Site Under Construction
After my tough but enjoyable workout this morning, I came into a tangle of tent poles and two girls yapping at my heels to put together their playhouse. The poles are tethered together with thin, nylon rope, and somehow in her excitement, Gigi managed to twist and knot those poles together as if she were deliberately trying to create a Survivor challenge for her sweaty, hungry, desperate for a cup of coffee mom.

Still, miracles happen. $8.50 donations to the Swear Jar happen too (the $.50 was for yelling “F….lava Flav!!!,” which though not a swear word, should NOT be repeated by anyone, EVER).

Home sweet home.
Once the Princess Palace was constructed, I created an unoriginal smoothie in a bowl for breakfast. It was a repeat of yesterday’s “green smoothie in, green mucus out” attempt. Knock on wood, I’m the healthiest one in the house right now.

I threw on some Trader Joe’s High Fiber Cereal and Pumpkin Spice granola to make it look even more like it came from the swamp.
Daddy traded cars with us today to get an oil change, so this afternoon we took his car to run errands. I tried to construct a logical explanation for why this was sitting near the driver’s seat.

If he starts wearing his hair like Pauly D, that’s a deal breaker.

While I pondered “the situation,” Gigi made a keen observation from the back seat.

“It smells like BOY in here!”
True enough.
We ended up hanging out with the Golden Girls crowd at the craft store and came home to construct our crafting stockpile.

Try to contain your excitement kids, I’d rather not have to mop today.
Round 1: Constructing Valentine’s “ornaments.”

Some paint actually managed to hit the ornaments and avoid the kitchen table while I made some phone calls to several different healthcare professionals (apparently when you hit 30, it all goes at once).

Round 2: Constructing Princess crowns.

Admiring glances were exchanged.

Round 3: Constructing Princess wands.

Round 4: Constructing Princess pizzas.
Daddy may get offended at that title for dinner, but for all I know he is considering hitting the pageant circuit after his tanning endeavors.
I found these great big fluffy Alexis whole wheat pitas at the store, so I constructed two big pita pizzas for the four of us to share.

The grown-up version has pizza sauce, tofu ricotta, organic mozzarella on Pea Daddy’s half, Tofurkey Italian sausage slices, fresh basil and olives.

The kids’ version has pizza sauce, organic mozzarella and pineapple.

We also had some salad with Annie’s Honey Mustard, because pizza without salad…

is like a princess without a crown.

I better begin constructing an apology.

Looks like a very constructive day, indeed!
what pretty princesses! those are great looking pita pizzas. have a great weekend!
josh was really impressed with daddy pea’s crown. i think he’s jealous.
Pea Daddy is innocently sitting here watching the Lakers and has no idea what I’ve done… I’m sure Josh can get a tiara at David’s Bridal.
I really want Gigi’s headband. And my husband would so look great in Pea Daddy’s crown.
And it does kind of look like there are worms on your swamp smoothie… still looks good though.
Ahhh Princess Daddy Pea I dieeeee!
i made pizza tonight too.. but breakfast pizza.
you’re not fooling me, where’s the mama pea crown? i know you made one…
love the valentine’s day art and the pineapple on the pizza!
Great idea on the Valentine’s day crafts! I love the picture of Lulu all decked out from head to toe. She looks adorable in those little heels. I’m curious to know what that tanning coupon was about, too…
We had one of those little houses when we were little and it kept us busy for hours!
Pizza with salad is like white on rice! It’s just a must!
Daddy Pea makes a stunning princess.
I totally thought the girls were coloring shrinky-dinks… which are back, by the way! We’re having pizza night next week, and I’m loving the crust idea
you’re probably in trouble twice .. . once for the photo of him in the crown . . . one for outting his love for tanning!
OMG your girls are so girly! They even have those princess heels! Now I want pizzaaa
What cute crafts! The pizzas look so yummy!
your girls are going to grow up to be engineers.
Bahaha…what a site it would be to see Pea Daddy with a Pauly D hair cut!
Those crowns are adorable. You are such a fun mom!
They really love doing crafts! Too cute…And those huge pitas look great for pizza!
Haha love that last picture!
So cute! When’s your book coming out?? I would buy a copy for everyone I know!
I want a princess crown!! My cousin’s daughter will be 2 next week and good old cousin K has taught her to say ‘coach’ and ‘pretty princess.’ Of course she says pretty princess while wearing a tiara. In fact the first thing she wants when she gets to my house is the tiara! I’m such a great influence on her
It looks like you guys have so much fun in your house! What lucky girls.
Yummy pizzas! Will Gigi and Lulu be my valentines?
Ha! Love it. The problem with your posts is that by the time I get down here to comment, there are just so many things I wanted to comment about that I forget!
So… here goes… I love GIGI’s little outfit and her smells like boy comment. Love the crowns. They must think you’re the best mommy ever. I rememeber my mom doing things like that.
The pizza look awesome. I really love making homemade pies.
lol love the picture of Pea Daddy with the crown!
Just about died because of the Flava Flav comment! That swear jar must be piling up
jk
Love the princess crown that Daddy Pea is rocking…does he ever a) see that on the blog and b) comment on it later?
awww, poor pea daddy! but thanks for the laugh!
what a fun looking day you had! hope the gunkies are all gone today!
That’s a deal breaker! Love the 30 rock reference!
I love all the crafty things your family does. Shows that TV doesn’t have to be the only babysitter for kids.
Again and again, you never fail to crack me up Miss! Flavvva Flav…deal breaker. And you watch Jersey shore? What a hip mom with a penchant for Mtv.
i don’t even know where to start. this post made me laugh. and i am about to write you a ranting e-mail about health care reform, just to warn you.
That pita pizza looks out of this world good!
So does Pea Daddy’s crown!
I like the idea of having a swear jar! What a cool idea!!!
Daddy Pea is the prettiest princess of all!! Ha!! Love it!!
How sweet doing those crafts, so much fun!!!
Have a great weekend!!!
Hehe…CD would kill me. I love it, and I love Gigi’s dimples. I just want to squeeze your girls…but not too hard. I’m not in the mood to mop either.
Happy Friday Mama Pea!
Haha love following your daily “journey’s” too funny!
the pizza looks fab! I love olives
XXOO
Loved the photoshopping at the end!
Your Golden Girl comment totally made me crack up. Why do older ladies love their craft stores SO MUCH? Are we all destined to be 70+ spending all our days knitting and doing various other crafts? While I already love to knit, I hope at the very least I spend my older years watching MTV while I knit!
you are the best.mom.ever.
hahahaha. I would not be able to keep a straight face if I were you. Love it.
Hmm, tanning coupons in Daddy’s car? Keep an eye on your blow dryer and stying products–if those go missing you’ve got a bigger problem, and not just on your head!
Hahaha that last photo was hilarious
Pineapple on pizza–always a favorite in this house
hahahah i’m cracking up over here
love the princess palace and crowns.. so cute!
hope your friday is treating you well
how adorable!
a bientot!
The Paris Food Blague
that picture of pea daddy is too funny! haha
mmm i haven’t have pineapple pizza in sooo long. looks delish!
You guys look like you’re having so much fun! I always love to see what’s new in the world of Gigi and Lulu — perhaps design and construction in their future?
Hope you feel 100% soon!
You are so fun! Can I come play crafts with you and eat pizza? That sounds so much better than spreadsheets and traffic.
Have a great weekend!!!
XOXO,
Erin
love those crowns! how creative.
and i love pauly d. LOVE. HIM. and i have no idea why.
have a fun weekend
Woahahah!! Loved the last picture….Does he read this blog though? Ignorance is bliss!
Your daughters never fail to make me smile…they are just so sweet, and it makes me re-think my terror regarding kids. Maybe they’re not so scary after all…
AHAHA that last picture is priceless!
Ari’s sister and I made their mom a purple princess crown with pink flamingos for her last birthday… never too old for royalty!
