If Pictures Could Talk
I wish it would stop raining…or at least that it would rain pickles.
I wish Mom had bought sleeves. Seriously, woman, why the vest? Your torso was cold but your arms were burning up?
Gigi may have signed up for soccer, but I didn’t sign up for this.
Why were all the other numbers afraid of “7?” Because 7 8 9.
Pink socks will make you, jump jump.
Hey, I have a pink ball at home, if you want to trade that boring grey one…
Pea aggressive…PE-EE agressive
I don’t care what Tim Gunn says, if I’m being true to my design aesthetic, I’d take at least four inches off of these shorts.
I’m IN!
Free kick? Is that anything like a grand jete?
Sticking my tongue out totally ensures I’m going to get that ball. Or that I’ll get to use Mom’s cherry Chapstick after the game.
I’m supposed to kick it in here, right?
GOOOOOOOOOOOO…..
…OOOOOAAAAA…..
…AAALLLLLLLLLLLL!
So we’re good? I can go?
All in a day’s work. Wait, who’s that lady wearing a vest? Seriously, Mom, what’s up with that?!?

Gigi is so cute! Love that she’s dressed in pink, doing her own thing. Awesome!
Is Lulu wearing a Roots sweatshirt?
Nope, it’s Roxy. She’s G, but she’s not that G.
I was wondering, since I believe Roots is only in Canada. Roots has such cute clothes!
“Nope, it’s Roxy. She’s G, but she’s not that G.”
I almost spit my overnight pumpkin oats all over the monitor. Thanks for the laugh!!!!
LMAO
Whoa. Gigi looks like a natural and oh.so.cute. Hilarious photo of Lulu, hahaha. I love vests!! I have a bunch of them. Vests just work in Colorado. If I tried to explain it, I’m sure it would sound ridiculous. Come visit, and you’ll see what I mean
I wore the same socks as Gigi today
I want a better view of you in the vest.
GOOOO Gigi! Kid’s got game! You should start calling her Pea-a Hamm
CUTEST POST EVER!!! so glad you have her playing soccer!!! My boyfriend’s sport, and def. what I want to put my future kids in!!
Gosh you crack me up Mama Pea! You must have your hubby in stitches all the day long…I love coming here for some comic relief. Laughing with you of course
Ballet, soccer, swimming, helping in the kitchen… Gigi’s a regular renaissance woman! Adorable action shots.
You can even turn a soccer game into a page turner. Best soccer pictures I’ve ever seen.
)
I love that Lulu looks like she’s sleeping in the chair. And the Tim Gunn reference is priceless. Awesome girls just like their momma
Good job on the goal!
And what’s wrong with vests? Especially of the fleece variety? I own…a few. That I only wear in the rink. Yeah. That’s it.
Pickles! That picture of Lulu at the top was outrageously cute. Love it!
I love this post…had me laughing and smiling the whole time! Please do more like this..
WAY TO GO GIGI on the goooooooaaaaaaal!!!!! She’s a natural. I want to see this vest..
Reading your blog is the first thing I do every morning and you never fail to be amazing, Mama Pea
This sounds silly, but what kind of headbands do you buy for the girls? Gigi’s didn’t move once in all those pictures and I can’t find any that don’t slide back!
Thanks Jessica! The headbands are actually just the Goody ones from Target. They slip sometimes, but we use a lot of hair product, so maybe they just stick to that?
Yay for Gigi scoring a goal!
Hahaha, awwww they are too cute!
I remember playing soccer when I was their age. Too fun!
hahaha this post cracked me up and it is so cute!
Woohoo Gigi!!! That is honestly so cute!
How’s Rachael doing?
I wanted to tell you all but couldn’t interrupt the flow of the post
I went and saw her on Saturday. There were more than a few tears. She’s in the cardiac unit now instead of ICU, and other than being tired, she seemed like her old self! It was so fun to tell her about Gigi’s soccer game and to tell her about all of your prayers and support. She was so touched. There is still no clear answer on why this happened or her long term prognosis (since her heart suffered significant damage). But if she continues to progress, she’ll likely go home this week. We were with her family at church yesterday, and let’s just say there was not a dry eye in the house. So very much to give thanks for.
Hey, it’s the first time I comment on here even though I’ve been reading for a while
Two things to say: Your kids are ADORABLE! Seriously, but it’s not like you haven’t heard that all before
And also, I made your chocolate chip banana millet muffins last week and froze some. They were seriously fantastic! I’m bringing one to school with me today. Fresh from the freezer!
Have a nice day,
-Nicole
Thanks for the comment, Nicole! I forgot about how delicious those muffins were. I must make more!
Those pictures are priceless:)
I am kind of jealous of your rain- I can’t wait to wear my new wellies!
hahahahaha. “Pea aggressive…PE-EE agressive.” First LOL of the day.
yay gigi, great goal!!! mama pea, are you the quiet mom or the mom who runs down the field w/u gigi, cheering all the way? i pray the latter. lol.
Kind of a combination. It’s hard to run with your hood up and holding a huge umbrella.
oh my gosh, cracking up! that series with lulu is priceless!
I just do not know what to say. Your blog and your kiddos make me melt into a buttery pool of female hormonal goo with all my “awwwwww, SO CUTE!”s. I LOVE your blog. You kids are gorgeous, your food is gorgeous. Can’t wait to buy your book. Thanks for all the stories =)
Love it, Monique! I hope that is a Earth Balance pool of goo and not actually butter…
Congrats to Gigi for what I assume is her first goal?!?!?!?!?! Either way, what an awesome moment!
And P.S. I wear vests all the time. They’re hot.
Love!! So many great pics
I totally remember my first goal. I was about Gigi’s age and it was sooo exciting!
LOL I said I needed a laugh and you totally delivered. Love it.
Love that she’s rocking all that pink! Black is so last season…
Laura
cute soccer pics!!! reminds me of a story my mom always tells about my older sister…….she was practicing at soccer for a few weeks and then went to her first game and asked “why are the girls in the other color shirts here?”
Aw congrats Gigi, good job on the goal! How cute is she?! And I love that picture of Lulu, so sweet
Loved, loved, loved this post. Congrats to Gigi for scoring a goal! This post made my morning – thank you!!
I love that Gigi can be feminine without losing her competitive edge.
Little-kid sports are the cutest!
These pictures make me want to have kids- IMMEDIATELY!! Adorable as always Mama Pea! (and great job with the photos)
This. Steals. My. Heart! =) We are there spring league…though R says it’s even colder than fall!
Adorable!
I just suffered 3 soccer games on Saturday as well as a hockey game. The things we do for our kids!!
Gigi is the cutest and good on her for the goal. Kinda makes standing out in the rain worth it. *kinda* LOL
Hahahaha! Awesome!
I love that I’m not the only soccer mom who wears vests. I have a few of them and only seem to wear them at soccer games. It’s not very cold here in Northern California, so I don’t get to wear them much, but I always look forward to it when I can.
So cute, haha! I love the pictures of Gigi scoring the goals, and of her jersey untucked–it’s almost the length of her body!!
My little one was ready to go (or at least get snacks) as soon as her turn in the game was over. Focus is not always her strength, unless of course there is a Disney Princess involved.
Cute post!
Well, obviously, you were working on your tan. Duh. Tell Gigi, great job on the goal!
Fun post! It’s so funny how much personality kids have, even at such a young age. I think my favorite photo is the one with the four girls chasing the ball….they all just look like they’re having so much fun – all smiles! Great photos!
LOL – cute story:D And how cute are Gigi’s socks?! Love them!
LOVE this post! too cute!
Such a cute post! So funny and it does sound like that’s what the kids would be thinking. Looks like they had fun though!
So cute! You are so stinkin creative. I swear, Ive never read a Pea Post I didnt love.
Your post are so hilarious Mama Pea. Always makes me smile. What’s wrong with wearing a vest? It was stylish but as my fiance you remind me all the time with my choice of clothing….fashion over form.
Adorable!! Elly is in soccer too and I love watching those kids run amok! =)
Congrats to Gigi on the goal!! That is awesome and love the pick socks!!!
This made my day. How precious? I started playing soccer at her age and still do. I grew up in Portland and never was fond of playing in rain season after season. Ugh. She didn’t seem to mind though!
OMG! Sophia and Gigi are 2 peas in a pod! Sophia had soccer on Saturday and she LOVES it! GO GIGI!!!
Ahhhh! So cute! Very good job on the photo captions :>
love this.
High-five for laughing at yourself in regards to the vest. But I’m dying to know: does your torso really get colder than your arms?! Major awwwwww to seeing Gigi celebrating the goal! And glad Lulu is being a good sport on the sidelines (if it works, pun intended!).
No, my torso and arms are generally the same temperature, thus wearing a short sleeve shirt and a vest is a very, very stupid choice in the rain. However, I will do it again because I really like that vest.
I made your kabocha/lentil soup tonight and it was delish! thanks
oh my peas! these are the cutest ever. kyle and i were just oohing and aahing at how grown up gigi looks. too bad lulu wasnt nearly as thrilled as your readers are.
I love the look on Gigi’s face. Pure happiness, just to be running around and having fun playing soccer. Love it!
Oh, and for your information, I’ve been known to wear a vest without also wearing sleeves too…haha.
i could not love gigi more for being her own diva. seriously.
Aww I love those pictures!! They look so much happier playing soccer than I did when I was little haha
