you already do so many-

I just really, really, really, really, really, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY (do you get the idea yet?) want to win a copy of your book!!!!!! ha ha!

  108. I’d love to see more gluten-free recipes, as well as some soy-free recipes! Really, I’d be happy with any new vegetable-centric recipe ideas– I can always use new ways to prepare the good stuff!

  111. Cindy says:

My daughter is starting kindergarten in the fall. I need ideas that are lunchbox friendly — i.e., that don’t require refrigeration and will keep for a good 4 hours at room temperature and can be made the night before or really quickly in the morning.

    Thanks!

P.S. I’m a friend of PATY on FB!

  112. Michelle says:

  117. Victoria says:

    Just liked you on FB!

  118. Wendy Heath says:

I want to see more savory slow-cooker type meals. This next semester of nursing school looks like it’s gonna try to kill me, so I need something I can throw in the slow cooker and have ready for my hubs and our roomie when we’re all home from work/school… plus, healthy and vegan, how can you lose? :-)

  119. Linda says:

I would love more gluten free recipes!

  120. Ooh erm, well we ALWAYS need more desserts! :) But really just keep doin what your doin!! :)

  121. And I ‘like’ you on facebook! :)

  125. IslanVeganWahine says:

I like you on Facebook, too!

  126. I would love some sugar-free and grain-free recipes… I need some ideas for high-protein meals but it’s hard to find creative ones beyond baked tofu, etc. Also, some sugar-free desserts would be amazing!!

  127. Bec says:

Oooh more cookie and baked treats recipes please!

  128. Rachel says:

I really enjoy the dinners that you post, especially the vegan values meals. As someone who lives on their own and works full time, I need simple dinners that I can either cook ahead of time, cook a large batch and freeze or cook quickly when I get home (usually late!) from work.

Don’t get too ‘normal’ – we’d miss the crazy! :D

  129. I would love to see more dessert recipeas ;)

  130. blossjoss says:

  134. Heather says:

I liked you on facebook a few days ago does that count?

I would love to see even more pealightful recipes that as usual don’t look or taste pealightful. I heart the book and would love an autographed copy and a pea pack. Have a great Friday.

P.S. Noah choose the sea salt chocolate chip cookies for his baking yesterday. He wanted to make the sugar cut out cookies but decided since everything looked so delicious he couldn’t wait 1-2 hours for the dough to chill :-)

  135. Marijke says:

Slow cooker recipeas would be great! I’m based in the UK and our summer has been non-existant… crack out the slow cooker for a nice hot meal in July? Why not?! I’m freezing my toes off in these flip flops!

  136. Barbara says:

Coming out of the lurking mode to first congratulate you on your book! I’ve been following your blog for a while (I think KERF led me here once upon a time) and I am so happy for you!

I was going to buy the book but then I though, maybe I could get lucky and win it? heh wishful thinking probably.

So this comment won’t be a total waste of space and time… I would really enjoy more lunch ideas. I know it’s supposed to be easy to throw together a salad or a wrap but I am constantly running out of ideas how to make a new and delicious flavour combination. You on the other hand seem to have quite a talent for it…

(psst… I’m from Europe and it wasn’t specified I couldn’t participate. But in case shipping is a problem I’ll be OK. Just wanted to give you a heads up.)

  137. Rachel says:

how about some recipeas involving pickles? i’ve been craving pickles lately…

  138. L. Marie says:

  210. Jennifer says:

I love your blog, so more of the same would be great!
But I *was* just thinking that I wish more vegan blogs would occasionally include no-frills recipes — ya know, recipes that don’t require any ingredients that must be acquired at the health store or that are something I had never heard of before I started reading blogs. This desire comes in part from being a poor (cheap?) grad student who doesn’t always want to go out and buy something I’ve only just heard of, but also because there are times I’d really like to share vegan recipes with my parents or other family members (who live in extremely rural areas with no health food stores around and who still don’t understand to what foods I’m referring when I say my diet largely consists of lentils, quinoa, cous cous, millet, amaranth, kale, etc.) but know that they’ll be so intimidated by “agar agar” or “hemp seeds” or heck, even “flax,” in a recipe that they’ll never make it. I know it can be hard to make vegan recipes that don’t use some lesser known ingredients, but an occasional recipe that’s super simple (besides salads or stir fries — although those are good too!) would be exciting to me. (Oh, and I don’t consider things like fake meat or dairy-free cream cheese *too* exotic, fwiw.)

  211. Michelle says:

What recipes do I want more of? Well, I love high protein content vegan recipes. Especially, for my hubby! Thank you for sharing your creativity and genius. I am so happy for you and the success you ae having…it isn’t surprising. BUT well deserved!

Alright lady – count me in. I want to write you a fabulous book review and I don’t want to wait for it to come out at the library. I almost wept tears of joy when I saw your book on the shelf at my grocery store! I didn’t want to buy it and risk someone new finding you. (A likely story! I just my copy autographed! And not by the librarian!)

When I bought your book on Tuesday (and read through it that night), the very next day I made your chocolate chip zucchini bread because I had 2 mega-zucchinis sitting in my fridge from my garden. Absolutely DELISH!! It was gone in less than 2 days, and nobody (including me) believes that it’s full of zucchini! I’d love to see more recipeas like that – ones that are delicious and taste like they’re bad for you, but they’re actually full of healthy, good-for-you ingredients!

I’m goingto buy your book on my lunch break! Lloyd was appalled when I told him i came out and I hadn’t gotten it yet! He said he thought I’d be flying to Oregon to get it signed. Are you taking visitors?! ;)

My husband and I just made the switch to vegetarian meals and your blog and now your book have been so helpful. I’d love to see more crock pot recipes since I’m a working wife and I love coming home to an already cooked meal.
Congratulations on your book and all the exciting things coming your way! Enjoy it :)

  306. Rocio says:

I am now following you on FB… why hadn’t I done this before? :)

  307. Cindy says:

Already a fan! I agree on more lunch ideas..tends to be the meal I skip or make a bad choice. :( Also, make ahead breakfast type things…meal in a muffin, bars, etc. Thanks!

  308. Kim says:

I would love to see some packable, kid friendly lunch ideas (main courses beyond a basic PBJ, and also packable snacks.) My daughter is about to start school this year so that would help me out a lot!

  309. I liked your facebook page!

  310. Brandi b says:

    I’m a fan on facebook

  311. Jessie says:

This is so exciting! I have been reading your blog for almost a year and it’s so wonderful to watch this book come to fruition. I always enjoy reading your blog and often catch myself laughing out loud, alone in my office. I had to close the browser on the story about the children’s cookbook because I couldn’t stop giggling, and I’m pretty sure my office mates think I’m a little off for always cackling at my computer screen. At any rate, I love your recipes for snacks and feel like I’m getting burned out on some of my usual snacks- it would be great to have some fresh ideas for new snack recipeas!!

  312. Ann says:

I want one of those pea packs! I second the idea on packable lunch ideas, although I know you have some good ones in the pea plans. Also, come Fall/Winter, freezer meals are always good. I’m telling you, come January when I need to start losing these baby pounds I have been delightfully gaining, I’m going on a pea plan!

  313. Dani says:

I’m a fan on facebook with my facebook page, Veggies Have A Heart!

  314. Judy says:

I’m already a fan on facebook. I’d love to see more dessert recipes, though!

  315. Sean Hile says:

I became a fan of yours on Facebook :) I am so excited to be following you even more!

  316. Lisa says:

I am a fan on facebook

  317. Well, since you asked, I would LOVE more of your creativity in the area of high vegetable and/or bean volume, no-added fat, and no or very little nut main courses and side dishes. Like the Meatless Muffins-they were wonderful-and I substituted water for the oil and I did not think they were missing anything. I mean, they were really, really great and fun and filling. Thanks for asking!

  318. Jessie says:

I also liked you on Facebook!

  319. Janet says:

    Love the wannabe recipeas :)

  320. I’m a fan on facebook :)

  321. Dani says:

I would love to see more snack recipes. I struggle with eating enough during the week. I rarely eat breakfast, and really should have a snack at 10 and 3 while I’m at work, but rarely do. When I do, it’s normally a prepackaged granola bar or pop tarts or something else that isn’t all that great for me, just because it’s easy to grab. If I had a fridge full of snacks that I made beforehand to grab and go, I’d be all set.

LOVE your book and your site. I’ve been a huge fan ever since I discovered it last year. Thanks for all you do!

  322. Em says:

I’m already a fan on facebook! :) Congratulations on your book, Mama Pea!! :) I can’t wait to read it and I’m so happy for you and your family!!!!!!

  323. i read the book cover to cover the night i got it and have next weeks meal plan ready to go!

mor recipes involving beans as the protein source (like those meatless meatloaf muffins…to die!)

    congrats!

  324. Hannah says:

ALl the recipeas you share are wonderful and I never have trouble making them!!! I would love teh see more dinner recipeas, dinner is always a tought one, their are only so many cans of beans and salads a vegetarian can eat :S

  325. Steph says:

quick and easy recipes please :)

  326. Stefanie says:

I “like” you on facebook. I would like to see more breakfast and lunch recipes.

  327. Jen G. says:

More tofu recipes! I love the tacos for so many reasons, but one of them is that I can fix the marinade the night before, press and marinade the tofu in the morning, then come home to a meal that is so easy to throw together. More marinades and similar recipes would be great!

  328. Kayla says:

I would like more recipeas that are delicious replacements for foods that non vegans always ask me about missing(i.e. – anything with cheeze!)!

  329. Does it count that I’m already a fan on FB?

  330. Jacqui says:

sounds like a crazy few weeks coming up… be sure to take time for you and your family! :)

I would love to see more crockpot recipes, and more gluten free recipes.

  331. Steph says:

    and i’m a fb fan:)

  332. Maxwell says:

    Hey Mama Pea!

I hope things don’t get too hectic for you! I just found your blog several days ago and have really been enjoying it so far. Your philosophy about food and your accomplishments are both something to aspire to.
That being said I would like you on Facebook or subscribe to you on Twitter, but I don’t have an account with either program. I really am a fan of your, I just can’t press a button to prove it :)

  333. My family loves all of your recipes that we have made – thank you so much! We would love more vegan burgers – our favorite is the Yukon Gold Potato and Basil Burgers. Mmmm Plus, I added you as a facebook friend – can’t wait to hear all your stories about your book touring. ^_^

  334. Nikki says:

    More “to-go” type recipes, please!

  335. Shawnna says:

I can never get enough dessert recipeas, I’m thinking of harvest and some delicious pie recipeas right now.

  336. Summer says:

I would love more sugar-free and flourless recipes!!!

  337. Christine says:

I have been dying to get my hands on your book. Keep up the good work, mama pea!

  338. Jesse says:

I would love to see more quick and easy one pot (frying pan, bowl, whatever…) wonders. I’m a big fan of your quick and delicious dinners. I would also like to see a best of post where you highlight all of your familie’s favorite recipes (maybe you already have one?).

  339. Yolanda says:

    Entree’s, such as veggie burgers.

  340. Patricia says:

How about a Thai panang recipe? I love this coconut milk curry and think it would go very well with tempeh or tofu.

  341. Monique Gagnon says:

I was just RAVING to someone about you, your family, your blog and your cookbook that has quickly jumped to the top of my book ‘wish list’!

  342. Emily S. says:

I would love to see more Mexican foods, or deserts !
I can’t wait to get this cookbook- I’m either winning it, or buying it :)

  343. Allie says:

I would love to see some more portable lunch recipeas. I pack my lunch everyday and I am getting tired of the same ol’ sandwich and salads.

  344. Emily S. says:

Also, I “liked” you on fb

  345. Christine says:

I’d like more crock pot easy-peasy recipeas!!

  346. Anne G. says:

The two book stores I checked at were out of your book! That’s good news for you, bad news for me! I will hopefully be able to find it tonight, but I would love to have a second book to give away to a friend (well, I’d keep the autographed copy, of course!).

I would love to see more pea-lighful recipes!

    • MamaPea says:

Anne, what stores specifically were out? I’d appreciate any info you could give me!

      • Anne G. says:

I checked the inventory through the computers available in the store and apparently these two closest two me didn’t have any:
Chapters – Kanata, Kanata (Ontario, Canada) (store I visited and checked shelves + inventory)
Chapters – Pinecrest Ottawa (Ontario, Canada)

However, according to the same list, the Coles did have some (Coles – Bayshore Shopping Centre).

Now that I think about it, perhaps it’s just a matter of Chapters VS Coles offering it? Or are they both supposed to have them?

  347. rebecca says:

well i just spent yesterday evening reading my new fave cookbook from cover to cover. but if i had an AUTOGRAPHED one, i could give mine to a friend….

  348. PAM says:

Anything that says sweet is great in my book..Even though I do not comment alot, I read your blog everyday. Thanks for making my day.

  349. Hope says:

I would like to see crockpot recipes :)

  350. Candy says:

Pasta! Homemade pasta! And a crunchy-crusted baguette. Love your stuff!

  351. Jess says:

The book looks great! Can’t wait to check it out. I’d love to see more veggie recipes (maybe some side dishes).

  352. Laura says:

I’d be interested in more dinner recipes (you already have lots…just a “keep ‘em coming!” message) perhaps with beans or lentils versus tofu and tempeh. My husband and I had your chickpeas and dumplings recipe for dinner in honor of book release day! :-)

  353. Stephanie says:

I am eager for all recipes you post. I am a new follower, so give me all you got!

  354. Carrie says:

I’m a vegan… with a fear of tofu… can you give me more recipes that use tofu in a way that isn’t just “tofu chunks” I love your blog, and I’m a fan on facebook now! Congrats on your new book!!

  355. Elizabeth says:

Sugar free and gluten free! :)

  356. rebecca says:

already a fan on fb. i would love to see more of pretty much anything from your kitchen. sorry. not super helpful.

  357. Stephanie says:

    I liked you on facebook!

  358. Cynthia says:

I would love more dessert recipes. I have a massive sweet tooth!

  359. I want to win!!!!! I want more savory recipeas!!!!

  360. I would love to see reci”peas” that are perfect for lunch at work!! Getting married in 4 weeks is really draining my bank account and I’m so tired of wasting my money on buying lunch when I know I can make easy, healthy meals at home and just bring them with me!

  361. I also like you on Facebook!

  362. My copy of your book arrived from Amazon yesterday, and I put down everything just to read through it. I have so many recipes I want to make now! I like all of the “recipeas” you make, but I especially like your vegan values series–easy, cheap and yummy. It gets me to try familiar ingredients in new ways.

  363. Roann says:

I am new to your website and love it. My husband and I are vegetarians but I am always looking for kid friendly dinners to serve my two children. I love your recipes and can’t wait to try some out!!!

  364. Jamie says:

I’m always a fan of recipes that will travel well in packed lunches!

  365. Tina. says:

Being a vegetarian (or, actually, what I like to call “veganesque,” as I eat vegan a lot) grad student with an omnivore husband (who, luckily, doesn’t mind just adding meat for himself to whatever it is we cook), I really appreciate you value meals. I also like things that don’t need cooking. Because being a student and a teacher means that, especially during the school year, there’s not that much time to do anything else but work, I’d like to see more of the recipes that don’t take much time to prepare and/or don’t call for too many ingredients.

Your blog is in my Google Reader (I’m also a FB fan), and there is rarely a morning when it fails to bring a smile on my face. Thank you for that! And for all you do.

  366. Liz says:

I’m going to second an above request for ethnic recipes – I live in SF where I have ready access to cheap, delicious, ethnic food all the time but I’d love to be able to make it at home!

  367. Gina says:

I was hoping you would ask. Since back to school is just around the corner I would love lunchbag friendly meals and snacks. I find it a real challenge to always pack lunches the kids will eat. There’s a lot of carrot sticks and apple slices being had but there has to be more to lunchboxes than that. To make it a little more challenging our school is peanut free. Please Mama Pea (or anyone else that has great ideas). I need help!

  368. Lauren S says:

I would love to see more of your budget friendly recipes, Everything you make looks amazing so I’ll take whatever you want to make.

  369. Lauren S says:

    I’m a facebook fan!

  370. I would love to see more meat-free “man”-friendly recipes for our loved ones who still don’t seem inspired by living with a veggie-lovin’ person. The hubbs will eat what I cook but he is still all about the meat… and I’m tired of cooking it. :)

  371. Am I a glutton for entering to win this after I already won a pea pack?
So be it. I want that book!!!

  372. “liking” you on facebook now!

  373. Liz says:

And I just liked you on Facebook!

  374. Kelsey says:

We love Mexican food so keep those recipes coming! We eat Tamale Pie at least once a week :)

  375. Abby says:

I’d love to see some healthy, easy crockpot recipes- I never seem to successfully use my crockpot, but I want to learn!

  376. Katherine says:

Would love more crockpot meals and casseroles- those seem to be the easiest way for me to cook vegan for my family who always look at a vegan meal like there is something missing.

  377. Kelsey says:

    And I’m a facebook fan!

  378. Rebecca says:

Maybe more “man-friendly” recipes? We aren’t vegetarian, but I’d like to try and incorporate more veg-friendly cooking into our lifestyle, and my husband feels there should be a meat-based protein with every dinner.

  379. Jenny says:

Congratulations on the book release, Mama Pea! Each post makes me laugh (sometimes cry) and keeps me inspired to try new things in the kitchen. I specifically love your suggestions for make-ahead meals that you can freeze or give away to others during times of need. I’m all for more of those recipes!

  380. Makenna says:

I always love the desert recipeas :) Maybe some for small batches, so I don’t have so much temptation around ALL the time!

  381. Jill says:

I’d like to see more breakfast recipes. I feel like I always eat the same thing and would love to add more of a variety to my week with my little girls.

  382. Rebecca says:

I also like you on Facebook!

  383. Makenna says:

I also “liked” you on facebook!

  384. jose says:

I’m so happy for you and your release good luck!!!!

I’m a fan of Peas and Thank You on facebook!

  386. Michelle says:

I’m craving some pasta recipes right now…and it’s not even 9am.

  387. Jenny says:

And I’m now a fan on fb!

  388. jose says:

oh and i am a facebook fan =)

  389. MamaPea,

This Teacher/Mama/WifePea needs quick and healthy meals!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that I am going back to work (Booooooooooooooooooooooooo), MonkeyPea will start Pre-K (Booooooooooooooooooooooooo) and play baseball (Yippee), and I am starting a doctorial program, we are in need of some serious help!!!! I dont know if I am crazy or ambitious to take on all of this, ALL while teaching a bunch of hormonal 7th graders, but I know with the help of MamaPea and your AMAZING recipes, ANYTHING is possible!

Did I mention that this school year I am taking on a school garden and going to have healthy cooking/lunch/snack ideads for my students during club time? I believe I live in the 5th most obese state in the US and Im hoping this will help my students make some much needed adjustments to their daily lives. If I win, I will wear the apron proudly in my biology class, use the mug for hot tea and share your cookbook with all 150 students and hope they get inspired like I did.

    Stephanie

  390. I vote for more dessert recipes – there can never be too many! :)

  391. Annie says:

I’ve loving the Vegan Values series. All the recipes I’ve tried have been wonderful! I would love to see more of those and perhaps a simple vegan cheesecake recipe without using Tofutti cream cheese? Congrats on the release of the book! I’m such a big fan!

  392. Kim says:

I am a fan on Facebook!

  393. Evan Thomas says:

You can never have too many desserts! Anything chocolate and peanut butter, and no-bake is always better.

  396. Evan Thomas says:

    I’m a facebook fan

  398. Marla says:

Oh my gosh- I really don’t know as I think your current recipes are all exactly what I want…. And it is perfectly rounded out with your book ( love love love it!) My favorite food is Indian- which is delicious and loaded with salt and butter- but the flavors are so magnificent.so- maybe an Asian tour? Be sure to get enough rest and eat your peas to stay healthy through these wonderfully crazy times :-)

  399. Mina says:

While I LOVE all your sweet recipeas, I could really use more quick, easy main dish type recipeas.

    MIna

  400. Mina says:

    And, I’m a facebook fan!

    Mina

  401. Julie says:

I love your little series you have going on about the food you can cook on the cheap. I think that would be really beneficial. I also like reci”peas” that don’t take a long time to cook (not that yours do by any means). I’m not a huge dessert person (I know, I know)– so anything that pertains to breakfast or lunch (since those are typically on the go). Soup, sandwiches, ethnic food-ie, 5 ingredients or less, etc.

CONGRATULATIONS on your busy weeks! I’m sure you’ll be pooped but well worth it! : )

  402. Kim says:

I am new to your blog and just ordered a copy of your book for my iPad. It won’t download until 8/1 so I am waiting ” not so patiently”. I would like to see any type of whole foods recipes that are quick to make since I have 3 kids and very little time. Thanks and congrats on the book!

  403. Annie says:

I’d love to see more lunch ideas!

  404. Kelly Edm says:

Congratulations on the book, Mama Pea! What a wonderful end to your summer. I would love to see more recipes that incorporate time – like 20 minute recipes, 30 minute recipes. The quickies – because no matter who you are, you like quickies. Meals. Quickie meals. :)

  405. Kelly L. says:

It never hurts to have more dough ball variations. You just can’t go wrong with cookie dough balls in any flavor. :)

  406. I like quick and easy meals for two, especially no-cook or quick-cook recipes. Amazing that I just spotlighted this book and video on a web page! To win a copy of the book would be awesome and then I could do a rave review!

  407. Tess says:

I’d like to see some more cake recipeas! Or cookie recipeas! Pretty much anything that satisfies my serious sweet tooth. :)

  418. Caroline says:

I would love to see more recipes with around 5 ingredients. Having just graduated college I don’ t have a fully stocked pantry and it gets expensive to buy ingredients to use them for only 1 recipe!

  419. bo says:

I love it when you re-do a certain national chain coffee shop’s baked goods. I have worked there as a vegan for a million years and drool over stuff that I will never have until you make it! I love you guys and I am so happy your are seeing such great success. Peas and Thank YOU!

  449. Paula says:

I would love more easy dessert recipes!

  450. Brooke says:

Congrats on the new book! For future recipes, I would love to see some seasonal recipes. And by seasonal, I mean that all of the ingredients need to be seasonal (or a stocked pantry item), not just the main ingredient. I just bought a vegan cookbook with seasonal recipes, but I would really be interested to see what you come up with. Your recipes are always awesome!

  451. Rachel says:

I would love to see more healthy dessert recipeas and recipeas that involve tempeh – apparently, I can’t figure out a perfect, man-friendly tempeh meal because my husband hasn’t been a fan so far. Help :)

Since I moved abroad to Amsterdam, it’s so hard to maintain vegetarian meals, nevertheless find some of those key ingredients. I’ve integrated meat into my life again but I think with your snazzy cookbook I’ll be much more inclined to go more veg! And maybe I can persuade my meat-eating partner to give it a go as well :)

Hey Mama Pea! Congrats! I could so easily be a vegan if my family had more lunch/dinner recipes available..my kids are teens and they are picky, so it has to be friendlies for them. I’d love to see some vegetarian/vegan crock pot meals (for fall/winter). Something that’s a “wannabe recipea” for the traditional meaty stews and roasts.

  545. Colleen says:

Well, believe it or not I’m growing tired of this Summer heat and longing for a crisp Fall day. I would love to see more casserole recipeas.
I already like you on FB, so that doesn’t count :)
I got my book yesterday and can’t wait to read it and try some new recipeas. I did read the beginning and was surprised to read that Pea Daddy’s name is Chris…I don’t know why but I thought maybe he was a Paul or a Steve, LOL.

  546. Stacey says:

Congrats!! I would like more main meal recipes without meat subsitutes (i.e. no tofu or tempeh). I’d also like a tutorial on ground flax seed. I used it once, as called for in a recipe, and it was HORRIBLE. With as many people that love it, I know I’m missing out but I can’t bring myself to try again. (p.s.–if I do win, may I have the book…please…no kids in my life, nor will there be, so the pea pack will be half wasted on me…)

  551. Valerie says:

  552. marie says:

    More protein-packed recipeas, please.

  553. Coley says:

I have have tried and loved many of your recipeas and have about 100 more tagged as “must trys”!! I guess I would like more lunch ideas. Or even dinners that are packable as lunches. 554. Ally says:

I have just recently become a fan of your blog and I am absolutely amazed at all that you do. Being a mother of 2 myself I cannot believe how you get your two adorable girls to eat all those veggies. I cannot get my 42 y.o. husband to eat all of his veggies. So I would like to see more meals that incorporate protein that I may get my husband to eat more veggies and less meat.

  567. Kit says:

I’d like to see more “satisfying to the omnivore husband” recipeas. I eat pretty healthfully, but I am dragging my husband kicking and screaming. Help on this front is desperately needed, because I am *so* sick of preparing two separate meals for us.

  568. I love all of your recipes. I love all the dips, dinners, and desserts. I really loved all of your meal planning posts (I printed them out and followed along!). I do always have a hard time trying to think of good meals or side dishes to bring to someone’s house that everyone will like – non-vegan/vegetarians and meat eaters alike!

  569. Nicole W. says:

I FB like Peas and Thank You!

  577. Nicole W. says:

I have just recently became a fan of your blog (love it) and I am absolutely amazed at all that you do. Being a mother of 2 myself I cannot believe how you get your two adorable girls to eat all those veggies. I cannot get my 42 y.o. husband to eat his veggies. He says he needs meat in his diet rather than the veggies because the meat fills him up and the veggies don’t. I would love to see more meals that incorporate protein so that I may get my husband to eat more veggies and less meat.

  578. Brittany says:

I would love some more quick work- week meals. Or crockpot meals! After working all day, I don’t like spending 2hours in the kitchen every night cooking and cleaning!

  579. I love ALL of your recipeas. I love the dips, dinners and desserts. I also really loved your Meal Planning Series – I printed them out and followed along! It would be very helpful to have some good meal ideas to bring to people’s houses that are crowd pleasers – vegan/vegetarian and meat eaters alike! Those pickle and pea drawings are making it into the MOMA for SURE. Your girls crack me up!

  580. More main dishes! I don’t bake a lot so I need some good meals that will sway the future hubs away from meat! He’s a stubborn one!

  583. kristin says:

ohh i am a fan on FB too :)

  584. Michelle says:

I would love to see recipes that are adaptable to a low-carb diet. I’m a type 2 diabetic, and it’s been really hard to keep my meals plant-based without shooting my blood sugars too high. I’ve had to eliminate grains and drastically cut back on legumes so that I can stay under 60 carbs per day and avoid going on medication. I tried Dr. Neal Barnard’s plan, but my blood sugars respond best to a low-carb diet that includes some animal products. More recipes including tofu, tempeh, vegetables, mushrooms, and sauces that can be adapted to low-sugar/low-carb would help me get out of my meal-planning rut.

  585. Kelly Michelle says:

Well I don’t have twitter so hopefully I have a shot here! I mean I’m getting the book anyways but a signed copy would be way cooler!

    • Kelly Michelle says:

More quick, easy, adaptable, and tasty dinner ideas for picky children! After the success of your Asian noodles with peanutty mmmmm sauce, I’m more inspired than ever to add in several tasty vegan meals per week to our dinner rotation!

  587. More recipes that are gluten free or easily adaptable to be gluten free! I cook most of my own food because it’s hard to find good gluten-free vegetarian options, so I’d love to see more of that on here!

  588. Tammy says:

How about some baby food recipies? I have a 2.5 yr old and a 2 week old, I made all of my 2.5 yr olds food but I always had a hard time with getting enough protein into her

  589. Emily C. says:

Packing school lunch ideas, it’s challenging and would love more ideas and recipes. School food is not healthy, so we will be packing our first grade daughters lunch daily. You could easily have an entire page dedicated to this topic. Keeping food warm other food cold, it’s an art I tell ya.

Sometimes, I have 10 minutes in the morning to assess what food we have and get it in a crockpot, or cut things up so they are ready to serve, before we are scattered in 20 directions! Reci-peas using the most basic of vegan ingredients………..ideas that I don’t have the time to think of!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your blog, your book, and the reci-peas you have already shared!

  631. Sweet Mama Pea – I’m so excited for you and this time in your family’s life! I’ll be sending some prayers for calm moments, for God-given endurance and for joy in the crazy moments. I think of the Elizabeth Elliot quote for living during intense times, “just do what’s next.” I think of that often during overwhelming days when I can’t see past what needs to be done immediately for the 100 things that need to be done in the future.

As for what I’d like to see? Just more of you being you!

  632. Jennifer says:

Simple lunch ideas would be great! I make lunches at 6 am for me and my husband and sometimes I get in a rut of what is fast and easy.

  649. ashleigh says:

  650. Mollie says:

As for recipes, I’d love to see more things that are man-friendly! If I have to hear ONE. MORE. TIME. that I eat like a rabbit (I don’t) or that the reason I’m hungry is because I don’t eat meat (it’s not. I’m just a fat kid at heart), I’m going to punch a very handsome boy square in the jaw.

I may have spent most of my day reading old posts while at work… oops! I am also trying to think who I should give your book to ask a gift. I cannot wait to tell more people about your blog and book!

  671. Jeri says:

I would love to see more recipeas using household items so we can just whip it up last minute with what we have!

I’d also like more recipeas made with naturally vegan foods-I have a hard time with the more processed vegan alternatives like vegan cream cheese, margarine, etc. Thanks Mama Pea!

  687. Ashley says:

I’d like to see more recipeas that can easily be frozen for future meals. I’d also like recipeas that use in-season produce… grocery store produce is so sad looking compared to the bounty of veggies I get from the farmers market.

  688. Heidi Nicole says:

I’d love to see more quick recipes that would make good lunches in the office…I think I’ll be heading back to work a whole 45 minutes away from home, no driving home for lunch!

    Or recipes with broccoli. Yum.

  689. Kathy says:

Hi Sarah. Congratulations on your new book. I remember when I saw my first book published, unfortunately, mine didn’t make it into the book stores. It is so exciting. And I just love your website. You have great information with tons of awesome looking recipes (which I have copied some off to try). I am not much of a cook presently – because I work long hours – but I am always looking for a new, easy, quick, delicious vegan recipe to try. Hubby is unfortunately a carnivore, so I always try to find recipes that he is willing to try and will enjoy. We are both trying to lose weight and try to eat low fat and healthy. Keep up all your hard work and I look forward to many delicious posts and recipes!!

  690. Robyn says:

I’d like to see more make-ahead recipes. Or more mexican. Or just whatever you feel like making because honestly every recipe I’ve made of yours has been so good. That’s why I’d love to win a copy of your book!!

I just became a fan on Facebook!

  694. Heidi Nicole says:

    I’ve liked you on FB.

  695. Amber says:

  698. Danielle says:

I would love to see a “World Tour” of sorts – Maybe some German focused, some Slovak focused, some Italian focused, (also whatever your family’s heritage is) – Add it to Pealightful Plans maybe? I know my grandmother would love me to cook her some Slovak pea-friendly food. :)

  699. Callie says:

I love simple dinner ideas and yummy desserts! :D

  700. Gidget Eats says:

Rarely cooking in a vegetarian or vegan style, I would like to see more vegetarian fast and easy dinners. I would like to cook one vegetarian meal a week but seem to lack ingredients or come up with the same boring dishes!

  701. Kim Simon says:

I would love to see more entree type recipes. I also love the new cheap meals you have been doing. Good luck with your craziness!

I have been a fan of yours on facebook for quite awhile!

  706. Marie says:

I would love to see more ideas for meals that can be packed for lunches for kids and adults. :) Thank you for the giveaway! ;) The BEST part is the autograph.

  707. Angela says:

I just bought some yellow (summer?) squash at the store to make for my daughter, but it would be great to have some ideas of what to do with it so I would actually eat it; I’m just not a fan of the mushy messy and slightly bitter flavor, but know I need to set an example for her… Otherwise I think u have my recipea needs covered, now if only you did voodoo and could make my hubby less picky… If it ain’t processed he ain’t eatin it.

  708. allison says:

    easy, quick dinners!

  709. Jill Mongene says:

Maybe that pickle was just extra juicy and not really pee-ing??

    - I am already a HUGE fan of you and the Peas on Facebook…so make sure to count that. My cookbook may arrive today and if so, I’ll be cooking all weekend from it!! YES!!

As for new recipeas – I would love to see more of them include nutritional values. I have guidelines to stay within – like no servings with more than 6g of sugar, only 50g of fat a day or less, and 25g of fiber a day or more. So, it would be lovely to see the nutritionals published on your blog – so I can pick and choose according to those standards.

Though I love the dough balls – like crazy – the are hard to fit in my guidelines so now I just have them for “treats” once in a while. (Getting old is no fun!! but I also don’t want to resemble that pickle at 43 either.)

    Jill

  710. in2insight says:

  716. Cait's Plate says:

Personally I’m a huge fan of your “burger” creations. I’m not sure if there are actually more varieties (variet-peas?) but if you have any up your sleeve I’d love to see ‘em! :)

Also – LOVE that picture of the girls in the pool with the umbrella. So cute.

  717. Simone says:

I would love to see more one dish meals!

  718. Kim says:

I’ve made lots of yummy dinners from the recipes on your blog and would love to see more quick and simple dinners. We all get home from work/daycare at 5 and we’re starving and want something healthy and quick (and the less dishes to wash- the better!).

  723. Olivia says:

I would love to see more quick & simple lunch reci-peas, please! Sandwiches and the like. Thanks!

  724. Everything you make always sounds so good! But perhaps more appetizers/snacks? I find most people (myself included) are lacking in good options in that department.

  725. Olivia says:

I am also a fan on Facebook!

  726. Claire N. says:

    And I “like” you!

  727. Beth Smith says:

    Thanks for asking!

  728. Ashley says:

Hello! I am a loyal reader to your blog (love it!) and a new vegan (day 29!) and would LOVE a copy of this book. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I would also enjoy seeing more Mexican recipes! Yummmmm.

  729. RH says:

Meat & dairy free recipes, and more raw food (not raw dessert) recipes.

  730. Those pickle/pea drawings are masterpieces! I definitely chuckled out loud at my desk when I read it.

I would definitely be more interested in more quick and filling lunch ideas to take to the office. I feel like I rerun all my lunches and I need something new!

Good Luck with all the madness going on right now for you!

  731. Kaitlyn says:

more cupcakes!!!! and i just went and liked Peas and Thank You on Facebook!

  732. Danielle says:

I love all of your recipes but I guess I’d like more quick recipes. To steal the idea from Rachael Ray, more 30-minute meals!

  733. Erin says:

I already like Peas and Thank You on fb!

  734. tweal says:

I love all your recipes that I’ve tried so far, but I have to say – sweets and desserts are definitely my favourite! I can’t say no to a good dip or hummus recipe too….

Good luck with your busy week – I hope it all goes smoothly and proves to be fun, not just hectic!

  735. LeaAnn Schulz says:

Congrats on the new book! Mine was waiting for me when I got home from work on the 26th. I read it front to back and that is saying a lot because I don’t usually “read” cookbooks. It is outstanding and I can’t wait to try all the recipes.

  736. Jessica says:

I would love more tofu recipeas of any kind. Now that I’ve gotten my family to eat tofu on several successful occasions, I need some more ideas to keep the ball rolling!

  737. tweal says:

Also, just ‘liked’ your page on FB! Hope I win!!

  738. I would love to see more high protein recipes –love the baked tofu-torial (“tofu love” I mean –got it bookmarked!). I lift some heavy weight and am always scrambling for vegan protein.

  739. I love your blog, and I would enjoy seeing more freezer friendly meals. I have my boyfriend over for dinner a lot, but I don’t like seeing food go to waste, so I would love to have options to pop it in the freezer, or make 2 dishes, one for now one for the freezer for later. Good luck with your craziness over the next few weeks :) At least its a good crazy, right!?

  740. Megan Q says:

I would lovvvvvvve to get this book! I will buy it even if I don’t win ;) I enjoy everything you make but I agree with someone up above somewhere that said maybe slow cooker recipeas?

  741. Stephanie Smith says:

Hi Mama Pea– it’s funny because before I found your blog (about a year ago now), I never cooked. I mean, never. But once I found your recipes and realized that they are delicious, easy and fun, I’ve been hooked ever since! As for recipes that I’d like to see more of, I think I’d have to choose more of the pealightful recipes. I try to be very healthy (even though I’d so much rather eat your Pea versions of granola bars and dough balls every meal of every day), so I think seeing more of the pealightful recipes would be my choice.

Congrats on all your success! I admire not only all that you’ve done through your blog but also how you raise your daughters and incorporate your faith into all that you do. :)

P.S. I “liked” Peas and Thank You on Facebook

  742. Heather H says:

Hello! I’d love to win a copy of your book! I’d love to see more crockpot or some pressure cooker recipes for those busy nights when its hard to get a meal on the table.

  743. Melissa says:

I’d love a copy of your book! For my family, we’d enjoy more easy, hearty meals with simple ingredients that you might already have stocked in a kitchen. Thanks!

  744. Heather H says:

I also liked you on facebook! :)

  745. April says:

I’d love to see more portable recipeas that I can make ahead and take for lunch at work during the week.

  746. Meg Ross says:

I would love to see more grain and vegetable recipes. I direct a chilld care center and have totally reworked their menus to be healthy and homemade, but getting the children to eat vegetables is still a challenge. They are interested in my meals because I am a herbivore, and I use my food as a teaching tool and to pique their interest in other things.

    Love Peas and Thank You!

  747. Erin says:

I’d like more recipes that you think meat-eaters would enjoy–my boyfriend is very reluctant to try any recipe that isn’t meat-based for dinners.

  748. Darina says:

I LOVE all your recipeas- so easy to make and so delicious!
We are trying to stay healthy, so I would love to see more of “pea-lightful” meal ideas – high protein, healthy fat, low carb.

  749. milehighmark says:

I have a feeling that crazy is an environment you thrive in Mama Pea. Umbrellas in swimming pools though?? That’s all kinds of crazy! ;-) Football season is coming back around soon – and in these parts it calls for lots of tasty eats. I would like to suggest some recipeas tailored to the football party gathering. You’ve hit plenty of home runs, and now it’s time for a touchdown!

  750. I’d love to see more healthy snack bar recipes, and (maybe this deserves a smack from Captain Obvious, but I’m a newbie cook that is still learning how to mix and match ingredients) more sauces, like Mmm sauce variations! :)

  751. Sabe says:

I would love to see more main dishes for dinner because I’m always looking for great recipes that are full of veggies yet have new flavors and are filling for me and a hungry boyfriend. I also saw that someone has commented up above about lunches that are easily packable, and I think that’s a great idea, as well! Oh, and I saw slow cookers mentioned in other comments, which is another great idea.

  752. Lara says:

YAY! I am really into SIMPLE recipes lately…the ones with just a few ingredients that i wouldn’t think to combine together. Like your Mmmmm sauce :)

  753. Betsy says:

Just became a fan on Facebook!

  754. As I already have a copy of the book, if I win, it would go to a friend :) Just sharing the love!

My husband is sort of a picky eater. He likes basic food, without too much going on, and is definitely a meat lover. So I’m looking for ways to go veg that will make him happy. So far he’s liked what I’ve made of yours, thankfully! Well, except for the quinoa zucchini lasagna. He didn’t love it, but I did!

  755. Carolyn says:

I love all of the recipeas, but I would love to see lots of one-pot, quick meals as I’m really busy and often end up going for the easiest thing around (I eat lots of hummus sandwiches)

  756. I’m already a follower on Facebook…does that count? ;)

  757. ce says:

I love your blogue and I think that your family stories are so cute! I would like to see more quick and easy dinner! I often lack imagination when it comes to make dinner… And with a ” if there’s nothing death in my plate you can’t call it dinner” boyfriend it’s sometimes hard to make something that he won’t complain about while keeping a good variety of meals.

Oh and slow cooker recipes would be very appreciated too!

    thank you!

  758. Betsy says:

I’d like some slow-cooker recipes, plase. Most of the ones I come across feature meat, so looking for something a bit healthier.

Would also like some easy, make-ahead breakfast or snack recipes. Thanks! And, congratulations on the book — looks like it is going to be a smash hit!

  759. Logan says:

I’ve only just discovered you this week so I can’t even tell you what else I’d like to see. I’m excited about trying some of what you’ve already provided, starting with your famous Mmm sauce. I’m headed to my Fresh Market right now to get the ingredients and I LOVE that I could email the recipe to myself as well as print it. I will be able to read the ingredients right off of my phone/email. Thanks!

Also, I did “like” your Facebook page earlier this week and have already responded, I think, to a couple of your posts!

  760. ce says:

and I’m now a fan of you on facebook!

  761. Keren says:

I love your recipeas!!! More sugar-free, please. And possibly some portable snack options??

  762. tracy says:

Congratulations!!!! And THANK YOU for doing the cookbook!!!!!

  763. Jessica G says:

More baking recipies Please!! I also like the slow cooker comment that I saw above too. : )

  764. Alison says:

Ok, I am looking for simple recipes that don’t look completely foreign to my picky family. So far, so good from you!! Also, your sweets and treats are fab, but now looking for some lower calorie, plant strong scrumptious meals for the family!

I loved this post. I don’t think i can say congratulations enough!!

I would love more salad recipes. I absolutely love salad, but struggle with making dressings that are both good for you, good for losing a bit of weight and delicious. If anyone can do it, Mama Pea can!

  766. amyt says:

MMMM I’m a huge sweet eater – more sweets please!!!

  767. Jenn says:

I want to see fast, easy breakfast recipes for busy working moms! My little Sedona Marie is three months and I just returned back to work. It is so HARD to find a breakfast that I can fit into about a ten minute window in the morning that I have to eat.

LOVE your blog. I just discovered it thanks to Kath and Angie =)))))

  768. I’d like to see more baked goods, namely scones and muffins! Oh, and more dough ball variations!

hi mama pea!! your blog has officially made me a veggie convert. it was the push i needed after hving trouble sticking to it for the past few years. I’m 24, newly living on my own, and would love a section of super simple recipes. or some sort of “check list” of all the essential foods and staples (and equipment) i need on hand at all times. living in the city makes frequent grocery shopping a pain, so i want to make sure i make the best of my once a week trips :) thank youuu!

  772. Katie says:

I’d like to see more Smoothie & Breakfast ideas!

  773. Sarah says:

Healthy, easy and quick recipes that I can make when I get home from work. And lots of desserts!! :)

  774. So excited for you and your cookbook! I love your recipes and can’t wait to try some of them in the cookbook! I have really liked your break down cost of vegetarian meals lately. My husband – a meat-eater – doesn’t like me buying expensive ingredients, but I keep reminding him that if we bought meat all the time, we would be spending MORE money than we do on our vegetarian meals. I would love to be able to continue to show him that eating vegetarian with “fancy” ingredients doesn’t have to be costly.

  775. bobbileigh says:

I always love your sweet recipeas and I would love to see some crock-pot recipeas as well.

I am a fan on facebook

  778. Janna says:

I would love more soy free recipes. I had to eliminate that from my diet recently. Love your blog, and look forward to your book whether I win one or purchase one.

  779. I’ve been a fan on FB for a few months and huge fan here for about a year. I will be perfectly honest and say that I was drawn first to the stories and humor of your life and you’ve become a role model for me as I approach the idea of having children. However, it took me a while to blur the lines between being a meat-eater and vegetarian cooking. I always assumed since I do eat meat, I have no need for plant only meals or recipes. Or worse, add meat to some outstanding vegan/veg recipes. Boy was I wrong. My husband and I have actually been cutting back on our meat consumption thanks to Jamie Oliver and found we like more meatless meals. Will I ever go full vegetarian or vegan? Who knows. But if anybody can show me the way, it’s the Pea family. I look forward to purchasing your book after the Grand Annual School Supply sale.( I’m a teacher in a low-income school, so I need to get supplies for my students first.) I can’t imagine a better welcome to the autumn season….a cup of tea and more Mama Pea.

As far as what kinds of recipes I would like to see…..things that have already been said. Slow cooker, easy to take for lunch/leftovers, less common grains such as wheatberries and amaranth. Really, just keep up what you’re already doing. :)

  785. Toby says:

I’m so anxious to get my hands on your cookbook that I’m not sure I’ll be able to stand to wait to see if I’ve won it here or elsewhere!! I really your recipeas will be the ones that win my husband over to more meatless meals.

  806. Sarah W says:

    I “Like”d you on Facebook!

I heard about you from Angela (on OSG) and I have fallen in love with your reci”peas” <—-(that is so cute and clever!)
I've already planned on making Chocolate Lava Cake for my birthday in a few weeks. I had actually been CRAVING Chocolate Lava Cake for a few weeks now and thinking I would never be able to have it again and then I found your recipea! I almost died and went to heaven. I love your ability to take delicious foods and adapt them to be vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free (and healthy!).

As for recipies I'd like to see more of, I would want more things that you think you can never eat again because they're bad for you (but of course, adapted so they aren't bad for you.) Like what you did with the Chocolate Lava Cake. It has pretty minimal and simple ingredients and I love that. I would like to see stuff like bread sticks, stuffed crust pizza, ice cream, fudge, and bark (ie peppermint and other flavors!).

You've done such a great job already, so keep up the AMAZING work and I look forward to everything you do in the future!

All your recipes look delicious and the ones I’ve tried (let’s hear ir for sloppy josephines) have certainly made me want more. (P.S. I’d also like to second (or third or fourth) the request for high protein and high fiber meals and lunches. That has always my biggest quest as a vegetarian and my hardest challenge. Thank you!)

  926. I’ve written about your book on my blog! I would love more breakfast recipes though. If I don’t win this giveaway I’m still planning on buying the book! You’re recipes are amazing! Thank you for all your hard work!!

  927. Jill Bishop says:

Congrats on the success of the book! I would love to win a copy. :)

  928. Courtney says:

I have a huge sweet tooth so I love seeing goodies!! :)

  929. megs says:

I’d like more recipeas that can be translated well to meals-for-one! I love the food you make but am totally dense when it comes to adjusting measurements that are not 1 cup or 1/2 cup.

Also, anything that can be frozen well would be divine!

    Congrats again on the launch!

  930. Courtney says:

    I like you on Facebook!

  931. megs says:

    I’m also a fan on Facebook! :)

Definitely quick ‘recipeas’ that I don’t need to turn on the stove or oven on for :)

  934. Just saw an article on Babble.com by you about how to get your kids to eat more veggies. I was so excited when I was directed to it via a Vital Juice e-mail. I was like, hey, I know who that is :-)

Everyone seems to be going crazy for your new book, which is no surprise. I’d love to win a copy. This is one of the best giveaways I’ve seen. Fingers crossed for me.

As for more recipes, I love everything you post.

Those pee pea (oops, I mean pickle, ha ha) pics remind me of something my son would draw. Too funny!
