Babes In Misfit Toyland
We took the day yesterday to break in all our new toys.
Pea Daddy and I stayed up until midnight breaking in our new LOST: Season 5 DVDs.
Sheer torture. Isn’t a cougar a natural predator of a “Fox”? Grrrrrrow.
My own fox broke in some new books with Lulu.
“Shhh…don’t tell me how it ends!”
After my workout, I made some protein ice cream for breakfast.
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1/4 c. silken tofu
- 1 c. frozen strawberries
- ice cubes
- 1/4 t. guar gum
- 1/4 c. almond milk
- stevia
We showered up and Lulu broke in her new monkey towel.
Too bad we spent all of our budget on Christmas and couldn’t afford a Kleenex.
Upon inspection of the girls’ new dollhouse, I was happy to find a fully stocked fridge.
An elderly Oompah Loompah proudly displayed the contents of the produce drawer.
I was a little confused when I “checked out” the girls new cash register set.
This thing had “Dollar Store” written all over it. Or maybe it had “Dahler Stoor” written all over it.
How about a nice ketchup bottle full of “Jumny Vegatable Soup”?
Not your “coup of tee?” How about a nice tall glass of “Mike.”
Maybe the cow’s name is Mike?
Perhaps the greatest discovery of the day was found on the Christmas clearance aisle of Target.
Gigi snatched this up like Charlie Sheen at a gun show.
Who knew that we could have saved our Kleenex funds and made her Christmas by just buying her a broken alarm clock from the Goodwill and a marked down Lady Gaga Nutcracker?
For dinner I made another version of my Reuben salad.
- spinach
- broccoli
- sauerkraut
- caraway seeds
- 1/2 a Tofurky sausage
- Annie’s Honey Mustard Vinaigrette
I ensured that I would not deplete my beta carotene stores by having some butternut squash fries on the side.
I’m wrapping this one up, because we’ve got twelve more episodes of LOST awaiting us, and perhaps some Mike and cookies.
Mmm…delicious.
well, on a good note, i’m fairly sure that mike is non dairy!

I have been reading your blog for a while and really enjoy it.
I noticed that even after working out in the mornings, your breakfasts are very small. Is that simply a reflection of your appetite at that hour?

Thanks for your question. I actually don’t post everything I eat, especially snacks and so while I’ll have a smoothie or something that you would consider “very small” around 8:30 am or so, I’ll end up having a handful of nuts and dried fruit or a cup of Kashi around 10:30 or so. I’m trying to get away from having this site be a “food diary” and be more of a source for ideas and recipes. I do appreciate your question/concern!
Wow, glad to see that toys have not changed much since my days of play kitchens. I use to love playing with those big plastic chicken legs and rubber bread slices. Haha, what was the real treat was when I was old enough to own my E-zbake Oven. Now that was living!

Love Lost – I’m waiting till the end of this last season and hoping that they come out with a version with all seasons in one set in Blu-Ray. Can’t wait to get the entire set and watch it in succession

QUESTION: What does guar gum do?
ANSWER:
Guar gum is kind of a thickener…it gives smoothies a richer, silkier texture, if that makes sense.
That reminds me of the Jay Leno Dollar Store segment. So funny!

I sped through all 5 seasons of LOST this fall after the recommendation of Brandi and I’m super excited for the new season. I don’t know how I’ll survive between episodes.

Also, he’s the main reason I still watch LOST. I think it sort of went downhill…but DAMN, he’s fine.
