Get a Move On
They say life’s a dance.

Of course, “they” have never suffered from irregularity. The cramps, the bloating, the overall discomfort may make you feel like you are in an endless game of “Cat and Mouse” “Pincher Pincher.”

Isn’t it time you left the sidelines?

Isn’t it time you quit hunting and digging for a magical cure?

Isn’t it time you found the secret weapon to quiet your “tummy rubbing, grunt-cheerleading” parents and enlisted the help of some superfoods in your battle?

Isn’t it time you made No Bake High Fiber Breakfast Bars?
- 1/3 c. peanut butter
- 1/3 c. maple syrup, agave or combination thereof
- 1/3 c. unsweetened applesauce
- 1/2 c. dried apples, diced
- 1/4 c. raisins
- 1/4 c. hemp seeds
- 1/3 c. ground flaxseeds
- 1/2 c. old fashioned oats
- 3/4 t. ground cinnamon
- 2 c. high fiber cereal twigs (All Bran or Trader Joe’s)
In a small bowl, combine peanut butter, agave or maple syrups and applesauce. Gently heat in a microwave or small saucepan until smooth.

In a larger bowl combine remaining ingredients.

Add wet ingredients to dry and mix well.

Press mixture into an 8×8 pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray and refrigerate until set.

Cut bars into squares and get ready to take your life back…

…dancing all day…

…and all night long.

Maybe “they” were right. Life is a dance, you learn as (and when) you GO.

Just discovered your blog. I have a lot of patching up. Thanks for posting so many great pics and for sharing your girls with the blog world.
Excellent no-bake bar recipe! Done in such Mama Pea fashion.
I love how the little ones help you bake! I wish my Momma had taught me how to bake healthy treats when I was younger!
someday, when your girls are teenagers, you need to show them how you used to tell the world about their fiber needs.
preferably this conversation should happen in front of prom dates.
Don’t worry about when you don’t go,
Life’s a dance, you learn as you go…
I’m pretty sure that first line is different in the actual song, but I couldn’t help myself. You set it all up for a country music fan like me
Another genius recipe! How do you think of these?!
well, this brings a whole new meaning to the term “a regular post”…
lulu is wearing my favorite outfit!!! the cow print princess gown!
Ive been making protein no bake bars lately that are kinda like this except I dont think mine are quite as high fiber. But I am a broccoli addict so no worries there LOL
“peanut butter, agave or maple syrups and applesauce”–yeah. That would totally be right up my alley!!!!!!!!!!
HA! Love it. Sure beats Grandma’s prune juice…
I just love how much your girls love to dance.
Those bars look amazing!
Love this recipe. I just opened a box of this cereal so I need to get on this one asap!
If my dancing skills are to be taken seriously, I really hope life’s not a dance. But we can think of another fun metaphor.
1. I love country songs
2. You’re daughters are too cute
3. Who are you…whipping up those great recipes.
LOVE that picture of Lulu sitting on the sidelines. Totally fits the writing (which in this post I imagine as a voice over haha.)
Those breakfast bars sound SO good. I think we still have some fiber stick cereal in the pantry.
your girls have so much princess energy!
lol…gotta love blogs that have no qualms talking about…errr, “going.” Okay, poop. There, I said it.
Everyone needs a little more dance in their life!
Love the bar recipe, looks awesome!
Ha ha, that sounded like a commercial to me! Another great recipe, I’m envious of your talent
absolutely adorable!!!! the bars look pretty good too.. lol
awww they are soo cute!! I danced for a 12 years and seeing your girls makes me remember my childhood!!
Yum! The only thing I don’t have is hemp seeds
Substitute?
Kati, you could use wheat germ, sunflower seeds, coconut, more oats, more cereal, anything dry just to hold it together!
I can picture Melissa Rivers now asking Lulu on the red carpet about her cow-print ballgown – what the F is that? The bars look awesome but I don’t think I’m gonna be able to get past the cowgown. ROFL!
I love how creative each and every one of your posts are!
This was such a cute post! Thank you!
Is that a cow tutu? Or a poodle skirt? whatever it is..it is adorable!!!
Those bars would definitely get them moving
Those sound so much better than my parents’ solutions when I was a kid. Mineral oil + peanut butter, frozen or bran mixed into apple sauce to hide the texture. Bleh.
Love the Fancy Nancy outfit and the bars! My daugher LOVES Fancy Nancy!
I’m def. going to book mark this recipe. also the pictures of your daughters make me want to be 3-5 years old again. What a wonderful time of life!
Those bars look fantabulous, Mama Pea – and apparently they make ya feel that way, too!
YUM!
*smiles*
Michele
If these work I would be forever in debt to you
That recipe looks great! I wonder how I could trick my husband into thinking these are a treat of some kind.
The girls have all my sympathy if they are suffering from constipation. I was an anal retentive tot myself. That’s hardly the case anymore thanks to things like cookies I make with flax and juicer pulp, though! My toilet sees more action than my boyfriend.
Your family is so adorable!
how many tutus are in your house…seriously. i love it, hahaha
I’m definitely going to have to make those bars – as soon as my appetite for peanut butter returns! I never in my life thought I’d say that. Don’t know what’s wrong with me! Anything to get me going again.
Gigi looks like she’s getting so tall! Or is it just the outfit and the picture?
oooh those bars look so good!!!!
So funny and so true. Your girls are gorgeous.
hahah good point. and i’d eat those bars whether or not I “need” them
Thanks for the recipe! I’m definitely going to try these sometime soon.
