Looks Like
Looks like I was the victim of a pretty serious hack job, as was The Fitnessista. At least I was in good company. But order has been restored to the universe, well, aside from Tiger refusing to return my text messages. Thanks for sticking with me through the drama. I’ll try to make it worth your while.
Some people see Jesus in fish sticks.

Some people see the Virgin Mary in a pretzel.

Me, well, I’m blessed with juice stains on my couch that look like Mickey Mouse.

Lulu was NOT impressed with her handiwork.

She’s thinking, “Yeah, so? Is this really blogworthy?” You are likely asking yourself that same question right now.
I’m a little ashamed that instead of running for a towel or upholstery cleaner, I ran for my camera. It explains a LOT about why my couch looks like Monica Lewinsky’s infamous blue dress.
Another object of shame, I unintentionally sent Gigi off to school looking like Britney Spears.

Mother of the Year? Anyone?
I made some breakfast that looks like HEAB‘s almond flour cakes.

In reality, they are a lot different, though, since I didn’t have almond flour and don’t eat eggs, but I did have one special ingredient that HEAB herself sent me.

Oh, Jay. I must be a snowflake, because I have fallen for you.
I made some substitutions and came up with a Vegan Protein Pancake, based on HEAB‘s:
- 1 packet (30g) Jay Robb Brown Rice Protein (or vegan protein powder of your choice)
- 1/2 c. oat flour
- 2 flax eggs (2 T. ground flax in 1/2 c. water)
- 1/2 t. baking powder
- 1/2 t. baking soda
- water to thin
- stevia, to taste
- 1/2 t. cinnamon
- 1/2 t. freshly ground nutmeg
Mix up your flax eggs and set aside. Combine dry ingredients and add flax eggs and water until you have the consistency of pancake batter.
Put batter in a skillet sprayed with non-stick spray and heated over medium heat, and cook for several minutes on each side.
One of the best things about vegan cooking? You can ALWAYS lick the beater.

I flipped my cakes, and they didn’t look terrific.

In fact, the only Madonna I was seeing in them was maybe the image of her coming out of the gym without makeup.

But like Madonna, my pancakes clean up real nice.

Well, these pancakes anyway. My own “pancakes” need a padded push up bra and a low cut shirt.
The end result, after topping with heated apples, cinnamon and granola was delicious, and reminded me of a apple fritter. Looks like we have a winner!
It also looks like the family has started a dance party this morning without me.

I’m not sure where they’ve picked up their Greek-inspired plate throwing dance.

And now they are raising the roof.

Way to avoid any uneccessary cardio by dancing seated, girls.

Looks like I’ve got a new workout regime for the new year. Spring break bikini, here I come.

Glad to see your blog, and Gina’s blogs are back : ) And the pancakes look awesome. YUM! I love pancakes and Heather’s pancakes always look so good!
I totally remember when that picture of Madonna came it… not a pretty picture. I like your pancake picture better
So sweet and funny
Its funny how people “see’ things in items…there was a story before of a lady who saw Jesus in a potato chip!
Have a nice day with your family.
Your blog is awesome!! I’m so glad I found it, and it’s all fixed… so funny!!!
Thanks for the laugh this morning!!
Those pancakes look like a definite winner.
I’m lovin the Britney Spears hair Gigi’s rocking. Have a great weekend!
I love how you can somehow link Madonna and pancakes…you just have an amazing knack for humor!
Glad things worked out well (and quick)! I’ve got to get me some ground flax so I can make things like this
I just got called out for laughing uncontrollably. Lulu’s facial expression is priceless.
Sorry to hear about the hack!
Your pancakes look great!
I am so inspired by some of the variations Heather does! I made some this morning with glucomannan which added fiber and made them larger which I love!
Happy weekend,
Katie

I love your blog themes…your posts flow so well and I’m always left with a chuckle.
I’m sure I’ll go to hell for saying this, but I wish I’d seen a video of Lulu running out of the room with her pants falling down around her legs. I’m laughing at the visual (sorry Lulu!!)
You’re a great mom for carting your girls to the state capitol on a miserably rainy day and an even better mom for getting home, doing crafts with them and then making dinner.
Sorry you were hacked
My daughter Sophia has the same nightgown as yours! I was cracking up through the entire post. I guess I’ve never commented before, and only lurked, but I enjoy your sarcasm and wit
Thank you for putting a smile on me today!
I laughed so hard at the snowflake come-on line…yes, it doesn’t take much to make me happy.
Gigi looks so cute in those Britney Spears-like fuzzy hair thingies.
Love the pancakes!! Looked yummy to me..
Have a great weekend!
Oh no! Okay, now I understand why I was getting that warning message before I opened your blogs the other day. Uh oh, hope there was no serious damage.
Love the cakes!
My favorite way to eat pancakes is with warm cinnamon apples.
Hope you have a great weekend Mama P!
Great minds think alike?!! We both had VERY similar breakfasts’ this morning
I tried Kath’s oatmeal pancakes for the first time and topped ‘em with sunflower seed butter and baked apples pieces ( i dont think there’s anything more delicious than baked apples in this world–and that’s the truth hahha)
But don’t tell Britney–Gigi pulls the fluffy hair ties off WAY better.
I LOVE GIGI’S PAJAMAS!! That’s not something I should be admitting nor declaring excitedly but I can’t help it. When I was about her age I had my Jasmine PJ’s and my mom had to steal the tattered remains while I slept one night.. Gigi’s pajamas reminded me of them.
Better watch out, Gigi may actually be the next Britney – she has the hair, the dance moves, the style, the little sister..
I can’t tell you how much your posts make me want to have kids right now. Maybe I can borrow yours for a few hours? Then I’ll know for sure.
Congrats on getting your bloggie back from the hack!
The pancakes…I have both Jay Choc & Vanilla, and Sun Warrior Choc & Vanilla, and Amazing Grass Choc. So…with all that powder layin’ around, I need to get busy! Thanks for the recipe and LOVE That it’s not full of eggs, milk, or oil. Perfect
Glad your blog has been restored to normal!
That is the thing I love about vegan baking the most -that you can ALWAYS lick the beater!
I want to try Jay Robb
Yay I’m glad your blog is back!
I love your posts and wit by the way!
Those pancakes look amazing to me! They sound so good! Mmm.
Love the last picture. “92 years young” haha
do you know where i can get some cow jammies like lulu’s???
have a lovely weekend, and just so you know, i thought about pulling out a tacky mug from my own cupboard today, just so you don’t have to wait until monday night for the next installment of “The Tour De Tacky”
I was using Google Reader, as usual, so I missed all the hacking excitement. If it makes you feel any better, my blog was accidentally taken down yesterday by own IT guy/husband when he messed with the DNS (I thought I told him never to touch that! Just kidding – I don’t even know what it is).
Is it weird that I see Jim Morrison in the fish stick?
Um, yeah, not-so Hidden Mickey! I totally get why you’d run for the camera!
Seriously, Madonna’s arms are scary. Like she had a spider arm transplant (maybe they’re all the rage in Hollywood – I’ve been gone from there a while now so I’m a little out of touch).
Every post I don’t think the girls can get any cuter…and then they DO! It’s crazy – cute bar just went up a little higher!
IS THAT SERIOUSLY MADONNA???? omg. I feel so betrayed, hahaa. Your daughters rock, so much more than Britney Spears! =)
I love that you went to grab your camera before cleaning up the Mickey Mouse stain, heh heh.
And I’m pretty sure your pancakes look better than Madonna! Wow…
I’m seriously going to try that chair workout, now.
I am using this pancake recipe tomorrow morning. I am out of gluten free oats and need something for breakfast. Thanks!
Did you eat your pancakes wearing your Jay shirt?
So glad you posted this recipe as I always have people asking about a vegan version of the protein pancakes. Now, I know to send them to Mama Pea!
That pic of Madonna always freaks me out. Scary.
Whoa. That’s Madonna? She looks seriously…emaciated…But it’s kind of sickeningly relieving to see that celebrities can look crappy too without make-up! (shhhh)
lol about you running for your camera instead! once a blogger, always a blogger!
omg. your closeups of lulu’s tantrums make me laugh so loud. 1) i feel bad for my neighbors 2) i feel bad for laughing at a child 3) sometimes i scroll back up for more.
So happy you are all fixed up! I was afraid you would be gone forever M. Pea! Then what would I do with my first sip of coffee in the AM. =)
Sheesh, so scary about the hackjob! Glad order has been restored and you’re back in your dancing shoes.
Mama Pea, I LOVE your site
I also cannot believe Madonna looks like that without makeup. *shudder*
