Build Your Own Wacky Wednesday (VIDEO)

We got out the video camera this afternoon.  There was no script, no rehearsals, no second takes.  After all was said and done, I just couldn’t decide which video to post.

So today, the choice is yours.

Do you want a salad building post with tips on how to get your kids to eat more vegetables and to learn the “recipea” for the dressing that I put on every salad I eat?

Or do you want something that I’m not even sure Lulu can explain?

Or you could get really wacky and watch both.

The pressure’s on.

All you have to do is press play.

  1. kelsey says:

That bah bah pickle video is awesome! She’s so talented :)

  2. Ashley K says:

So…I went a little crazy and watched both. ;)

I loved Lulu’s video, she is adorable!

I am so impressed at Gigi and her love of veggies, and Lulu isn’t half bad either! I hope that whenever I have kids, their eating habits mimic your girls!

  3. Gigi’s laugh!!!!!! What a cutie. I think Lulu could film Bah Bah Pickle as a workout video :)

  4. How cute are you guys? I totally agree–giving kids some control over what they eat makes them much more willing to try, and eat, a wider variety of foods.

  5. I think all the spinach you’re slippin’ Lulu came out in the Bah Bah Pickle video — such energy! ;) Too cute.

  6. Maria says:

I watched both. Is that stalker-ish?

I am going to try the veggie tips on my Fiance. His typical salad consists of romaine, croutons, and ranch dressing. Heavy on the dressing, light on the romaine.

  7. oh boy, lulu is destined to be a runner. i can see it. :D

  8. Ashley says:

I hope bah bah pickle pickle goes viral. They are so adorable! I’m impressed. I wouldn’t eat half of what they were putting into their salads when I was their age. In fact I think my idea of a salad was a bowl of lettuce smothered in ranch dressing.

  9. bitt says:

    No pickles in Lulu’s salad?

Love the kids liking the veggies and precious Gigi scarfing down the chickpeas and spinach.

I think I will make some Mmm sauce for my next salad.

  10. Sarah says:

Bless Gigi for running to get the teriyaki sauce. Without her reminder, I would have had non-marinated flavorless tofu for tomorrow’s dinner. :)

  11. Too bad we don’t live near each other. . . I think our three year olds would have a blast together. They certainly seem to have similar dietary preferences. Mine actually shells her green beans- she heard the name and decided they needed to be shelled like edimame. Hey, at least she’s eating something green!

  12. kyla says:

Watch out Snooki, here comes Lulu Pea!

  13. Awww, soooo cute! Very smart, casual parenting method to introduce kids to a rainbow of veggies. I build my salads very similarly but i don’t have any kitchen salad buddies. Well, 4 cats but they aren’t into veggies, just catnip, lol. Maybe I could get my hubby into it in a similar fashion!

Mamapea, have you ever had coconut aminos?? It’s raw, vegan, and tastes just like soy sauce, only it has 65 percent less sodium! I love it!

  14. Stacie says:

Peas really are my favorite veggie so of course I had to watch both so I could count it as two servings!–herb salad at TJ’s? Must try this..didn’t know it existed. Bah Bah Pickle Pickle will be the next ringtone! How cute was that video?! Still love your “new” haircut–it looks great!

  15. I love the video installments. I love that you show a glimpse into the reality that is your world…kids, food, busy fast paced life and all…and thanks for the great dressing recipe.

And for the adorable-ness of your girls :)

  16. LOL, just watched bah bah pickle! So cute. I’ll probably have her tune stuck in my head now. Lulu has me craving pickles and cottage cheese. Oy.

  17. Deane says:

Pretty sure you should have titled your video “The Pea Chicks Eat Chick Peas”… :D I am so impressed with both of your wonderful little children. Especially Gigi reaching for the spinach and eating it raw! AWESOME. You and P. Daddy should be very proud of what you have done to get them involved with nutrition early! And Lulu needs to release a workout video entitled “Bah Bah Pickle Insanity”… She is wild.

  18. OH MY…LuLu’s video #2 is hilarious. I love “the show is over…” You have two adorable girls!

  19. Stephanie says:

Okay, I figured out how to improve my P&TY experience: more Wacky Wednesday videos.
Also, I was totally going to say that Gigi is my favourite because she loves her veggies so much (we can be, like, twinsies or something) but then I heard Lulu sing my favourite song and my opinion was weakened (or should I say my argument was weakened? Or my opinion was swayed, even though it didn’t change? Studying is frying my brain. Is that ironic? I can’t even tell. Too much thinking has taken away my ability to think properly). Then I felt bad because I was choosing favourites. Now I just feel weird, but what else is new?
I love hummus on my salads. I haven’t been using it on them recently, though, because what I thought was hummus at the caf was giving me tummy issues (TMI? I have no idea what is and isn’t appropriate in comments on blogs) and I was getting the same reaction to the mystery spread as I did when I had a soy latte from Starbucks with the whipped cream scraped off (btw, what’s up with that? If I’m asking for soy, I’m either lactose intolerant or health-conscious, so I obviously don’t want whipped cream. Is there really a need to specify?) and it smelt a bit like ranch dressing (which, btw, I’ve always hated, even when I was deep into my anti-vegan ways. Nope, not even non-vegan. Anti-vegan. I hate my previous self so much for being so uneducated. However I use this against people when they say they really like meat/think dairy is healthy/can’t live without cheese. I had a sticker that I wanted to put on my dad’s truck when mad cow disease was rampant a few years back that said, “I <3 Alberta Beef." Like I said, I hate my pre-gan self.) so I suspect it had dairy. Another thing that is really frustrating is that not only do they not have the ingredients listed, they don't even have the items themselves labeled, except for one thing called "spinach dip," but I think that's the most useless label ever. It's green, so there's a good chance that there's spinach in it. Now, what else is there? Sometimes they'll label other things as "Allergy Alert," but not for what they'd be labelled "Allergy Alert." Is it wheat? Dairy? Raw broccoli (so craziest thing ever, my friend is allergic to raw broccoli, but she's fine with it when it's cooked. I didn't realize that this was possible, but apparently it is.)? Anyways, the point of this whole paragraph (what, you didn't think there was one?) was that I've found a new way to make hummus a part of my bis in die salads, and it's more affordable than buying tubs at Caper's and I can adjust it to suit my tastes. After experimenting I found out that you can cook beans in a rice cooker! It's actually way easier than cooking them in a pot, too, and almost as easy as opening up a can of chickpeas.
Holy long comment. But, um, if you feel connected to something then you're more likely to share, so it's my way of saying I love the blog.
OH! And another way you could improve the experience: P&TY merch. Like maybe double finger rings with gold pea pods. :)

  20. Emilia says:

Haha- love both videos equally! What a cute fam you have and love how genuine and unscripted you all are :) Yay for massive salad beasts!

  21. Amber K says:

You all are adorable. Loved the salad tips and gotta love bah bah pickle.

  22. Lindsay says:

awesome post Mama Pea! Love the What I Ate Wednesday videos! Keep them coming for sure. Your kids are darling :)
Also I LOVE that I learned to peel chic peas from you! I’ve never tried that and I’ll definitely do it next time I make hummus. Thanks so much :)

  23. Mary says:

oh gosh, I was gripping my keyboard so hard when I saw Gigi was about to pour soy sauce instead of teriyaki! (I know my high-sodium sauces ;) ) I love her laugh. & I just love Lulu period. More videos (of every kind) are definitely a good idea!

  24. s says:

omg haha on both :) and i feel like i finally understand bah bah pickle now. sort of.

  25. Audrey says:

That was too cute! They just melt my heart. I love how Lulu introduces herself as “Lulu…Pea”. Gigi is hardcore–munching on that spinach like chips!

Thank you for the videos. They were so much fun to watch and your supper sounds DELICIOUS!

  26. love your videos!
lulu is tooo funny and cute! if my kids (one day) loved veggies half as much as gigi and lulu, i will be one proud mama!

  27. Emily says:

My favorite part was when Lulu said, “The show is ovvvahhh.” It was totally in a Jersey accent.

  28. Haha, that video of Lulu is soooo cute!! Seriously, she’s so funny! You should have your own vegan cooking show!

  29. Sarah U. says:

Your girls are awesome. My mom had the same approach pretty much as you. She put a pretty healthy dinner on the table and never made a single remark about what to eat or how much to eat. There were no food struggles because it was never an issue.

And can Lulu release Bah Bah Pickle in mp3 format please. I’d like to add it to my GO LIST and workout to it ;)

  30. Sara says:

Great videos! As usual, the girls are super cute. Love that they love their vegetables. My seven-year-old niece was always picky like Lulu, but she’s been a lot better about trying things over the last year. She’s always liked vegetables, though. My almost three-year-old niece will try almost anything! She’s a lot less picky. I always think it’s funny when people say that kids don’t like vegetables. We always did, my nieces and nephews all do, your kids do…give kids a little credit!

  31. Rachel says:

love it! i’m always stuck when i make salads haha

yesterday i had a little idea and wondered if you’d ever consider a recipe for linzer tarts? those flower shaped cookies with jelly in the middle,

  32. Shelby says:

    “I’m LuLu Pea!” hahaha <3 it! :)

  33. Cait says:

What a cute video.. love seeing your girls and their love of the kitchen. Like mother like daughter!

  34. Looks like Lulue was drinking the pickle juice again.

  35. Lauren says:

Oh my gosh, you’re kids are too cute! I know I say this all the time, but every time you do a vlog I just get more and more in awe of how adorable they are! :)

  36. The show is overrrrr — Love it!!!

PS. Do your kids ever get confused that their last name isn’t actually pea?? :)

  37. lindsay says:

the best part of the whole video….the adorable laughs. Priceless!

  38. Kelsey says:

oh my goodness these are both adorable!! I love how knowledgeable and into veggies they are. :) Go pea girls! And bah bah pickle…just darling.

  39. Sue says:

Of course I watched both videos! I obviously can’t get enough of the peas. ;)
It’s so great that your little ones like veggies and greens already! I probably wouldn’t have even touched such a salad when I was around their age, but I don’t think that I was offered salad that often anyway. I believe that kids mimic their parents’ behavior a lot, so if they see mom and dad feast on veggies, sooner or later they will come to like them, too. Too bad my parents hated vegetables, fruit, and greens, so it took me a while to get to like them.

  40. Rebecca says:

“I love chickpeas!” That just made my day! ;)
Bah Bah Pickle is fueled by chickpeas.

  41. Mary Beth says:

Don’t even have to say how much I love this. You guys feel like family :)
Did I tell you that ever since I first heard Bah Bah Pickle I was craving those little baby pickles…gherkins. I bought some and devoured them, thanks to Lu.

Here’s a question for you: Do you guys ever fight/argue/have time outs?

    • MamaPea says:

Oh my. Yes, we do. We had naughty corner time last night for getting up from the table one too many times during dinner to sing Bah Bah Pickle and run around. I’m not kidding.

  42. Oh my gosh, I love how Lulu get slower… and slower… and slower… until she stops. So funny.

  43. I love wacky Wednesdays! Of course I had to watch them both. :)

  44. Barbara says:

oh i loved them both!! bah bah pickle pickle is a classic. lol. does lulu get to enjoy a pickle daily? i sure hope so;-). what is gigi’s equivalent to a pickle? what does she love as much as lulu loves pickles?

  45. Ami says:

lol Love the videos!! I love tips on how to get kids to eat more veggies! My son is only 8 months old, but I already foresee some battles in my future… he has a very picky daddy AND already refuses to eat half the veggie purees I make him :s. I had such high hopes that he would take after his veggie loving mama….

  46. Haha Bah Bah Pickle cracks me up every time!

  47. Hayley says:

At first I thought you were seriously going to make us choose between one video. How could anyone not watch both?! Showing us how you make your salads? Good. Providing tips on how to get kids to eat more veggies? Awesome. Watching Lulu run around the living room singing Bah Bah Pickle? The best. Of course I watched both! :)

I didn’t know about the TJ herbed salad mix either…cilantro is my absolute favorite so I need to check this stuff out.

    Making your mmmmm sauce today!

  48. omg that last video was too funny!! Your kids are so precious :D

  49. Anne says:

    It’s a love love !!!

  50. I hope my kiddies like veggies as much as your girls do when I eventually have some.. and I hope they’re just as cute too! :)

  51. brandi says:

“this show is over” – love it! :)

I watched both. it’s awesome that they love so many veggies already!

  52. Emily Malone says:

Omg the teriyaki sauce. I hope and pray that my 5 year old digs through the fridge to find things like that. Classic!

  53. From one mama to another, I noticed that you didn’t get to make your salad. :) Hope you got to eat something after the cameras stopped rolling!

My little guy (who calls chickpeas ‘yum yums’) was sitting on my lap as we watched these. He asked “are those girls nice or mean. Would they share their toys with me?” I assured him they would if he would bring pickles to the playdate.

  54. i love gigi’s infectious laugh in lulu’s song & dance!

  55. Great way to get the girls involved! Salads are great. If they love chick peas so much, try buying them dried and cooking in the crock pot. You get lots and they’re cheaper. No added anything from the can, either. I recently found that most dried beans have the instructions on the bag. Just be careful with the cooking time. I think crock pots vary in their cooking temps sort of like microwaves. The bags usually say 10 hours on low. Seven hours on high works perfectly for me. Give it a try. Most beans work great that way. I’ve tried black beans and great northern also. You’ve got them ready in the fridge and can use them in SO many ways! Enjoy!

    • MamaPea says:

Thank you for the suggestion! I’m always timid about cooking my own beans, but I definitely could use a big old pot of chickpeas with these girls around.

  56. Kristy says:

Your girls are just so adorable. When LuLu said, “Just one more!” I almost died!

  57. Katie says:

Love these videos! Thanks for the great tips on how to get the little ones to eat their veggies I am going home to cut up some veggies and give my little man a bowl to make his own salad! I loved LuLu’s video also… I miss my Tyler being that young… those sweet and innocent voices!

I noticed in another post GiGi was reading a pretty hefty book… VERY IMPRESSIVE! can you share some tips for what you do at home with the girls as far as education goes? We are working with our son (5) with reading he is doing great but I am always open to suggestions to help him along.

Thanks for the smiles this morning!

  58. Emily says:

I never thought I could love a family so much that I’ve never met before. Creepy? yes. Justified? Yes

  59. Your kids are too cute. But I’m sure you already knew that!

  60. RhodeyGirl says:

No offense but bah bah pickle BLOWS your video out of the water!!! :) Lulu is SO cute!!!!

  61. Shirley Lewis says:

I went to watch your video and out of the corner of my eye I saw your Denny’s ad on your page for their celebration of 7 bacon dishes. But I heart Lulu!

  62. Annie says:

Adorable! Now I need to go pick up some more veggies to make an epic salad for dinner. :)

  63. Monica says:

I love the video on getting kids to eat more veggies. My husband and I are preparing for our first baby and we had a discussion recently about how to lead by example in our house, and I love the idea of just bringing the kids in the kitchen to let them make decisions about the healthy foods they want to eat. I suggested when teaching colors that we use produce instead of flashcards, haha – I think my husband now thinks I am a major dork. ;)

And LuLu’s video is wonderful, I am thinking I can repurpose that for a workout tip video this morning.

    • MamaPea says:

I actually think the color idea is a good one! Another thing we do is go the grocery store and play “Name that Veggie!” I’ll pick really obscure vegetables and have them name them, and half the time we end up buying them!

  64. I loved the build your salad video, but my 2 year old is partial to Bah Bah Pickle. In fact right now she is begging me to stop typing so she can watch it again. :-)

  65. Susan G says:

Love the videos! I will have to have my girls help more in the kitchen – not only do they eat better, but such precious memories are created.

I am pleased that my 8 year old picked “veggie steak” over hot dogs for dinner last night.

  66. Pryce is my “picky eater”. I was peeling chickpeas yesterday and he wanted to eat one so he popped it in his mouth, chewed it, and said, “I don’t yike dis”. Of course he liked the chickpeas when he ate some chocolate covered cherry dessert hummus.
I know I just need to keep trying and one-day he’ll like all the foods he turns his nose up at now. Jadon was the same way. But, sadly, neither of my kids will go near a pickle. :-( Oh well–that leaves more for me!

  67. linda says:

Those videos were a wonderful start to my day, especially Lulu’s.

  68. Nikki T says:

I went totally crazy and watching both videos!!
I was totally like Gigi as a kid…veggie lover then, and still am now!
My little sister was the pickle lover of the family!

  69. I’ve definitely found that the more my son participates, the more he eats. GREAT advice.

Bah bah pickle reminds me so much of J-man when he was 3! I miss that stage and look forward to my little one getting there. Silliness abounds!

  70. Oh my gosh. Bah bah pickle just made my morning. There’s a German beer hall here that serves huge pickles. I went there last weekend and got one, and thought of Lulu as I was eating it. Is it too early to start planning her 21st birthday party?

  71. Carrie says:

When is the next audition for The Next Food Network Star???
You would be perfect for a vegan cooking show!

  72. G says:

You are such a wonderful mom. This is exactly how I want to raise my children one day (in like…. at least 8 years haha). I think it’s so great that you aren’t pushy with Lulu and that you embrace everybody’s likes and dislikes. It’s so refreshing! My favourite part : “Save some chickpeas for Daddy!” (Seriously, how often to hear that being said to kids!?)
Keep up the amazing work – you can be so proud of your beautiful family!

  73. HAHAHAHA! Your girls are too cute! Can I come for a play date?

My 27-yr-old boyfriend still goes with the Lulu style salads… maybe by using your methods I can get him to a Gigi style salad by the time he’s 30.

  74. My favorite part was how you are totally telling them how you get them to eat more veggies. Right in front of them. No trickery at all — awesome. :)
Also I loved how Lulu introduced herself! “I’m Lulu Pea” hahahaha

  75. Jamie says:

I love the build your own salad idea. I am going to try this with my son very soon! I think his salad would mostly consist of lettuce and ranch dressing, but at least he would be happy about it!

  76. I love both videos, but the bah bah pickle song never fails to crack me up! Thanks for the videos

  77. If your sweet girls don’t make a woman want to be a mom, I don’t know what will!! They are adorable. Your family is a blessing! You are a blessing! :)

  78. Tulika says:

I’m going to have Bah Bah Pickle stuck in my head alllll day now!!!

I think it is AWESOME that Gigi loves her veggies! I hope someday my future kids love veggies as much as I do. :)

  79. I love Gigi patting Lulu’s hair in the first video! haha. And hang on to that second video, you are going to want it for Lulu’s wedding….high school graduation…prom….. :)

  80. Stephanie says:

Hilarious! I watched both…and then I watched Lulu again lol. I love how she winds down like a toy.

  81. Amy says:

Wow, what a great idea with the salads! I will have to keep this in mind for my future children. I love how you sneak in spinach in Lulu’s smoothies as well, I occasionally do that with my fiancé’s smoothies. It’s so good for you and you can’t even taste it!

  82. Katie says:

I just think you seriously ROCK! U are supermom and super healthy pea!

I could see you having your own show one day, I think it would be awesome! Hey you never know! U have so many great tips and recipes to help people lead a healthier lifestyle! Im just so impressed with you always !

LOVE lulu and the pickle song video, lol! She is so funny! I was tired watching her run around in circles!!

    Loved the videos!!!!! xoxo <3

  83. Lulu’s video is exactly why I love kids! :) What a cutie!

  84. Haha, that’s awesome! I love getting my son involved. I usually keep saying no while I’m cutting things up and getting stuff ready and then as soon as I say go for it he goes crazy, LOL. It must be because I’m saying no. Rebellious little toddler. Anyhoo, my son also has his own version of Bah Bah Pickle after watching Lulu last time. Except most of the time it becomes Pickle Blah Blah. Haha. It’s hilarious.

  85. Hahaha that video of Lulu is adorable. You should save all the videos you film and show them at her wedding. I’m sure she’d love that :-)

Great idea of letting the girls create their own salad. I hope to do that when I have kids someday!

  86. Emily says:

What a great variety of entertainment from the Peas! Kids are so cool (especially when they’ve got such a cool mom!). Next up: autotune the Pickle?

  87. Michaela says:

    Hi

I love this video, I have little girl and she loves green juice green smoothie, but she does not have all teeth to chew salad properly:-) but she has green in liquid form. I give you tip on cooking chick peas. I soak mine for 24 hours change water after 12 hours and then it takes only 30 minutes to cook.Do not use soak water for cooking. For me can chickpeas is too salty, so I cook my own and al legumes too, but always soak for 24 hours, so the cooking time is much less and also very good easy for digestion

  88. Your girls crack me up! Thanks for sharing videos to get me out of my afternoon slump. And clearly you’re doing a great job exposing your kids to the best kinds of foods, Mama Pea. Most kids don’t venture beyond fish sticks and fries and your girls are over there asking for chickpeas. Love it!

    Nina @ SLO Foodie

  89. I watched both, of course!

    Lulu Pea…hahahaha!!!! Darling.

  90. Laura says:

Have you guys seen the show “Minute to Win It”? It’s a game show that features games that you have to complete in one minute just like the oreo down the face one that you posted! My boyfriend and I love to watch it together and we’re planning on recreating some of the challenges :D Perhaps you should audition?

  91. Green Shushi says:

oh my gosh–lulu was too cute, sitting there shelling her peas! ah! adorable…

  92. Lauren says:

HAHAHA that “Bah Bah Pickle” video is priceless. I can’t believe how on board Gigi is with veggies. Good for her… and you!

  93. I just had a moment to sit down and watch video #1. W O W !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Genius. I feel like a dumb mommy. I am forever indebted to you. From this moment on, I am going to have my kids fill up their own salad bowls at dinner time. And it doesn’t hurt that most of the foods you featured are actually convenience items (which will TOTALLY come in handy for me as the next 12 weeks of my life will be sans kitchen!). I’m serious not joking, I’m kicking myself and beating myself over the head right now!

  94. Ilane says:

Mama pea, you rock!! I loved the salad video!!! Congratulations. I don’t have kids yet, but I sure hope to follow some of your steps and bring the children to the kitchen to help.

I was wondering if you could briefly talk about your routine. I hear a LOT of moms saying they don’t have time for anything even if they are stay-at-home moms. Any tips?

Thanks and have a great evening!

    • MamaPea says:

I’d answer that question, but I don’t have time. ;)

Really it is a time crunch most days to get everything in. I think this would be a great post topic!

  95. Heather says:

These made me so happy to watch. :)
I hope my future kids are at least half as adorable as yours.

  96. Lana says:

I loved that Gigi wanted teriyaki sauce! lol! I don’t think I even new what that was at her age. I love how you get the kids involved, because your right, it’s always more fun to pick and choose what you want. Ownership is key, whether your 5 or 55!

  97. Woo hoo, thanks for the two-fer!

By the way, Lulu has the right idea–from now on, when I leave the office at 5pm, I shall walk out saying “the show is o-verrrrrrrrrr!”

  98. Melissa says:

Your kids are adorable!! I love your salad ideas too. Thanks for sharing!

  99. Bonnie says:

My boys loved the Bah Bah Pickle video! They were cracking up and now I think it will be a new addition to our dance parties. I can’t wait for that. I also can wait to hunt down a bottle of that coconut aminos!

  100. hippierunner says:

These videos made me smile! Thank you for that! :D I love the way the girls are so enthusiastic about their healthy food! Way inspiring! I bet that trick will work with my little brother!

  101. Sarah Anne says:

I LOVE bah bah pickle! I’m not sure I could run around that many times though without making a way bigger jerk of myself. It’s like the old school “Spin around with your forehead on a bat” game.

    Go lulu!

  102. Sasha says:

Is it too whacky that I watched both, starting with Lulu’s? And then had to watched her again…twice?
And twice again today? I sound creepy, don’t I? But I swear it puts a huge smile on my face, regardless of what mood I was in prior to watching it.
    Go, pickle!
    Stir it. Yeah. Stir it!!

  103. dana says:

So cute! Do you ever make your own pickles? Every time you mention Lulu and her pickles, I run to the fridge and grab a baby one. I want to make my own, and I would be so grateful to see you do it first :)

  104. Love pickles! Great videos and it’s really so great to see you involve the kids with healthy eating. Fun times.

  105. Sue says:

Tell Lulu, I just had to do the bah-bah-pickle dance….and I don’t even like pickles!….but I love the bah-bah-pickle dance.

    Fun videos….
    Sue in Ohio

  106. steph says:

I want to be a guest on Bah Bah Pickle Pickle.
looks like a good time to me!

  107. Marisa says:

Omg!!! Your family is flippin adorable!! Thanks for always helping me smile :)

  108. “I LOVE CHICKPEEEEEAAS!”

  109. Mandy says:

I am the least domestic and most cynical person in the world. And those videos melted my cold, black heart.

  110. Christine says:

I sound like my grandma when I say, those girls are as cute as BUTTONS!!! Gah!!! Adorable!

I almost didn’t watch the build your salad video because I THOUGHT I knew how to build a salad! Thank goodness I watched…it has NEVER occurred to me to mix up an herb mix with my spinach…and throw in some crunchy cabbage to boot! You are genius!!!

  111. this was worth the wait! so glad i didn’t mark this gem as read.

  112. It is so great to see how much independence you give the girls when it comes to meal options and serving themselves. I don’t have any children myself, but I remember how it was growing up when I was just “given” my food whether I wanted it or not…and most of the time it was not! If I ever decide to have kids, I want to help them try new things without feeling pressured like I’m shoving it down their throats!

And of course, I HAD to watch the other video too! Encore to Bah Bah Pickle? I think so! Lulu is such a little comedienne!

Hi Sarah! I’m late to the party but just wanted to say that I loved the first video. Getting Sophie to eat healthy when she gets older (as in able to eat more than just baby food) is something I think about ALL the time. I really hope that I can avoid a picky eater. I’ve always planned to make sure to cook with her. It’s never too early to start and as soon as she’s old enough i’ll get her as involved as I can. Hopefully that will help her be more open to eating healthy foods.
