Good Things Come in Daddy’s Package
I must love you all a lot.
It is nearly midnight and here I am like a lunatic posting because I operate under the illusion that somehow you won’t survive your Thursday morning without a new post from me. I have my excuses, but hopefully I can reserve those for a later date. Right now, let’s just feel the love.

Like the love that fills my heart when I think about what Katie of Chocolate Covered Katie is doing, donating all of her blog income from the month to help others in need through “Operation Chocolate Covered Kindness“. All you have to do is click one or all of those three links above and you’ll be donating to others, while getting some crazy good recipes and healthy living tips. Short of having sniffed too much glue, why wouldn’t you?
Love was NOT filling my heart at 4 a.m. this morning. “Mahhmeee, mahhmeee?! Where are YOU?! I’m stuck in my crib.”

Thanks Lulu. I put you there, and I’d like you to stay stuck for at least another three hours. But I was the good mommy and huddled in her rocking chair with her tiny baby crib comforter to keep me warm. We were NOT happy campers this morning.

I believe she is trying to flip me off here.

I definitely gave her the stink eye before my workout.
Gigi was rather zen about the whole ordeal, choosing to do yoga instead. She narrated her own poses.

“Moth!” (she corrected my “Butterfly” description)

“Downward Dog” (even a blind squirrel gets a nut sometimes)

“Cat” (Meowing is optional)

“Pegasus” (Shocking, no?)

“Unicorn” (duh)
After our grueling workouts, I had a lovely little breakfast with my near empty almond butter jar.
Since it is late here, I’m going to just share one meal today, in true Chocolate Covered Katie fashion. You might recall her Chocolate Covered Meals of the Day. I’d call this my Pea Covered Meal of the Day, but that hits a little too close to home.

Step 1: Regret that you didn’t reserve more almond butter in the jar.

Step 2: Add sliced apple, stevia and cinnamon. Microwave for 1 minute.
Step 3: Cover in Kashi Go Lean and Pumpkin Spice Granola.

Lovely.
I was a busy little woman all day, but the girls and I managed to make it to the carousel for a birthday party.
They enjoyed every bite of their cupcakes…

…watching the birthday girl blow out the candles…

…and riding on horses that closely resemble yoga poses.

The other highlight of our evening was when Chris received a package in a large box in the mail. The situation was ripe with humor, and Gigi set me up flawlessly.

“Daddy, you’ve got a big package!!!”

“Hey Daddy, do you know any package jokes?” To which I replied, “I could make a lot of jokes about Daddy’s package.”

“Daddy’s package is getting away.”

Unfortunately, that is true…and I think it’s far too late for me to catch it. Good night.

Well, I’m glad you were overcome at midnight with love for your readers, because I was totally looking forward to a new post to go with my coffee this morning. Have a great day! Nice package.
Hahahah oh my, I hope my life is half as entertaining with kids as yours in.
You are right, I proably wouldn’t be able to survive my Thursday Morning without a little taste of Mama Pea!
You always shed a little light into each of my days.
Love you!
Funny story: when I was about Gigi’s age, my mom took me to a mommy and me yoga class… the ONLY thing I remember is that the teacher’s stomach was making weird noises, and I could hear them. She’d apparently had some tea right before the class and it was sloshing around. I never did learn the unicorn pose…
I hope one day, the girls can appreciate exactly how freaking hilarious they are!
Hahaha why you gotta be so brilliant? I don’t know why, but I’m a HUGE fan of package jokes. Just wrote “Jobes.” Don’t think that would be appropriate, shoo. Love you, Mama Pea/Muffin!
I used to love boxes when I was a kid (who am I kidding…I still do. I just don’t fit into them anymore
)
I made your pumpkin spiced chickpeas yesterday. Just in case you didn’t know, they’re really good!
That oatmeal in a jar sounds SO GOOD right now! Too bad I’m leaving for school in like 20 minutes or I would make it ASAP!
You are truly soooo funny. “I could make a lot of jokes about Daddy’s package”…classic! Stink eye…I have to use that one since I do USE that one a lot!
) Thanks for being a mad woman and posting at midnight so I have some fun early morning reading.
))
Hilarious! Package jokes are a great way to start the morning, thanks!
Also, I’m now so mad at myself b/c I have an almost empty jar of almond butter, and I’m eating out of a bowl. Lame
I’ve become obsessed with food blogs in the past couple of months and I’ve stumbled upon your cheery little blog…I for one would have a hard time surviving today if you didn’t post so thank you.
Your girls are adorable. I have a 1 1/2 year-old who is starting to develop her personality. This is such a fun process to be a part of.
I’ve been wondering. Do you plan your meals or do you just throw things together when the mood strikes?
I do appreciate the effort to post so you could make my morning with jokes about Daddy Pea’s package…LOL!
Your girls are so great doing their own yoga poses. My cousins did the same and it always cracked me up. They got a few right
I have to tell you that first thing in the morning I immediately go to your page because your posts are such a great way to start my day. I love kids (I am 24 so I don’t have any yet) but your girls will brighten up anyone’s day!
Thank You!
Have a good day!
I’m glad you already knew I wouldn’t have survived my Thursday morning without a post from you …cause it’s totally true!
LOL Dirty mama
Gigi and yoga? Hysterical. She maybe even better then me
It would probably be rude for me to comment on P Daddy’s package so I’ll just leave that alone.
Hope you got more sleep this morning girlie!
You are right. Thursday morning wouldn’t have been the same without your post!
I think we were up at about the same time the night before last, only my toddler got up at 12:30 and went back to sleep at 4:30! And yes, I also tried to keep warm with an insanely small blanket. While he was nice and cozy, I was freezing….
Namaste Gigi, Hope to see your Yoga DVD Soon..
Your posts ALWAYS brighten up my morning! I love Gracie’s yoga poses
So what came in the package??? ;>
I’m stuck in my crib…
Yeah and I hoped you’d be there another 3 hours.
Classic!!!!!!!!
Been there. You look exhausted in your Hat photo. I hope it’s an Easy Day on the Mothering Trail for you today
I do look forward to reading your posts in the morning…so thanks for posting even though it was late, lol!
Love the almond butter breakfast idea…yum!
Oh Sarah, THANK YOU!! I don’t even know what to say, I’m so grateful for your help and kindness and wonderfulness and… I could go on
.
And it looks like you have a little future yogi on your hands! Like Rodney Yee, only MUCH MUCH cuter! I’d buy her yoga dvds for sure
P.S. I could not stop laughing at your Pea-Covered Meal of the Day idea.
Sounds appetizing…
Very cute post! The package is too funny
No you are right. I would not be a happy camper if I didn’t get to read your blog posts. I loved this one as well.
LOL Daddy’s got a big package!
And not a “that’s what she said” in sight! I admire your restraint. Also admire your restraint in not adding more almond butter (TJ’s raw crunchy is my fave too) to that jar, unless it wasn’t an option. I killed an AB jar this past weekend with oh…like 1/4 cup left, haha…
you know many of us can’t start our day until we read a post from you
the fact that it’s almost noon can be ignored
i have severe almond butter envy right now… i’m totally out and the health food store is 10 minutes away– which in valdosta time, since we only have one lane each way, is more like an hour.
hope you have a wonderful day <3
Although I’m sorry you have crazy relatives, I am not that sorry because it led to your guest post on Ms. Fitnessistas blog which led me straight to you. I now cannot survive the morning without you so thank goodness you posted. I always find myself cracking up which is a phenomenal way to start the day
okay, I laughed out loud a LOT reading this post
Love the yoga poses, and all the package jokes! Too funny, and i love that they both are walking around in the box
Wow, your meal looks yum.
I love your daughters, they are so cute!
I loved empty boxes as a child, so much fun to play with them.
If you search peas and thank you in google, a kids book called that comes up, it’s quite cute.
My morning would not have been complete without this.
I do not get through the day without my daily dose of Mama Pea and her humor.
PS: Just got the “results” from the doc. Said nothing is wrong with my bones – it’s all my ligaments and muscles. Just said to keep doing yoga. Really? He told me to call in two weeks and we’ll set up “therapy.” I don’t even know what this means.
a VITA MIX wasn’t in that package was it?
just wondering!
JJ hasn’t requested removal of his cage yet. SHEW..I am sure that’s next
you’re right! i did need your post this morning! you’re hilar and your girls are ADORABLE. as for the hub’s package…i have nothing funny AND appropriate to say at once, so i’ll let that go.
I almost can’t take the package jokes! Don’t you love it when kids say things that can have so many different meanings – makes my job fun
I adore the bows that your girls always wear in their hair. It makes me want to wear bows… is that wrong at 23? Haha.
You are hilarious. Love it.
Your daughters are so beautiful! I hope I have funny kids like that someday!
What stevia brand do you use? I’m a SweetLeaf gal!
Mama pea we have a matching mole! You girls are adorable
You make me smile!
You make me giggle.. lol (at work while Im supposed to be teaching) oops.
Love all the package jokes. You can’t not make jokes about Daddy’s package. The girls look too cute in the box. I wish I could still be that entertained by cardboard.
hahahaha how you managed to hold back on a TWSS is commendable. love you mama – have a good day!
and the stew throwdown is on…i ain’t no scared. just tweakin’ some thangs to do the dayum thang!
Your posts feel like a good reality tv show to me LOVEEE them
!
you are sooo right…we cant live w/o a post from you daily! too hilarious. esp one that talks about daddy’s package. go on girl.
and does that unicorn’s horn pierce the sky, like princess unicorn, the top selling doll of xmas 2008? i’m sure thats what she was getting at…horns, piercing things. stop, now.
love this blog!
So, what was in Daddy’s package?!?
Mama Pea, your breakfast sounds divine, but I agree – you need to leave more almond butter in the jar next time!
How could you not love that face even at 4 AM?
Hm is it sad that I have some very similar package pictures of myself…from my freshman year of college?
Ironically, I recieved a package in the mail today and Mallard had a similar joke. He also informed Snuffy that Daddy’s package IS Mommy’s too
Though I am away from home right now, I did what you suggested – brought my laptop so I could check facebook and emails and read blogs – mostly yours!! I’m so glad I did because this post had me laughing…especially the last part. I loved all of Gigi’s yoga poses – she is one talented little lady. I wonder who she gets that from?
Gigi will surely have her own set of yoga DVD’s out soon!
