Postcard from the Peas: Day 4
Yesterday has to be my favorite day of the vacay so far. We spent the day at the beach (no more gratuitous bikini shots, I promise) and then we went to the Old Kona Village for a luau!
Proud Mama moments: when the crowd gathered at the emu to unearth the pig, Gigi chimes in, “I’ll take the veggies!!!” and of course, the onstage keiki hula. Gigi participated two years ago, but at that time had a bit of stage fright.
This year was a whole ‘nother story. After some purple sweet potato chips and tropical punch, the girls worked the stage like Adam Lambert at the AMAs. Lulu and I watched from stage left, until she darted out, mounted her own drum and danced to her hearts content. I now know the thrill of being a stage mom, because the girls ate up the spotlight (call ME, TLC) and I literally had to drag Lulu off stage. I promise better pictures from the mainland (and pics of the surprisingly vegan friendly luau feast). We partied the night away and at least one of us did the walk of shame this morning in our luau garb (Lulu what?!?).
We are now road trippin’ to Hilo to hit up the Farmer’s Market for a $5 bouquet that would cost $150 back home! It’s a two hour drive each way, so fingers crossed this trip will be puke free! Aloha, until next time!

Sounds like Lulu lived up her spotlight moment

I LOVED the luaus we went to in Hawaii, and I thought those little kiddos getting up on stage was adorable. I can only imagine how cute Gigi and Lulu looked up there. Did you take any videos?
