La-dee-dah-dee, We Likes to Party

I couldn’t bring myself to take the night off, so I’m going an old school on you.  Yup, it’s poem time!

Gigi was up, so bright and so early,

Her hair looking crazy, her hair looking curly,

You’d think it was Christmas, there’d be no more waiting,

She grabbed her new unicorn and paints for painting.

So what if the candy she’d earned now was gone,

Save for the Reese’s that Dad shared with Mom.

I still wanted breakfast, but turned down more candy,

I might have chose oysters, but they’d make me randy.

Instead I had an apple, and nuked it post slicing,

And the lure of granola was oh so enticing.

I walked on the treadmill for almost an hour,

And thanks be to God, I had time for a shower!

Speaking of God, I hope he takes pity,

We passed up church, and rapped like P. Diddy.

“My name is GG and I like to dance…uh oh, I just wet my pants.”

My name is Lulu and I shake my booty, sometimes I’m happy but I’m mostly moody.”

After our rapping we needed lunch STAT,

I wish that old Spencer would please lose the hat.

I heated us up some leftover stew,

And served it on salad.  Why not?  Wouldn’t you?

Lulu passed out, that girl was so sleepy,

And though he looks better, Steve Buscemi’s still creepy.

Gigi and I ran off to a party,

Though I’d kill for Kim’s boobs, we couldn’t be tardy.

We went to a gym, where Gigi walked like a crustacean,

And playing with the ‘chute, caused a sensation.

She balanced and swung and ran very fast,

Were we really surprised that they didn’t last?

Lulu’s nap ended much like their fling,

She took Dad to the park and asked for a swing.

We all reconvened over some dinner,

If I say so myself, this one was a winner!

Fries of all sorts, a salad, some sprouts type: Brussell,

Don’t you think that my hubs bears resemblance to Russell?

Chris

And now the weekend has come to an end,

By now I am sure I’ve lost more than one friend.

Thank you for reading, come back won’t you please?

I’m may be a vegan, but I’m not short on cheese.

  1. Ohhh lordy! This poem was awesome, and yes, you might be a vegan but there was plenty of cheese! I always love the pics of your sweet little cuties, they have so much personality! And your dinner has a lot of personality too, it looks scrumptious!

  2. Seriously impressed that you were able to rhyme “crustacean.” I definitely would have underestimated you there!
    Are those carrot fries?
I DO see a resemblence with the hubby…except he looks like a much nicer, non-threatening version of Russell Crowe.

  3. Diana says:

    Ahah Love the poem. :)
I love Steve Buscemi! But I do agree, he looks creepy :P

  4. Loved this! The girls are sooo cute! Awesome dinner; we had something very similar.

  5. Lauren says:

Oh my goodness, the HUGE parachute brings back so many childhood memories. We use to play with this is gym class when I was in 2nd grade and I went CRAZY over it!

Glad you enjoyed your Sunday. Sounds productive, yet relaxing.

Have a great start to the week!

  6. Love the poem! I could never give up cheese. :)

  7. VeggieGirl says:

  16. K says:

“My name is Lulu and I shake my booty, sometimes I’m happy but I’m mostly moody.” Lulu and I have a lot in common.

I love this kind of cheese, you are a modern day Shakespeare :)

  17. Diana Cheung says:

  20. Whit says:

I love the way you rhyme, your rapping skillz are prime, yo. That husband of yours, though he looks a lot like Russell Crowe, let’s hope that the resemblance ends there. Temper tantrums would be too much to bear.

  21. brandi says:

Oh, how I missed the poems :) Looks like Halloween was a success!

  22. You’re awesome.

Also, Flava Flav? On my hit list.

Love you crazy woman! You totally give PDiddy a run for his money!

  24. Mrs. Pea,
You know I’ll be back, cheese or not.

Your fry bowl at dinner has me drooling. Kabocha, sweet potato, and Brussels. HEAB Heaven!

    Steve Buscemi…I think it’s his hairline. ;)

  25. Ali says:

Love the pictures of your daughters and your cute comments. And I love seeing your salads and getting awesome suggestions. By the way, you answered my question about the tahini dressing (thanks) Cou you tell us whether you put any milk or soymilk on your breakfast granola and apple or pear?

  26. because of this poem, I will never stop reading your blog. You always bring a little sunshine to my day! hahaha rapping with p. diddy. too good

  27. YESSSSSSSS. I love your poems. You just made my day.

Aside from Brigitte and our dear Flavor Flav,
You never do fail in your own little way
To succeed in honestly making my day.

  32. Cindy says:

Thanks once again for slappin a huge ole smile on my face

I’m having a DAY and you just helped change the weather!

“My name is Lulu and I shake my booty, sometimes I’m happy but I’m mostly moody.”

It was over after that line!

I think I should go home early!

  33. You might be a mama pea, but you have a heart the size of a kabocha!! ;)
Thank you for your sweet comment this morning. It really meant a lot to me.

  34. My belly aches from laughing at your rhymes.

And, that pic of Kim TOTALLY got the song “Don’t Be Tardy for the Party” stuck in my head. Gee, thanks. . .

  35. Low says:

I’ve missed your crunk rhymes, Mama Pea! Sadly enough, I used to know all the words to Lodi Dodi, and probably still could hang in there if I had to.

I remember that parachute thing from gym class! It was my fave!

And yes, hubski looks a lot like Russell, but only when he’s looking good and not like a lumber jack ;)

  36. McKenzie says:

hahaha I was falling asleep at work your poem just perked me up:)

  37. Kaye says:

    Ahhhh! SLICK RICK!

  41. Erika says:

    Love Fries of all sorts!!!!

Poor Gigi, girl was too excited. Come on, we all wet our pants sometimes….

  42. That apple crisp is a nice quick breakfast for me often. Heck I eat it for dessert :-)

I love the rhymes. They make me giggle :-)

  43. I missed your rhymes, Mama! So glad you’re back to blogging :)

  44. BroccoliHut says:

WHOA your dinner looks pretty amazing. Mind sharing how you made the squash fries?

They are kabocha fries! I just sliced, peeled and baked at 425 for 20 minutes on each side. I actually think carrot fries might be my new favorite, though. I made them the same way. Problem is, if I start eating carrot fries, I’m going to have to buy TWO 10 lb. bags of organic carrots each week instead of just the one.

  45. Amber says:

vegan mama eminem!!? Are you really making me wait till 10:30!? I am antsy for some wittiness!

  46. I love your poems! You are such a fun writer, I love reading your posts.
