What I Learned From My Kids Today
If you run out of cinnamon rolls, it’s just plain fine to eat icing for breakfast.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

- heated Honeycrisp apple
- cinnamon
- Kashi Go Lean
- Pumpkin Spice Granola
Don’t ask Daddy to take pictures for the blog. He will take only one photo, and make it as unflattering as possible.

The only reason to take a shower is if you smell bad or you think you might get some your mom tells you to.

Don’t let obstacles stand in your way: a moving car is a fine place to play hide-and-go-seek…or give yourself a facial???

Don’t be afraid to try something new. Even if it’s not Sabra, it can still be tasty.

Sometimes it only takes two to party, especially if that party involves wearing pajamas in the middle of the day.

If you make a vegan baked good, we will want to help, and a tutu is perfectly suitable cooking attire.

Vegan Energy Bars
- 2 c. quick cooking oats
- 1/2 c. whole wheat pastry flour
- 1 t. baking powder
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/4 c. raisins
- 1/4 c. chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. nut butter (I used peanut butter)
- 1/4 c. maple syrup
- 1/4 c. granular sweeter (I used NuNaturals Stevia Baking Blend)
- 2 T. ground flax seed + 6 T. water
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine flax and water. Set aside. Combine all dry ingredients in mixing bowl.

Stir in raisins and chocolate chips. In a separate bowl, combine syrup, sweetener and nut butter and mix until smooth. Combine nut butter mixture with flax/water mixture.
Add wet to dry ingredients and mix well.

The mixture will be drier than Sarah Silverman in Death Valley, but just keep stirring.

Press the mixture into an 8 x 8 pan sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Bake for 15 minutes.

Allow pan to cool slightly, then cut into bars and transfer to a cooling rack.

We will beg you to take a picture of Ben Dover. We share the same creative vision as Daddy when it comes to photographic artistry.

It’d be funny to pretend we were pouring over an US Weekly, debating if Paris or Kim K. wore it best,

but really we are doing flashcards. We have better things to do with our time than read your trashy magazines.

We will eat anything if you put the word “hummus” in the recipe’s title and cover it with ketchup.
Hummus Veggie Burgers
- 1 can garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 t. minced garlic
- 1/2 c. chopped vegetables (I used grated carrots, chopped celery and green onions)
- 2 T. cilantro
- 2 t. reduced sodium soy sauce
- 1 T. tahini
- 2 t. grill seasoning
Combine all ingredients except beans in food processor until finely minced.

Add beans and pulse several times, but do not blend until smooth.

Put mixture in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Coat a skillet with non-stick cooking spray and place over medium high heat. Form mixture into four patties and cook for five minutes on each side.

Mommy’s orange.

Newman’s Alphabet Cookies make a fine snack while blogging.

Even kids like to Shred. It’s not about how many calories you burn, it’s about having a good time.

I was thinking Kim wore it best until I noticed her pedicure flip-flops. Who wears a designer dress to get a pedicure?
I am LOVING TJ’s Smooth and Creamy hummus. So good…I like it better than Sabra. If only I could buy it in bulk.
Hummus veggie burgers…now you’re talking!
P.S. My Chris always tried to take pictures like that whenever I ask him to play photographer. Silly boys.
